Desert Ride - KLX300R - Kawasaki

The final video in my Jacob's chair ride. We cruised our KLX300R through the desert, running in to snow drifts along the way. I have loved my Kawasaki KLX300R. It's been a great dirt bike and is perfect for those just beginning in the sport.
KLX300R Desert Riding! Hard Enduro
มุมมอง 3.2K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Things got crazy after road gets washed out bad! We got on our Kawasaki KLX300R's and cruised the desert. Making our way up to Jacob's Chair in south-eastern Utah we had to hop off the bikes and lift them over a giant washed out section of the road. We got stopped by the snow again (really gotta get a timber sled).

Thanks for watching!
Damn I like the green handle bar. I might have to put one on my KLX.
Was a necessity after tucking the front end and bending the stock bars haha. I do love the look of the green bars though. I went with a fat bar as well so was able to put handle bar risers on, which is nice. I'm not super tall but now I don't bend over as much.
Are you still in love with the klx300r? Would you buy it again with seat time on it?
I do love this bike. I'd buy it again for sure. It's the perfect bike for a newbie like me. Once I hone my skills a little more I'll upgrade to a KTM 300, but for now the KLX is perfect.
Good one 👍
Thanks!
awesome bro I've got klx300r as well got a few videos
That's awesome! I love the KLX300R
Looks pretty rough ‼
It was a blast though!
Good one 👍 👍 👍
Thanks!
Always notice the green bar 💚
@@Dastardly_X haha yea had to upgrade to a fat bar because I tucked the front end once and bent the stock handlebars
🤘🏻 🌟 🤘
Thanks for watching!
Get a fuel controller and it will make the bike run much better.
How so? I'm pretty new to riding. This KLX is my first bike
@@darkcanyon8648 That is a great bike to start on and an incredible value for a dirt bike. I have owned both KTM's and Beta's and the KLX is very close to as good as the bikes that cost 2x as much.
Where is this placev
Southern Utah
Good one 🤘 🤘 🤘
Thanks for watching!

Nice footage 👍
Thanks
Looking good 👍
@@Dastardly_X it was awesome! Good winter ride
What trail and where?
Looks like it’s easy enough to pick up 👍
Yea not too bad. I have to pick it up far mar than I'd like to admit haha.
Nevermind, I see that it’s a 300R. 😊
Is that a KLX230R? If so, what kind of forks and triple clamps are on there?
Yea I am riding the KLX300R. Forks and clamps are stock.
Im really of thinking about picking one of these 300Rs up. I havent been on a Dirtbike for a really long time. THis is also my backyard pretty much so seeing it perform where Ill ride mostly was a great help. Have you done any upgrades to it?
Hey, I apologize for the slow response. I haven't done any upgrades on it outside of new handlebars and adding some headlights.
I have a 300r and a kx250 and I love it. Going to the black hills this year on the 300r
That's awesome! I love my KLX300R it's been such a fantastic bike!
Did you do any suspenion mods or adjusting ?.. Thinking about this bike.. 5'-11" 210 beginner / novice and I'd like a desert bike
I haven't done any suspension mods or adjusting. Only things I have altered on my bike was new handle bars with a riser, some wrap around handlebar guards and adding a headlight. Other than that this bike is stock. I have loved it. Its a great bike for the beginner/novice. Thats me. This is actually the first bike I've owned.
Nice video man
Thanks for watching!
are you using the stock tires?
Yea still rocking stock tires. They are about worn out. Almost time to put new ones on.
@@darkcanyon8648 which tires are u gonna put on? I ride east coast with a lot of mud. Stock tires don’t cut it. Have any tire suggestions?
I bought one new in 2021.This bike is top heavy, unstable and dangerous weighing in at 284 pounds. Ridiculously heavy for a 300. I rode it three times and sold it gladly Taki g a 2300 dollar loss. I race mx grand prix in the top of my class but not on a klx.
Thanks for watching and for the opinion. I'm fairly new to dirt bike riding, I stick to the trails. I enjoy the single track rides and feel this bike is built for that. It's definitely more of a budget bike so I'm sure there are things lacking. But for a starter bike I have liked it so far. Someday I'll bite the bullet and buy a KTM 300 XC-W. Mad props on MXGP, that would throw me out of my comfort zone real fast!
@@darkcanyon8648 cool ! I ride 2 stroke suzuki rm 250's now. They stopped in 08 but they are sweet. My 95 and 06 are fresh, weigh 216 and 211 pds.,handle like a dream and are low miles. They each cost 4k .Be safe
Sound like awesome machines! Safe riding!
I don't believe anyone advertises this as a race bike it's a trailbike for beginners old people with injuries and wom..... oh never mind just read your name that's why it's heavy
@@JeremySawdon just read my name that's why it's heavy ? I don't get it ! It's top heavy because it weighs 284 pds. It causes injuries because it's unstable in the turns and when it falls over on trails it falls heavy causing injuries. They make way lighter trail bikes then this. I have nothing against Kawasaki but I spent over 8k with the dyno jet and from experience knew I made a mistake 1st time out. People that don't know maybe because they havnt road their whole life might think it's great. But I would go Honda or yamaha wr for trail. And that comes from a suzuki guy that's winning vet races now. My name is Kelly Clark 556
I am beginner for dirt bike, I watching for learning , How long have you been ever for rode dirt bike?
Thanks for watching! I have been riding dirt bikes for the last 3 years, so I'm pretty new to it as well.
@@darkcanyon8648 Thank you , I look you good aventurine riding skill ! Get fun and luck . Thanks✌️
Where was this at?
Southern Utah. Where do you ride?
Don't have a ride right now, but riden all over AZ, Glamis and recently done some trails up in Oregon.
Better go get a new bike. I'd love to hit the pacific northwest! I have watched a few different TH-cam channels that ride up there and it looks amazing.
Where is this it looks amazing and fun
This is Southern Utah, by Jacob's Chair. Thanks for watching!
Thanks man
` amazing what that thing can do (go over)! ... on stock D605's? Are you mostly in 2nd gear (except when you can really get moving)? If you're going to truck it to trail, why not just truck a 'real' trail bike?
Hey, just replied to another comment from you. This is actually Kawasaki's trail bike, not the dual sport. I love this bike though! It's amazing and can handle anything.
Just bought one today. This is exactly the type of riding I plan on doing. Great video
Thanks for watching! I have loved my bike. I enjoy both the high mountain single track and cruising in the desert
Beautiful area. I ride mine in the snow sometimes in WI out of boredom. But, throwing it in the truck and heading to desert for Xmas and might stop in that area if it isnt too cold LOL.
Right on! Desert riding can be a blast! I always have to switch to desert riding during winter months when my typical high mountain single track gets snowed in.
a daring (and Good) rider! stock sprockets & D605's ?
Thanks! I'm actually pretty new to dirt bike riding. This isn't the dual sport model (KLX300). This bike the Kawasaki's trail bike (KLX300R).
Hey man, I hit neutral on my 07 300R shifting from 1st to 2nd every now and then, I've found that it helps to rev first out pretty high before hitting second 👍
Right on man! Thanks for the tip. I have gotten better, but it still happens from time to time. Thanks for watching!
Great ride, super fun to see the transition in and out of the snow.
Thanks for watching!!
What an awesome ride! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Liesl! Been super fun watching your painting tutorials!
After seeing your videos I my have to get a dirt bike next. Beautiful views!
Come ride man!
Be careful... and it might change your life or end it. Buy some protection it will pay you back.
Such a pretty area! I think my husband wants a dirt bike now…😉😉 Thanks for sharing the ride!
Thanks for watching! Haha sorry to provoke the husband
That looks like fun. I love my KLX also.
It was a riot! This is my first bike and I love it! It's been a great bike to learn on.
Mine was a klx230s. This is about bike number 7. The klx300 with a fuel controller and pipe is pretty quick and a amazing deal.
Yea, I loved how affordable it was. Made it a lot easier to jump in to dirt biking. Where do you do most of your riding?
I road at Rampart Range today for the first time. It's worth a trip to Colorado for! I Ride a bunch near Estes Park and the Switzerland Trail and its offshoots near Boulder. If you make it this way, I will be glad to guide, you on an adventure.@@darkcanyon8648
Man that sounds amazing! I have always wanted to get out to Estes Park and check out the elk.
Man that thing tractors is pretty good
I do love this bike! Thanks for watching! What do you ride?
I have a kdx200 1996 and I had a 2000 xr650l I had to sell that one to pay some bills I really miss it and I'm working on restoring my kdx200
I really want the klx300r for trail riding
Yea the KLX300r is perfect for trail riding! It does everything I need it to do and costs half as much as a KTM or Husqvarna
300r here as well. Keep chugging and work that clutch.
I have a lot to learn about riding dirt bikes, but it sure is a blast and the 300R is a perfect bike for it! Thanks for watching!
Looks like a nice area to ride! I have had my 300R for a few weeks now and love it. Needed to do some mods to suite me better, but nothing crazy.
What mods did you do? I love my bike. I have done some small mods (handle bars, headlights) but nothing big.
@@darkcanyon8648 For non performance stuff, it's higher handlebars (I'm 6'5), hand guards, skid plate, and radiator guards. For performance stuff, it's new stiffer springs for my weight and riding style (200+ lb without gear), slip on exhaust, air box lid removed, and EJK fuel controller. The fuel controller is super important, not only will you get more life out of the engine. They come super lean from the factory to meet emissions requirements.
That all makes sense. I havent really made any performance changes yet. I'm also very average at 6 foot even and 173lbs.
Gear down man
Thanks for the tip. New rider, so any tips help.
I'm picking up this bike in a few days at the dealer. I plan on putting a big rear sprocket on.
I do love my KLX. It's been an awesome bike so far. So far the only things I have added were some head lights and a new handle bar.
Nice trail, the 4 wheelers haven't destroyed it. Where is this?
Southern Utah. It's an awesome trail. Where do you ride?
@@darkcanyon8648 Ontario Canada.
I want to get up and ride some trails in Canada. I have watched a few TH-cam videos of trails in BC and they look awesome!
Nice riding looks almost like Utah but idk honestly. I have the 2022 klx 300 dual sport model and I mostly ride the back roads in vermont. There are trails all over but I don’t know them enough to ride them. If I got lost I’d be stuck out there. Klx only has like 2 gallon gas tank maybe a touch more then 2 gallons.
Have you been out to Utah? That's where this ride was. I would love to hit the east coast sometime and trail ride out there!
@@darkcanyon8648 no. It was a guess from watch a lot of videos of people riding out there lol. But I’d love to ride out that way for sure!
It's a beautiful state. Fun place to ride for sure!
What handlebar / handguard combo are you using?
I run Renthal Ricky Charmichael bend handle bars. They are the fat bars 1 1/8". Then I have Cycra Pro Bend handle bar guards. I put both of those on myself after buying the bike.
@@darkcanyon8648 What bar clamps? Are those the pro taper 7/8 to 1 1/8?
I'll have to double check when I'm around my bike, but pretty sure I did pro taper bar clamps
Where is this trail system
South Eastern Utah. Where do you ride?
Nice trail, that bike is doing great on it.
Awesome trail for sure! I love the KLX. Where do you ride and what bike do you have?
What state is this?
Thanks for watching! Utah. Where do you ride?
I have the dual sport version and absolutely love it. It's the chugging champ for sure.
It's an awesome bike isn't it? Where do you ride mostly?
Complete waste of my time watching this blurred by water I guess on your go pro
Totally agree quality wasn't quite there. I have found that if I change the settings on my computer/phone to show the video at higher quality this video ends up looking a lot better, you might try that. It's my first video and I even asked in the comment section for tips on getting higher quality. Any tips? I have made some changes and feel like my videos are coming out more crisp. Thanks for watching though!
IF ITS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME DON’T WATCH THE VIDEO AND DON’T COMMENT. No one needs your negativity.
I have to apologize to you,, I thought it was the quality of your video when in fact it was my week signal I had at the time I was watching. I learned a valuable lesson n hope I can remove what's left of my foot from my mouth. Sorry guys.
Appreciate the apology. The foot in mouth happens to all of us.
Thanks Logan for back up. I will readily admit I want to up my quality on videos but always a work in progress.
