anu sri _Just as what Ive expected anu sri!_ _I gained 6" in my vert. I just completed my district volleyball season_ _and we did very well taking 2nd in state. Now the season was over,_ _I will finish the workouts. :) Looking forward to the next month in this.:))_
not much to me.. @jasonkddoe me too! In a short period of time, i gained 5" higher. It has helpd me so much that even other players have noticed the difference. The program is an excellent tool for people who are wanting to reach their vert potential. Anyway, u got the name of the site mispelled. It shud be: JumpHigher [dot] info
And his height and vertical, I assume, are the only reasons you have to believe he would be good... being generally athletic will not make you good at any sport. But even height and vertical are pretty poor indicators of how good you will be. They are somewhat necessary (especially vertical), but they alone won't make you any good.
I don't want to be a nag about this... but Leonel Marshall (Cuba; youtube him) supposedly has 50" vertical (Lebron's is like 35-40, and I would guess closer to 35 now... and your outright vertical is less affected by your weight than your blocking height would be (standing vertical))... Just sayin, when you comment on world class athletes by saying "imagine if () played", it's a little insulting to the people who DO play.
I'm not saying they couldn't be good ever... but at their current weights, they would add nothing that isn't already there... that was what I said. They would not be any better than the people who already play, under any circumstances.
I'm not saying they are too slow. Hitting a volleyball hard requires much less muscle mass all over than the (relatively) more physical basketball. Just like basketball requires less than football. So if they wanted to be at peak performance, yes, they would be better off losing weight. Lebron's like 280. He would destroy his knees and ankles swing blocking regularly at that weight. Basketball places much different demands on your body.
LeBron is a disgrace, and it doesn't have a lot to do with his playing ability. As for assuming he would just be good... have you ever seen people who can't play vb try to play vb? I'm sure he could learn, and he has the height to do it, but simply being tall and being able to jump do NOT make you good at vb. And a lot of people are good at basketball but not volleyball. Strange as it may seem.
I wouldn't say most hitters... most do come close, that is true. Those guys would have to lose weight though. Just like if Bolt gained 30 pounds and still ran a 9.9... he would have to lose weight to get to performance weight FOR SPRINTING. Those guys would most likely cause a lot of problems on the court, weighing probably 50 pounds more on average. You could still hit with that, but swing blocking, etc. would be tough, or at least tougher than it needed to be. They aren't ideally built for vb.
The difference in spiking height is more like 2 feet, and the net is 8 inches higher... so it's not so bad... ? Also, we do have to hit against people who jump just as high, too...
FIVB requires like 16+ feet clear on all sides of the court. Kinda sucks, but definitely a must if you ever watch these matches. Many digs go that far off the court.
There is literally nothing that either of those two would add to the game that isn't already there, not sure why you are mentioning it... It's not exactly common to reach over 12 feet in volleyball, but certainly not unheard of. Many national teams have at least one player in that area. Not to mention, that is a pretty poor measure of their ability to play volleyball, which involves a lot more quickness than basketball. Both players would probably have to lose weight.
That was my exact reaction from this whole video... FUCK that... as a short left side who relies a lot on power and seams... that would be a nightmare. If I ever hit against a team that could throw a seamless triple block like that up all the way across the net that fast, I would just take off my shoes and leave the gym immediately.
@sexymani10 Id prefer Dwight Howard, but one thing that always surprises me superstar athletes don't cross over into other sports very well. Its like they are the best a human can be at THAT sport.
These guys can jump higher, than a few people I know's futures!
I dont know much about volleyball, but after watching Haikyuu I can see just more than plays from this video :O
