@@vapordoc they played pretty tight, perhaps a lot of fans expected Tony's sound to be louder but BEAT probably decided that.

This isnt the type of recording you can remotely discern that. Also they ARE old men

Tony's bass was deafening and distorted in Phoenix, I hope it's better on other dates. This is one of my favorite KC tunes.

@@phxhorn6367 probably different in your venue vs the one in this video. Also location of person will affect perception also depending on venue.

@@aerofilmChihuahua for sure different pedals, Vai I believe is using his same setup plus a few little new things.

I don't think it's entirely Vai's fault. I think making it a true double trio with another drummer and bassist would help. The overall sound is anemic without it.

Mr Fripp should be concerned about your apreciation

It's going to be tough to enjoy Adrian and Steve when we have to listen to the drek that KC put out. Two songs and neither of them were when Adrian was in the band. Could be worse, we could get a chance to see them but they are playing Zappa music. I am hoping they do a Album of new songs, that will be a exotic combo of styles with some pop sensibility.

@@jonnykhatru thank you. Idk what was that last dude's hostility about. I've been wanting to see a live rendition of Model Man for half of my life!!! And there's never been one until BEAT came along. I'm only 31, but I collect all the crimson archives and shows and model man is such a great song but it has never been played until now. I have pictures with Adrian, Fripp, and the last Crimson ensemble and all of the vinyl records signed by Belew plus more. I'm definitely not 2 years old.

Love your channel man! Been a lifelong KC fan, seeing them for the first time in December of 1980(or was it 81?) at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver Canada. What an amazing assembly of top tier musicians: the sublime Bruford, my all-time favorite bassist Levin, the legendary genius Mr Fripp, and vocalist/frontman Belew, who did things with his strat and amp that I'd never witnessed. He cajoled and experimented with various angles of his guitar in front of his amp to produce feedback tones and colors not heard since the days of the late great Jimi Hendrix. Of the 50 odd concerts I've attended in my life, this one was in my top 3. Can't wait to hear the gang on November 25th! Especially happy after embarking on a two month online social media campaign of persistent whining, complaining, and begging in the hopes that they'd eventually see the posts and add our city to their tour schedule. As Fripp has often remarked in interviews and blogs, "No good work is ever wasted." Most grateful that my efforts were ultimately not in vain. Thanks again for your excellent MWM channel here! And thanks also for your efforts on what must have been a challenging exercise in transcribing the early 80s KC library. Cheers to you sir! 🍻

@@lurkingfearproductions I didn't, but my brother did, he got his Metal on Metal CD signed by the whole band. Though, I did get the opening act, Serpent Rider, and their vinyl signed.

@@kennethpatrick5342 yes he was sounding a bit low on the gain during first part of show. Then the tube screamer got connected and he was able to get a punchier sound on his guitar! Yes very good show, glad you could enjoy it!
