Good addition making the trigger card higher and the Ace as an unconditional trigger.
you should try adding "police" cards (the other joker or maybe a figure or an ace): when you turn a police card from one of the jail piles, you add X card(s) from the deck to that pile (so it gets more difficult to escape)
Humans come up with fun and creative ways to release a prisoner. Cats don’t mess about. Seriously, this is a fun game and I applaud you for coming up with it. I will show this game to others who, like me, are getting tired of the usual solitaire games.
I use to play this game all the time when I was 9 :) so nostalgic 😭
Yoo that's a crazy thought, thank you sharing that with me 😄
IM EXCITED TO PLAY THIS
I love it
Thanks... Ummm... For... Uhh... Making... Ummm... This... Uhh... Video... Umm... And... Uhhh... This... Um... Card... Uhh... Umm.. game.
Umm... thank... ehm... ehm... you!
Did you ever explain what the nine cards did at the bottom? The ones that you turned to the side?
They work the same as the rest of the pile, but at 17:55 I explain why we separate them: it's to keep track of how far down the deck you are. Once you hit the rotated cards, there's just 3 turns left. Hope that explains things!
Was great to meet you, glad you had a great Gamescom!
The cards are so beautiful. Even tho idk dutch i would buy them, i normally use the french version R, D, V but the unmatched beauty
Seems like you enjoyed gamescom! :D It was a pleasure meeting you guys! <3
A very clever idea, I'm looking forward to trying it!
yess yess less gooo
Great vlog, but the cat in the end absolutely stole the show and I will be upset if it won't show up in the next video. 😸
He is good at ensuring he gets attention 😅
What an awesome week!! 🐢🔱
WOHO!
I played this 3 hours and it was super fun. The variation i used had a perfect balance and i won/lost 50/50 The variation used all 52 cards and 1 joker. Put the joker at the middle. Put 8 cards to wall and 3 to corners. Put 5 cards on top of the joker at start Put the remaining 3 cards aside and put them on top of the joker ( or the cards on top of the joker) if nothing else fits. One of the walls and all cards on top of the joker has to be cleared to win.
Sturdy walls, I like it :) thanks for playing!
This is so much fun! I'll leave a follow up comment when I play it a few times
I love solo card games. Very nice.
Tried it and I gotta say I loved it. Short and sweet, easy to learn, and incredibly clever and thoughtful. I'm so sick of solitaire games with no strategy that are all about putting numbers in sequence alternating red and black and just waiting for the one card you need to make progress. Love seeing games for 1 like this. truly a gem
I have another idea you could add. What if you had to break out both the Jokers? If you can't jailbreak both jokers at the same time, when only 1 joker escapes, The escape joker becomes a permanent wall! And the next joker has to escape through another wall. However, Knocking out both corners next to a joker, or 2 corner cards next to the joker of the opposite color as the joker, could be a way to expose and kill off the joker as a revenge bonus. The final joker would basically be the scapegoat joker, so you could probably call the second level "Scapegoat Joker Jailbreak".
Nice addition, thank you!
@@roofkat I've actually been having fun waiting around playing that same game. So thank you!
hello! I just came across this game, and I really enjoy it. I added 2 more cards to the walls and I feel like it made it more fun/challenging. Fantastic job!
Glad you liked it!
finnaly a game that actually uses the joker and is singleplayer
Thank you sir.
I don't have a joker in my deck.
Time to buy another deck :).
Haha getting another deck is an option, but you can also use a card from a different game, or even a business card if you'd like.
Adore this! It's a cold rainy winter's day here im Cape Town, South Africa, and I'm going to play this 😁
Thanks for giving it a try!
I really, really, love this game! Thank you so much for sharing! So fun, and creative! I have also made my own challenging modifications. (Note: I'm several years late on this comment thread, haha, so maybe someone else has already said something similarly? Couldn't read them all so I don't know!) Anyway, here are my little personal tweaks: Originally, as you were teaching us the game, I anticipated that any cards you add together of the same color, to create a sum, ALSO had to be of the same suit! Even though that didn't end up being the case, I went ahead and kept that as a fun challenge! However, because that obviously ups the ante quite a bit, I did not limit myself to how many cards can be piled in the middle on top of the Joker (and just like your rules, I can add to the middle at any point throughout the game, not just when all possible moves on the board have been made). Of course, causing such a pile on top of the Joker can be a little nerve racking, so I also added a twist that if you end up with two cards in the center pile, one on top of the other, that are the same value (regardless of color or suit), you can throw both of those cards out thus reducing center build-up. Lastly, I stuck to your original rule about once the corners are gone--they're gone! So all you can do at that point is add to the middle pile--eek! I don't win all the time, but when I do, I'm so stoked haha! I could probably also play around with how many cards are set on the board initially and that may also increase options/chances of winning maybe? Regardless, the mental fitness is worth it for me! I've been playing for over an hour non-stop. Thank you so much for this game!
Really glad to hear you've been enjoying it, and your variation sounds great! The original design was perhaps a bit easy, so your version sounds like a good twist :)
Bro I won your game this was fun there needs to be no additional to the style of play that you created 👌🏽
Awesome game! Thank you so much for sharing :)
Cheers!
i have a question, what do you use if you have no jokers? a jack? (edit) wait what if you can use objects? that sounds better
Haha yes if you don't have a joker I would recommend using some object! It could be a little figure you have.
TH-cam proposed me this video. I've watched it, And I would love to do a video about it on my solo board game channel. Would you autorize me to do it ?
Hey, thanks for checking in! No problem if you'd like to make a video about it :) If you credit me, and mention it was based on the card game “Clear the dungeon” created by Mark from “Riffle, Shuffle & Roll”, that would be great ^^
@@roofkat That's normal. The video is out now. I have credited you, put a lonk on this video, credited Mark and put a link on his video of clear the dungeon. I hope I did a good job :)
@@83dante60 Nice! I'm afraid I don't see the video on your channel, did you make it public?
@@roofkat Don't worry, that's normal, this is not my solo boardgame channel. The channel is "jeux de société solo" the thumbnails are blue and orange, and the profile pic is just an icon of "1 player" (blue and orange too). I need to be more dynamic in my videos, but I had a really great time playing your game. Really :)
It's kinda similar to "Napoleons tomb"
Best wishes for your funding adventure! Keep us updated! :)
Thank you Matej! Will do ^^
How many cards can I place on top of the joker at the same time?
3 max!
You sound like The Riddler from the Gotham tv show
I'll take it, thanks!
A way to make this more difficult is too have two jokers and when one escapes place 1 card on every pile
Nice idea! One extra layer to complete at the end.
If you say ‘umm’ one more goddamn time I will personally put you in a jail with the joker
Oh no! Luckily I've been practicing for it. 😎
Oh wow, this looks fun! Thanks for sharing!
This is an amazing and fun game that I will use whenever my parents tell me to get off of my electronics because it is very entertaining
Glad to hear you like it :)
Looks cool, what game is this?
The art of your game really evolved... It looks so nice This video deserves more views
Hi
700th sub!
Awesome, thanks!
You do realize 52 cards dosen’t include Jokers, right? I mean for a game with Joker in it’s name
hah, fair point!
Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah
Yeeup that's definitely part of the video 😅
9:20 hurray. but isn't this too simple to win each time?
You can make it quite a bit harder with the added difficulty rules if you'd like :)
5:10 9 diamonds is not higher than 9 of spades. So either you cheated or the rule should be "trigger card must not be lower". 9:00 then your setup is incorrect - you should first remove the jokers and aces. In headcannon, Ace is discard all cards tied to a royal, and joker is move 1 card around to another royal AND trigger it. Must match suit of course. The "normal rules" of your game are pretty much in flux, i.e. everyone is tinkering with its own variation, and no one version has come on top. In your version for example you could come up with a distribution of 3 kings, which would limit your options a lot, or all 3 of a same suit. Then good luck finding a card of a matching suit in time. I dunno, these variants all lack tension.
Hey Kosterix. At 5:10, I explain that the trigger card needs to be higher than at least one of the previously played cards. Because the cards laid down are a 4 and a 9, the value of the trigger card needs to be 5 or above. around 09:00 I explain that if you use a joker or ace in your combination, you cannot retain them in your discard pile, which is something you can do with other cards. If the video was not clear for you, perhaps the page I made here will make more sense: roofkat.itch.io/royalexecution If you have a good variation in mind that has more tension, please feel free to share!
thank you its an amazing game
Happy to hear that!
Si it’s like solitaire and pyramid solitar I like it
Glad to hear!
Fantastic game.. just learned it recently but really it's fun.. thanks buddy
