Here I attempt to upload only what I can't find anywhere else. Don't expect new releases, and for the most part, games featured will adhere to a certain standard of quality (subjective). I'm just here to have a bit of fun and record footage of games I'm going to play anyway. Might as well throw up some content in case anyone enjoys my un-funny, nervous-talking, commentary and my gameplay. Thanks for watching. If you have a request, and I can get my hands on the game you want to see, maybe there'll be more playthroughs than the few I've planned?

Already the second community episode because, well, we had enough footage for another one from the first session! There'll be a gap in community sessions like this for a while, but the next one will likely be solo or with Slip (PJA) and/or Sandblaze. Look forward to it!

The first episode and first COMMUNITY episode of the all-ground custom game. A bit tame, for this first episode, but also full of a lot of learning experiences. We ARE practically playing a different game here, now.

I think I said enough in the video, but just in case: This is a reading of, and on-the-spot additions to, some notes I have for my current DnD party regarding one of my book ideas. The campaign they're playing through in weekly sessions takes place in the world of the book, after the events intended for publication. Think of it like a spoken archive.

Whole video he held 2 krak nades and zero zoantrops being killed, PlayStation player🤷🏼♂️
I didn't know yet, imagine that. Almost like it's possible to play a game and not read up on everything and make progress at your own pace. Elitists ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Add me shiiii
Was expecting the song but sadly not. Prob for copyright. But lovely video. Did a good job
Ty so much for this excellent and detailed guide - I like your style in terms of showing everything in one take and all the little footnotes - you really turned your passion about the game into a clear layout of its mechanics - this is very helpful.
@@mathiascasaer Glad you found it useful!!
Here 2 years later and still a very helpful video
I'm glad it still gets use!
Great video. Microprose has always been awesome. My first purchased PC game ever was Sid Meier's F-19 Stealth Fighter.
I'm not sure how much they were involved with the game besides publishing; Geometa was the developer here, and they also made a rescue game published by MicroProse
I loved this game was to young to appreciate it at the time lol crazy how you still maken videos I'm 8 years late but stay blessed keep it up 🎉
@@derionesperon7267 Never too late as long as the videos don't get taken down! Glad I could leave something for you to find of these games!
@glyphknightmax yeah I'm pretty sure your video was this first one that popped up crazy tho 8 years 😳 and I'm glad you left it behind I'm 25 always wanted to do TH-cam maybe I'll pick them up 1 day 2 just for the memories dw if I ever do I'll be sure to tell them who the og was 💯
Also om a game note I never knew this game was so complex lol kid me was like robot fighting cool I can change colors cool lmfao 😂😂😂
So heaven A is for stat improvement, and Heaven C is for rare weapons.. What is heaven B for? Elixer skin? I guess it's hard to answer so many years later 😂
@@chrisburnett3575 Well, technically, all of them are good for stats, since after a while running the tower gives you basically nothing. And all of them are good for elixir since you either get refunded what you spend or you have piles of drops you don't need you can sell! Play what you find fun and you'll make progress!
It took me forever to find the name of this game. I googled 'psp darksouls warframe' but neither of those games existed when rengoku was realeased. Ha. I bought this game when i was 13 going on a 11 hour flight to montreal. Thanks for making these videos. Hope your winter depression got better in the 8 years since 😂 I'm playing it now on ppsspp and loving it
@@chrisburnett3575 Well, I'm not dead after promising to live at least to age 30 (I'm 31!), and I'm glad you were able to find the game again! It definitely feels like the predecessor to both those games, doesn't it? I still have ambitions for a successor game, but I'm only starting to learn coding in two days. Long story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy all there is to find! Maybe try Hellpoint on Steam!
Do you have any links to the mods you are mentioning in this guide btw? :) Thx so much!
@@DonCorleoneNL I don't, but they are in the Steam Workshop. The UI mod is especially useful, but I'm not sure if Apocalypse's sound mod is up to date. If I get the chance a little later, I can search em up and link them
I wish I could just rip a save of a fully completed Heaven in rengoku 2 because I really want to upload all of the images and concept arts in higher quality. I just don't have the patience to sit through a multi day grind just to beat heaven and get the audio files and intros and cutscenes and illustrations. I don't think I could sit through 500 floors worth of Rengoku 2. Don't get me wrong, the game is great, but I'd rather do 500 floors in rengoku 1 rather than 2. Trying to find high quality gryphus concept art is quite literally impossible and it sucks so much.
Truly. Especially after Demon Slayer named a character Rengoku. I have saves, and I definitely would go through again, but I kinda figured there was no point by now. As long as ISOs survive and I can make a game LIKE it one day, that's enough for me
Thank you for this guide! I haven't finished the whole video yet but I had a quick question. Is using a controller better than mouse/keyboard and why?
@@brookss2141 Not anymore it's not. They overhauled the controller support because people kept asking for the flight stick compatibility and it totally ruined button mapping and stick support. Unless that's been addressed, which I don't think it has, controller support is borked for now. Maybe for good. You can still make it work, and I recommend it if you intend on controlling air units yourself, particularly helicopters, but be prepared for some degree of strangeness
@@glyphknightmax thank you! I appreciate it.
Where is Lorenzo?! Only 2 of his tracks seem to exist online but I have like ten of his. He did great work.
I wish I knew. I only preserved this because it was in a Metal Sonic AMV from way back in the day
@@glyphknightmax Good job man. I am thinking of posting all the tracks of his I have on youtube as a tribute/callout and maybe we can find him.
This is the floor 2 experience.
I did you get access to this planet?
We had access briefly and when I saw we'd lose it, I got some footage. I plan to do that in the future so there's something of each planet toward the outer rims.
This was a great guide. As mentioned in another comment, I played the original CC back in the day and this was really useful to learn how the mechanics have been implemented!
relatively new to the game, thanks for the great guide
I'm just glad it's still relevant! I might make an update to it after the next patch the devs do, if we ever hear from them again, to cover the Mule and other additions
wow this was really usefull and helpfull, thx alot for making this detailed guide my man!
It should still be up to date on Steam too, if you need a quick reference! Happy to help! I hope I have to update it at some point with some new features, though, but I guess we'll see!
Dude thanks for your videos! You are the wiki of this game ! nobody else has this information!!
That's why I made em... I still want to make a spiritual successor. Should be able to start the college classes this year, since I have a job that can afford them

I wonder, kinda new to the game and had my first air encounter, I spotted the hangar well ahead of time but of course as I sent in a helo to deal with the planes they took off... Can I hit enemy planes while they are sitting under their hangar?
You can! A cruise missile works best on islands that are 2-shield or lower, but 3+ usually have CIWS. In those cases, you'll need UnGuided Bombs, like a small, medium, or large (CIWS ignore bombs like that). It's always best to fire an AA missile if you hear the alert BEFORE you check what is firing at, too, so be sure to carry lots of AA missiles, up to 100
@@glyphknightmax Thank you! Gonna try it, gonna have to clear my first 3 shield one soon, running low on recon drones ^^;
Man, that Odogaron is very hard, and hunting with great sword is harder
Oh, I was SO BAD with the greatsword back then! OMG
@@glyphknightmax I´m really bad so I use lance or gunlance LMAO
Hey, now, nothing wrong with any weapons; they all take different skills to use! What matters is the kill! If you win the fight and come home with the good stuff, you're playing the game right!
never knew you could drop fuel tanks like bombs in this too; i know of F-4 Phantoms doing that back in vietnam days. I recently got into this game and your guides are very helpful. Keep it up.
Hey, thanks! The update at the end of this month, Sept. 2022, looks promising too, so now's a good time to get started!
This something I’ve really wanted to see.
I didn't go terribly far, but I still have the save. Been too anxious since the last recording to just chill with the game how I like
Been playing it again myself. I actually really like IR missiles myself, they just really don’t like losing their target. The fact that they will automatically attack ANY target they can find when they lose lock is a frustrating but realistic quirk.
Nice, im assuming barges can get destroyd also? I noticed my barge disapeared..
They can if they get attacked. You want to make sure they have a safe path to you. They have a TON of HP, but even they can't survive an enemy fleet attacking them for long
@@glyphknightmax Ok my friend, thank you, just bought another...
finally some1 show me how to play the game....thx
Thanks for making these guides! I played the original Carrier Command when I was a kid.
This is my first one, and I still have high hopes for it. Fingers crossed that the devs at Geometa give us full mod support one day
How to die in 7 easy steps; 1: Open self destruct panel on the floor. 2: Insert key. 3: Activate four conformation buttons. 4: Click secondary confirmation button to release self destruct command. 5: Activate self destruct. 6: Wait. 7: Die.
god dame ur game runs so fast n smooth
This is basically war frame before warframe
I can kinda see where you're coming from with that, sure.
I know this wasn't made for me, but wow!!! I always forget the amount of effort that goes into homebrew campaigns, they're always fantastic! This is really interesting, and I hope the players have a good time.
Now, to be fair, this was effort put into a book idea that I ended up running a sequel campaign to... To help me figure stuff out for the book when I finally write it. As a DM, a lot of what I personally do is made up on the spot. Names, what things look like, etc. If you want, I can make a higher quality video discussing HOW to do this.
I’m really glad I managed to find this video this game is one of my favorite psp game ^.^
Same
Do you still remember rengoku?
I'm starting to learn game design literally tomorrow to one day make a successor to it
@@glyphknightmax the series really needs recognition for what it is a 3rd installment would have really been nice
ive been doing this method to a t and cant trigger the miliseconds in which this move is valid 0:05 you see the guy ready to pounce on him but no red dot 0:07 you jump, no red dot 0:08 it appears and backstab is possible i swear im doing this following even the orientation of myself and the enemy - even using the same grappling points to get there but the red dot doesnt appear
It's very possible they patched it out by now. This is footage from the week the game released, I'm pretty sure.
@@glyphknightmax yeah its been patched out unfortunatelly
It's unfortunate that you don't post anymore.I'm glad that you posted rengoku 2 content and basically show my entire childhood all over again.I remember meeting someone who knew rengoku 2 and we had a blast talking.I am only 16 so he was surprised someone as young as me knew it especially since it sort of flew under the radar though I have my brother to thank for since he was the one who showed me the game when I was 6.Thanks for letting me see the entire game in it's entirety and hopefully you'll be able to make fireglass become a true thing.I look forward to playing it,someday.
Funny you should say that, I'm planning a new long series soon. All just depends on my PC not dying in the process
Gryphus is ridiculously hard. Only because of his shield. I had to go fists only with 3/4 of his hp remaining. First try baby.
In this game, he has the clockdown system to combat heat builds, and that shield can only soak so much damage. Personally, I like using the AG9s if I can get close and the rotary if I'm at range, but I honestly think the linear cannons are best (Virgilis and the like). Shoot, roll, shoot, roll. Low heat, long range, high damage
@@glyphknightmax My strat on the ng+ was just because, his shield is the Sanctuary shield and that gets shredded by focused blasters (basically the same as his lasers) and I should've kept the AG9's on as well but for some reason I went in with Focused Blasters on my arms and head while the only dps weapon I had was the Rotary Cannon. But I feel like it'd be possible to melt gryphus if you had liquid coolants for legs, 2 AG9's for both arms, Lasers for your head and Rotary Cannons for the chest. Since the quantum damage shreds his shield like crazy, then the AG9's melt + chip damage at range with Rotary Cannons. This game seems to be min-max heavy and I love it.
A modern version of this game would do well i think, it was ahead of its time... but if it came today it would have a huge cash shop and all the cool stuff would cost extra money lmao
Bud, if I had the know how and funding, I'd prove you wrong.
@@glyphknightmax Its gonna cost you alotta millions lol. This games great
@@jonathansoko1085 Remember: Subverse was funded on just a million, with a small team
@@glyphknightmax subverse is kinda trash tho man ive had access for awhile to give feedback. Konami helped put this out so i dont know the state of the ip, my guess is konami still has it?
@@glyphknightmax I come back to your videos every now and then, whenever I replay this series, happy yo see you're still answering and invested in Rengoku.
This game will always have a special place in my memories...
It's like that for a lot of people... I still miss it sometimes
Me too, I still remember they badass design and system
What is Pancrantium mode? I played both games to completion and I thank you highly for letting me relive them years later and I agree with your opinions about the story and music etc. The nostalgia for this game blinds me to most of its flaws since it was literally the first game I've ever played but like you said it's not a game you want to play again since you'll end up FEELING like gram by the end. Sick and tired. This is a VERY underground game and you were the only person I could find a proper playthrough for the second game. Another dude who you may have seen did the long-play for the 1st game which I liked ( I prefer the 1st game btw storywise but the second game takes it gameplay wise) There's alot of things I want to write in this comment but this game makes me feel things I can't put into words and youve expressed most of my thoughts and THEN some so I'm really glad someone else out there played and appreciated this highly flawed but highly moving game. Thank you
I believe Pancratium mode is the PvP, which I never played much of. I miss the game, but I want to make a spiritual successor instead of replay the series over and over. Rengoku 3 being cancelled and Konami being... Konami... means there's a place for such a thing in the gaming world. I also prefer the first game for story and the second for gameplay, but I confess that I haven't watched anyone else play it. In the same way that I don't read fanfiction, but I will write it, I don't usually watch TH-cam videos about games I myself made content for. I'm happy to hear from another fan. I get people like you SOMEWHERE on the channel about once a month, and it's always a welcome occurrence. Hopefully someday I can reward all these people with a game announcement. Thank YOU for your time.
@@glyphknightmax Yeah the games are about breaking cycles through change, it would be weird if we kept playing the same things over and over again. I wish you the best of luck on your future projects and hope they bring you success
You should play Let It Die if your still into this kind of game, very similar gameplay style but using dead people instead of robots. Awesome review so far, I'm watching it in small chunks lol
I miss this game so much. I’m hoping to make a revamped version of the game such as better graphics, 60 FPS,etc. But also to bring more awareness of this game because it was soooo underrated
You and me both. I still hold on to my dream of a spiritual successor, even though I allowed myself to be led away from the ability to make it on my own in college. Someday... Someday.
Rengoku 1 had, in my opinion, a better storyline. Simple, pure, more brutal and the ending was quite satisfying. Rengoku 2 gameplay was better tho.
Do you play Rengoku on an actual PSP or other means like on a Vita or emulation?
Dude, I WISH I owned a Vita. The playthrough you're watching is emulation on PPSSPP on... Not Windows 10. It's been a few years, lol
Would playing on a Vita have any upsides? I know it has a better screen but seems like you would want go for the second analog stick all the time even though PSP games couldn't utilize it. Almost as if playing on the PSP would make for a better overall experience.
also I just got to the point in the video where you talked about playing on an emulator
2:11 It's not piracy if the game is impossible to find.
I mean, it technically still is... Konami still owns the rights. But, I also recorded all my Rengoku videos before I'd started my major courses in college for law and criminal justice, so I know better now...
would legit go to church jus to see the old lady/man shred this on the organ
Now that you mention it, so would I.
The first game had a relatively simple mystery that managed to get a lot of depth out of surprisingly little dialogue. This game seems to be trying to tell a more complicated story, but in the process sacrifices that depth. A trade-off between depth and breadth if you will.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but apart from the story, the second Rengoku is way better in every other regard.
