Massawa Work and Play 1985
Massawa, my favorite city, was a ancient city with Turkish style buildings and homes. I felt privileged to work for the people of that region and to share what knowledge and resources we had. It was an experience of mutual learning and gratification. Tadesse, my co-worker and friend, along with Mekonnen and I assessed the conditions of the people and offered solutions when possible. Although this was a during a long war in the 1980s, the people persevered with dignity and courage.

Adgi, We remember and never forget. I you have no idea about Massawa/Batxie/Messewa3e history and surroundind. The nativ will rememeber 1967( Eilet, Gumot, Embiremi) 1975 (Embiremi, Massawa, Highigo), 1976 (Hirghigo) , 1977-78 (Whole Semhar abay, Dogali, Salina), 04.1988 Martyr ( Scheib-Gedged) 1989-90 (from north Semhar to Massawa, Ginbar Gindae ). Answer your parents or read books, the nativ of Semhar almost disappeared. Glory to our martyrs
@EritreanKing007 what you saying is right but all that happened by Ethiopian we understand the war casualties ! What about the last 34 years under Dictator isaias Agammee destroying every thing and hes telling you out loud ( ባጽዕ ኣላ - የላን * ቀደም ሉል ዝነበረት ህጂ ዑና ኮይና ተረሚሳ ) this is his word ur beloved doctor Agammee ( ሽይጣን ኣዲ ሓሎ ) yesterday he make you carry Ethiopian flag like a donkey steel you are ssupporting 🤣 ወሽላኽ
@@mesfinabraham6412 It's your Agame (TPLF/EPRDF) brothers helped by evil US, EU, UN...With sanctions, wars, divide the people by tribe, religion, regions....Eritreans. But at the end your Agame brothers paid the heavy price by the Tegadalay, Warsay, Mendelay. Tigray become like in 1973, 1984-85, with the sellfish and ingnorant leaders. Eritrea for Eritreans. TPLF/AGAZIANS/Adgi-Nihamedu go to hell. PS it's better to carry Ethiopian flag than Tigrayan flag. But Amharas, Oromos, Wolayta. Hadiya, Soddo, Konso, BeniShangul, Sidamas.....are all your brothers.
@mesfinabraham6412 You have no clue the meaning of war, large scale massacres. Dissapperance of villages or regions.
@EritreanKing007 yes i do 🙏 Eritrea's lost more civilian after independent by dictator isaias Agammee wedi tembin than during the war with Ethiopia ✅

I'm Eritrean left home 1979 8years old, some much memories . Lost much of my the one I care . Old new!!
Beautifull Massawa, but as an Eritrean seening this pictures takes me to remember and never to forget the dark and bleak situation, I was fortunate not to endure what my people and the horn at large went through and still somehow, going through may be slightly better, the west have a great responsibility and ha 2 be made accountable for all the destruction of humans and environmental chatstrophy under the guise of democracy, human rights and other subjective issues they brought on us. The wester citizens must pay attention to our plight and understand us what your politicans are doing to us! It's morally and politically repugnant to threat another human being to get rich. Thanks
It's a shame that you come here to lie
Usually photos and videos from this era are black and white so this is definitely a treasure!! 🙏🏾Were you visiting from the US?🇺🇸
Thanks for your comments. I was working there.
