Guildford 02/04/2011
มุมมอง 2.2K13 ปีที่แล้ว
I spent an afternoon at Guildford with MRCreepy101 filming some interesting moves. First was a pair of West Coast Railways 'Tractors', 37706 and 37676 'Loch Rannoch'. The 37s were running a tour that had originated from London Euston, and were running via various branch lines around the south. Next to appear were a couple of engineers trains, which had been used on track replacement in the Goms...

Mrcreepy101 & I went to Worplesdon to film Clan line on the VSOE at speed, and whilst waiting i filmed a few of the Desiros that cam through. We then spotted an HC UNIT arrive in Guildford off London Waterloo Via Cobham and so we Filmed that depart back towards Cobham. And the final part at Godalming was another Treat from South West Trains to us and that was in the form of another HC 450.
Street Light Replacemnt (Time Lapsed)
มุมมอง 19K13 ปีที่แล้ว
I filmed the chaps replacing the old Orange street lights with new white energy saving lights that will be dimmed during the late night and early hours, though the change in brightness won't be detected by the human eye. Here is a time Lapsed video fo them installing it.

I don't know if the idea is that all areas have these sort of white lights at all or not? Here where I live in Kent most of the road lights have now been replaced, but is it that Councils are doing much the same all round Britain I wonder too?
the funniest thing is SOX is more efficent than PL and LED
Time lapsed and its still a yawn.....and as for the muzak........
Would buses still stop there while the streetlight is being replaced
Here's a question for you...... if the naked eye can't tell that they've been dimmed then why not just leave them dimmed the whole damn time?
You can't tell its been dimmed but the power they are saving during the time its dimmed is huge when you think how many street lights there are
They could’ve kept the existing pole and only had to change the bulb and switch.
Exactly
I don't know what place is it in Surrey
Street Light Replacemnt (Time Lapsed)
And they run Flourescent
They are Libra lanterns also in Devonshire Road, Horsham
In my street (New Street, Horsham, West Sussex) they have replaced Indal SRL8 (SON-T) with Indal Arc (MH). The Indal SRL8 is still in production, they provide only 1% of ULOR, so they are eco-friendly. Why have replaced the SRL8 (that are eco-friendly) with Indal/Industria (latter now WRTL) Arc lantens?
They are replacing Philips XGS103 (I think) with Philips Libra lanterns.
Gabriel Hessayon they are not Philips XGS103s they are Philips MI57s
Who did the Transfer Service ?
Ever heard of an invention called a tripod?
F off
I don't understand the change to CFL PL/L by councils I don't think they can be dimmed only switched off?
On my road they're replacing the new street lights again because they didn't put the paint on to stop them rotting and they said they've got a whole yard full of lights lol Dorset ppl these days
LPS/SOX is the best roadway lighting, no GLARE, soft non offensive lighting. Stick with SOX 200L/W possible. Since 1932. White glaring light on roads is DUMB!
my street got ugly silver ones few weeks back
No, it's LPS, to P-LL.
thats HPS ( high pressure sodiam) to CFL or LED
905 will return to the MHR in a new livery
Once again the steam enthusiasts go were they please and ignore the 'do not go beyond' signage.
dont they look weird though?
I mean loads
Dorset loafs
They're doing this in Hampshire also.
That'd be mercury to SON.
They did this in our neighborhood back in early January. Except it was from blue to orange.
wooooahhh shut up it was bloody cold that day
wooaaaaahh... hold the camera still
I got an old steet light from them
How long did it take to replace the lights?
@jonnanna LOL yes Dead, they where filmed in between Nothing lol they where the only freight that came through nothing came up from Southampton hopefully Friday will be a better day that's the day i bagged my first pair of 70's lol
"Dead Days??!!" mega convoy and a fastline 66? Jammy
@Extremes975 LOL not as bad as Godalming Surely?
Good one. Both Draper and Cromwell were really going. Please have a look at my vid of Draper leaving Waterloo earlier that day. Thanks B Kendler
@pinza55007 Cheers John, was a fantastic day quite lucky that Tangmere didn't manage to make it,, gave me my first mainline black 5 & Ollie plus getting them both at sped is just top notch.
The cherry picker nearly ran the guy at 4:07 over!
@pinza55007 lol jump? lol that's an understatement! lol
@pinza55007 lol it was that other bloke you where talking to who was the worst as you saw with the 377, at least you duct lol cheers!
@MrCreepy101 Yeah only took notice because it was an straight hundred then saw the plate, As pinza55007 said to me at Eastleigh, with sheds they are so common that you could go up to say Bristol on a Wednesday and see it, then go down to Eastleigh for example Thursday and see it there! but you do get a lot of variety 66 wise through
@pinza55007 LOL indeed, Glad i went up the end of the platform, Was indeed, theres a steamer through on the 14th (apparently a return trip so if you cant make the morning run its through early evening i think) so i'll be there Saturday. Yeah going to find some time to watch dome of your archives mate, good amount of action at Hilsea yesterday as well from your video!!
Nice to see the real 66200 about, I've got an 'N' gauge model of that one :)
@MrCreepy101 not just 1 Mr C ;) Video 3 shows a Celeb 70 ;) I was spoilt rotten by the rail enthusiast god haha yeah was lovely to see a red prototype shed :) I thought that was going to be the highlight.. oh how i was wrong! lol
Brilliant, just simply brilliant!!!!! 59206 is one thing, but after my catches with the 380s on Tuesday I'm so glad you managed to see the 70 out and about, fantastic :D
I'd love to go, I just haven't got the time. I'm trying to save some cash for driving lessons but am also looking at trying to get to Ipswich some time in the future.
@MrCreepy101 Cheers mate, The best is yet to come in P2 & 3 modern wise ;) would love to go to swanage just for the 3cig on Sunday but I'm sure that will be hogged all day plus not sure if i could afford the travel on the train, the bus fair to the Swanage railway & admission costs. so will have to pass,
@jonnanna Cheers Jon, :) yeah can't afford the return leg, but you should get them
Brilliant video Dave, loved that convoy of locos at the end. It's not every day you see a 57, 56, 37, 55 and 52 in the same train! 5*
Great vid Dave.Hope i can see the convoy on the way back!
