    my diff also whine on acceleration and deceleration, but sound like you have,i only have when driving 93mph.. i thought that gear set was bad but it was changed before by another guy and looks new, is it possible that it is same problem as you have?

    • @gjl07
      @gjl07 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First be careful with the police if you reach 100 and they catch you can go to jail, second it could be the Bering, sometimes buying cheap bearing can get bad again, I prefer to spend in good parts specially if its a difficult to access and replace part , at 93 that's pretty high revolutions ,but also what king of gear oil did you add some of them are better eliminating the noise, I used purple max .

      @@gjl07i used liqui moly 75-140.. i also had small metal pieces in oil, we cleaned diff, then checked after 500km and there was another small metal piece in oil.. idk where is it coming from because gears look new and without any damage.. im hopeless 😅

    to anyone watching, I've modded and know a lot of people who modded v6 mustangs, just get an 8.8 and be done with it, i've seen more then a couple BONE STOCK motor V6 Mustangs blast a 7.5 to pieces after wasting hours and hours putting a posi and the gears they wanted on their 7.5, then realize they could have just put in an 8.8 in half the time for the same $$$ if not less if you look around, Im the V6 mustang guy, I've modded 4.0s 3.8s etc one of the best parts of the 2011-2014 3.7L V6 cars is Ford finally broke open the piggy bank and put in a proper 8.8

    My '07 GT is doing it only on deceleration. Any load at all it goes away. Ford garage says it needs new differential $1700 (although they never even took the cover off) so took to two different independents that say no biggie and don't worry about it until it makes noise both when accelerating and decelerating. My 94 year old dad says he suspects carrier bearing.

    Great video! I used it to change my gauge overlay on my '05 GT to KPH and used your video as a "how to". Everything was spot on - except I used a couple of spoons instead of forks to remove the needles. They popped right off. I should have zeroed out the needles (like you said) before removing them. It would have made things simpler when I put everything back together. So, I ended up having to recalibrate the gauge needles "on-the -fly" using a GPS. But your video and tips saved me from a possible frustrating gauge overlay swapout. BTW, I liked your music....I haven't heard Men at Work in years!

    You gotta use carbide-tipped fluted bits....Norseman brand is what I used....sliced through it in 30 mins with the method I wrote in the previous comment...

  • @brujo2u
    @brujo2u 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    OK...HERE'S HOW YOU DO IT....Thank you gji07 for your vid.....I tweaked your idea here per my fabricating buddy and got awesome results. Got and get yourself some Norseman fluted Drill bits with carbide plated tips. 1/4 inch and 3/8. get you a drill. I used a midgrade Wallyworld drill. Next and this is important. get you a ratchet strap ..the kind with a crank on it. now get under ur vehicle. Start your hole by hand. nice and slow...slow speed high torque. oil the cut....once it's a bit drilled and won't slip, tie up the strap so that you can wrap it around the back of the drill after you position it in place. It'll be wrapped around the whole dif. Just figure it out so that when you crank on it it pulls the drill into the forward...You are going to be laying under the dif holding on to the drill with your right hand and pressing the button while balancing the drilling force with the ratchet strap handle. Just go slow. play with the angle and be careful not to bend the bit...I did a bit with the first (smaller) bit...but it wasn't enough to matter. then I switched to the larger bit and opened that sucka up.....it went in about 30 mins...nice and easy. considering it's hardened steel it cut like butter. ...If you drill in the center it should cut the pin in half like mine did......Good luck. Again..thanks for the vid sir, much appreciated....

    Great video. I know this is an older video but I'm having the same issue in my 03. I learned some things from other videos and from previous repairs. That pulley nut is I real pain with the motor mount in the way. Also pre lubing the pump is must. It keeps it from starting it dry. Its why I put new oil in a new filter when doing an oil change. Also need to make sure all the O rings are moved to the new assembly.

    Get a #6x1/4 OD X1" aluminum spacer from home depot. Slide it in to the hole where the bolt came out of. This will protect the threads and help center the drill bit. Get a Dewalt 1/8 x12 long drill bit. Put the drill into the sleave that is in the hole. Slowly drill making sure to lubricate bit with WD-40. Drill till you can't see threads on drill bit anymore (which would be about halfway into the cross pin) Get a 1/8 & 1/4 bolt extractor from Auto Zone. Carefully and I mean carefully tap the extractor into the hole that you drilled. The extractor has bad reviews and can break easy but it will do the job. Slowly and gently get adjustable wrench on end of extractor and turn and pray. This worked for me today. Ending up not have to damage any threads or pin. Just replace bolt with new one and be on my way. Lay a rag in the bottom of the diff to catch loose metal shavings and make sure to clean all shavings out. If you want an instant easy answer delievered via amazon to your door, Yukon makes a kit which comes with drill bit, two different extractors, a bolt that is hollow to guide the drill bit but its like $50 on amazon. I spent $15 at lowes, home depot and auto zone for all the stuff named above. I will be uploading a how to video in a couple weeks of how I did mine and detailing all the part numbers

    • @kimiko41
      @kimiko41 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you get a left-handed drill bit and drill in reverse, it'll likely back the bolt out itself while you drill so you don't even need the cheap bolt extractor. Drilling with normal bits will drive the screw further in. McMaster Carr sells them individually if you don't want to buy a full set, they're a lifesaver for broken bolts.
