I am curious if those wee tiny unimpressive inexpensive speakers you have in the background facing us from behind your sitting area being behind that couch if those are your main listening speakers or hopefully are only your rear effects speakers for home theater. Certainly hope they are surround speakers as you could not possibly be able to extract the full or even close to full musical detail and performance of any of those records you've spent $$ on. 😊

Nice, eclectic mix there, Andy. Can't argue with 'Wish You Were Here', 'I Just Can't Stop It', and 'The Original Soundtrack'. All great, and 'I'm Not in Love' is a perfect break-up song.. Those three Genesis albums are ones I still listen to, and always will. Same with 'Argus'. Good suggestion at the end. 👏🏻

I’m looking forward to mogwai new album also doves and squid are releasing new albums in February .. to your point about welcoming questions from other people I did include one last year and I did mention who provided it .. hindsight is a wonderful thing eventually I’ve learnt to now stay out of vc politics.. I think I’d decided I didn't like them for whatever reason, but after seeing your review and the pro-Palestinian title of their latest album, I decided to have a listen. I now own four albums. I have seen this album in a lot of lists. Next year I plan to try to like Radiohead. If I’m successful I will see if I can like Smile. Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves lol. Merry Christmas Andy, thanks for the countdown

That album has been topping a lot of lists Andy, it even made mine. Now someday I need to get around doing that video. That was a pretty good album for a 65 year old ! Such a great age!!!

Hi Andy, a bit like Morecambe and Wise and Andre Previn, all the right notes but not necessary in the right order, or in my case a few of the right records and definitely not in the right order. I started to run out of steam a bit on the second side of cutouts, but a wholly enjoyable pair of albums that I've ranked very highly. I'd personally go for wall of eyes with just a Rizla between the two. My favourite album of the year is REZNs' excellent postprog album Burden, and on the less heavy side Beth Gibbons' beautiful masterpiece Lives outgrown. What an outrageously good year for new music it has been! Merry christmas!

Wonderful album and I would go as far as saying it’s their best. I saw them at the MEO arena in Lisbon back in October and was blown away by the songs from Wild God. Nick’s energy as well!!! Agree about the packaging Andy. It’s awful. I’ve kept my inner sleeve on the outside.

I like this album but i still cant say its near my favourite Nick Cave albums. Some great tracks, the title track will be on playlist
