Apple Toast Kids makes educational videos for kids that are aligned to the CDC developmental milestones and the national Common Core Standards. Our videos are a lot of fun and a little quirky, engaging but not overstimulating. Toddlers all the way up to second graders will enjoy and learn from our early literacy songs, lessons, and games.

Substituting Initial Sounds | Phonemic Awareness Song for Kids
Get your little ones ready to read! This phonemic awareness substituting initial sounds song gets children up and dancing to the sounds in words. It is a multisensory and fun phonemic awareness activity. Use it as a no prep lesson to introduce a new lesson, reinforce substituting initial sounds for those who need additional support, and as a review for those who have mastered this phonemic awareness skill.
The latest research shows that phonemic awareness no longer has to be done "in the dark." On the contrary, it is encouraged that we combine phonics and phonemes (letter-sound correspondence) to strengthen phonemic awareness instruction.
