Grand Teton Backpacking - Death Canyon to Jenny Lake

This was a 29 mile backpacking trek through Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. We started at Death Canyon Trailhead, joined the Teton Crest Trail and finished at Jenny Lake 3 days later. We had rain all day on day 2 and a brief encounter with a black bear on day 3.

A May 6, 2017 backpacking trip down Buckskin Gulch in southern Utah. Buckskin is thought to be the longest slot canyon in the world, at about 13 miles in length. We started at Wire Pass trailhead and finished at Whitehouse, covering approximately 21 miles in 2 days. TurboTy the adventure dog led the way.

Thanks so much for sharing. I need to drive over to Grand Canyon from my home in Las Vegas, and hike down the 5000 feet early in the morning, to spend the rest of the day to climb back up again. I don t know if I am already too old to do it. Alternatively, or in addition, I have to do this rafting trip. I wonder if I can do that in my own canoe? Great video , thanks so much.
@@hartfischer5509 I’m not sure if they allow canoes. You’d have to check with the park service when applying for a permit.

@@rosiealaniz3205 Grand Canyon has their own 1-10 rating systems. So a 10 in Grand Canyon loosely translate to a 5 anywhere else. Have fun in September!
GCW-is that Grand Canyon Whitewater? I did the same trip last year in May with Grand Canyon Whitewater. The trip leaves you changed. I had such a wonderful time. My guides were Matt and Amanda. I want to go back so bad. I am going back to the canyon in September for a visit to the rim when I go to Las Vegas for my nephew's wedding.
Yes, it was an 8 day trip with Grand Canyon Whitewater. Our guides Rachel, Coleman and Forrest we're fantastic.

We thought about that... we are wondering if we need wet suits. We considered going in the summer but the monsoon rain season persuaded us to try spring.
You should be fine I would think, just be as prepared as possible....long sleeves, gloves, beanies, etc. If you can find some neoprene socks (REI) they are a big help in staying warm.
