Turkey Gravy - from Scratch w/ Homemade Turkey Broth leftover from Roasting a whole Turkey #cooking
If you just roasted a whole turkey (or chicken for that matter) broth and gravy should be the next things on your list to tackle. There are multiple ways to approach that; here's an easy one!
Chop 1/2 an onion, a couple stalks of celery and a couple carrots.
With the turkey neck and giblets (if they're there) from the turkey; saute in a sauce pan and add 4 cups of water, let simmer for a few hours while the turkey roasts in the oven. I added herbs de province, but you can season it however much or little you like.
Once the turkey is done; you can add the broth into your pan drippings from the turkey and then ladle into a CIV overtop of a large sauce pan.
Once everything is filtered out you can put your broth into awaiting mason jars. You'll likely be using this in the next day or so, so no need to properly can it. Put a lid on the jars and put them in the fridge, should be good for up to a week or so but let your nose be your guide if over 4 or 5 days.
The fat in the broth will rise to the top, which is convenient for making gravy because that's the first thing you need anyway.
Spoon out the turkey fat from one of your jars and once it starts to bubble, add about 1/4 cup of flour and stir continually. You want a thickened but still somewhat runny consistency here. add more fat/oil or flour to achieve that and then continually stir that in the hot skillet for a good couple of minutes.
Add the rest of the congealed broth in the jar and bring to a boil - add a glug or two of milk or heavy cream and stir - taste for salt/pepper and adjust if needed and you should be there.
Do this just as everything else is done and you're about to call everyone to take their places at the table.

It won't get any easier than this, Folks! You can make this a few days in advance. In fact, it's said that it will actually be better the longer it sits (within reason of course). It should last a week or so in the fridge. 1 Large Orange 12oz Cranberries 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 1/4 tsp salt cinnamon optional On Medium/high heat Zest as much of the orange as you can, and then squeeze the juice...

I had something similar at a restaurant and wanted to recreate it at home; it took me a few tries and a few different recipes to finally work through the mess of unreliable information to come up with a totally not over-complicated in any way version (as many other recipes online, very much are for some reason). As usual, the name is what I've seen it referred to as, or experienced similar dish...

It's Chili Season! Parmesan Crusted Baked Chicken Breast with Oven Roasted Jarrahdale Pumpkin Wedges
มุมมอง 101หลายเดือนก่อน
This turned out pretty good, we'll definitely make this again! Pre-heat oven to 350F Pumpkin is easy and this would work with just about any variety of pumpkin or squash; carefully cut it into manageable sized portions and place onto an already oiled baking sheet. Drizzle with EVOO and salt and pepper. Bake for 30-45 minutes. Cut your chicken breasts through to make 2 thinner pieces (you could ...
Slow Cooked Crock Pot Country Ribs - There's no easier method for great country ribs!

Smoker-Bros please look the other way. Ain't nobody got time to mess with slow smoking ribs all day. As always, I've got no beef with smokers, etc but the majority of home cooks don't have access (or ambition) and so we're using items in the kitchen that most people are likely to have at their disposal. Ribs, Country Ribs, Baby Back, St. Louis Style, Beef short Ribs, use this for all of them! M...

This is the only way to make gravy my friend 😊😊 absolutely delicious 😋 Happy Thanksgiving Kevin 😊
Candied yams are FANTASTIC , and yours looks absolutely delicious Kevin 😊😊
Thanks so much! 😊. Happy thanksgiving! I hope you’re doing well!
@MurfsKitchen Happy Thanksgiving Kevin 😀
People… please do not put your slow cooker in the locked down position while cooking. That is only for transporting food safely…not while it is plugged in! Read the instructions 🙏🏼
That’s a GREAT looking chili! Love those colorful bell peppers. This was a fun collab!
Love this on the holidays. One of my favorites next to my turkey.
Dont crack your eggs on the corner of the bowl. Thats why you had to remove pieces of the shell that fell in like 3 times. Instead crack them on a glat surface. It will reduce the risk of bacteria getting into your food….
@@danielgutierrez-jw6tx thanks for watching!
Looks delicious!!👍👍

SOOOO STUPID!!! ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD SHOW A PIE SO CLOSE U CANT C IT WITH NO RECIPE.... DUMB AZZ
Nicely done!
This looks incredibly delicious Kevin 😊😊😊 and the music is sooo wonderfully soothing 😊😊😊
It was awesome! I probably should have doubled up on the sauce. Butter, Worcestershire and lemon juice is an outstanding combination on anything!
Perfect for this time of year. I like chipotle peppers and the smokiness it brings out, great looking pit of chili!
Peanut butter
@@SARA-e5l2z same! Good choice!
That looks so delicious Kevin 😊😊😊I love chili 😋
Do you have a link or brand for your frying pan? Chili looks amazing too.
@@michaeltoney1160 I’d love to find an other one. It’s a Guy Fieri branded enameled cast iron skillet purchased at a Marshall’s about a decade ago. Never seen one like it since and I’ve looked online a time or two but never found quite the same thing.
Nice
Man I'm dying for a sandwich now but you got it wrong they used way less salami and way more baloney and used american cheese but it's your sandwich make it the way you like
It’s a good one for sure! I always recalled it as Colby but I was young at the time that these were floating around. Do you remember banana peppers though? That seems to be the biggest yes or no for most people.
@@MurfsKitchen I don't remember the peppers but your right a lot of people do I mostly remember the round ham & cheese sandwiches that came in a bag of 5 or 10
This looks GREAT and easy. Can't wait to make it tomorrow.
@@TheImmortalDivine I love it! It hits me right in the nostalgia, as my Mama made this a lot (especially for potluck style outings). I always looked forward to it and get excited when I see it on the table when we go somewhere else. Thanks for watching! Kick it up a notch by adding your favorite pizza toppings!
Where is the cheese?
@@marysander8174no thanks, hold the cheese pls.
Wasteful with green pepper.
@@marysander8174 you can really tell in the end product too. My wife told me it tasted like I wasted green pepper. Thanks for watching!
This looks delicious Kevin 😊😊😊I love the roasted pumpkin 🎃 😋
What type of pepper and onion? Sweet Green White Yellow
@@bunnybubs757 green bell pepper and Vidalia onion but it’d be good with just about any pepper or onion.
@@MurfsKitchen thank you!
Cubanelle or Pablano peppers and white onion is more common. Grated Mozzarella or Parmesano.
@ thanks!
Too slow to watch

I think technically, they are, Sir. :) Thanks for watching!
Good recipe but hate hate the music.
Yum!! This is an awesome hearty meal and looks so delicious!! I never thought to add dark beer with the beef broth. Sounds good!
This looks absolutely delicious Kevin 😊😊😊
Love the addition of the sauerkraut. That's the real Hungarian way. Had an older man who made the world's best stuffed cabbage also add sour cream too. It was phenomenal and the best I've ever had.
That's an awesome breakfast Murf, hearty as heck!

That no doubt tastes great but I'm definitely a 'toss your pasta through your sauce' person .... 😋
That's the finishing move! I debated putting that part on camera or not. Plate, Carry to table, twist and fold, chow down. In retrospect, a bit of twist and fold on camera and then another good ladle of sauce on top would have been a good touch! Thanks for watching!
I just made spaghetti and meatballs last night 😊😊 yours looks fantastic Kevin 😊😊
