2013 Expedition Heater Hose Replacement
มุมมอง 1.8K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
A project that most Ford V8 Expedition owners will face at some point.
Supra NCM Chase

A Supra passed me at the end of a yellow flag incident. He was Supra fast on the straights but I was able to put some pressure on him and he made enough mistakes that I was able to get back by a couple of laps later.
2004 Ford Expedition Adjustable Pedal Repair
มุมมอง 52K8 ปีที่แล้ว
This step by step video will show you how to repair Ford adjustable pedals. This is on a 2004 Ford Expedition but the concept is the same on most Ford adjustable pedals.
Man you were lucky with that clip. Do you remember if there were o-rings on the firewall connectors? When mine came off I didn't see amy but I' m worried they may have flown off without my knowing it.
AWSOME to know this thanks
good job!
Great video but looping a piece of nylon string around the pump between the pump and the resevoir and giving the string a quick jerk will pop the pump off. The AC line makes it tight but there is still plenty of room. Good video however and great camera work.
Excellent video! My 2004 Expedition washer pump went out several years ago and I'm just now deciding to replace it myself with the help of your video. Thanks!
This is a very informative and detailed video on how to accomplish this job. Nicely done
Just had to do this to replace one of the hoses. You can indeed get to the pump without taking out the whole tank. If you do need to take out the tank for another reason, no need to remove the battery, you can go in horizontally from the area where the AC lines are with a long extension.
Perfectly made video. I'm glad you decided to share your experience on this subject.fir the benefit of all of us.
This is how not to replace the pump….
I enjoyed it very much. Keep it up. Easy video ranking - P r o m o S M !!
Beautiful! Good job.
I suppose this means you succeeded in catching the drone. I was worried about that part.
I appreciate the major effort to video this in addition to the R&R; I know it wasn't an easy task. It is a very good video and helped me to decide if I want to make the fix. Thanks much.
I have a 2001 Lincoln Town Car Cartier L with just 85K on it. It is truly the best car that I have ever owned. Even the torque converter has a drain plug on it allowing you to drain it too when changing your transmission fluid/filter. When it comes to the adjustable brake pedal though Ford dropped the ball when they used a pedal with a plastic gear instead of an aluminum or brass one. They may have saved a few dollars using the cheaper gear but in the end they produced something that was just destined to fail. The problem being that most people keep their left foot on the pedal when adjusting it out thereby putting pressure on the plastic gear that it just won't hold up to for long thereby cracking it.
All of that wasn't necessary 🙄🙄🙄
Absolutely, ALL of THAT WASN'T NECESSARY. You can get the pump off, then unplug the electrical and tube connection, remove the "filter plug", clean your tank, install the new filter plug, connect the new pump, and plug it into the tank. Fill the tank with new washer fluid/water and check it out. No need to remove the tank and battery!!!

Some people do like to be thorough if they have the time ti do it. The video was informational and a clean install. Doing it the quick way and making a mess isn't everyone's preference.
Thanks. Helped a bunch.
It looks like that part (4L1Z-2455-BA) has been discontinued and perhaps Ford has now replaced it with part number 2L1Z-2455-BB instead. Looks identical to me, perhaps they've fixed the problem?
Thank you so much for this new part number. I looked for the part number in the video and found it was discontinued, and wasn't sure what to do until I read your comment.
Could this be the reason why I intermittently have loss of power until I press on the pedal a bit further on my 04 f150? About 1/4 throttle maybe.
Thanks Mr. Verhoef!
Nice finish!
I have the same problem but in a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2006.
Nice vid. Very useful. Thanks
Good god that’s an expensive fix for a 17 year old truck that’s prone to many failures. I’ll stick to the videos that show you how to spin it freely for free! Great video though, kudos for that. I have to wonder though if that’s not just an off the shelf gear you can order in for much cheaper. Doubt ford manufactured a special gear just for the pedals. I just can’t justify dropping a couple hundred to fix this problem in MY own case. Already bought the truck used for 2k and put new tires and brakes on it as well as replaced a window regulator, fixed some electrical issues including a $400.00 fuse box due to the dreaded fuel pump relay failure on these things, etc
There's a replacement gear available made from brass. There's a guy that CNC manufactures them. The pedals in my Mercury Marauder did this and I replaced the gear for $95 and labor to remove/reinstall the pedals. Now my Town Car did the same thing. Curless Auto Repair in Grand Rapids, Mi. Talk to a guy named Chris and he has replacement gears that will never break.
Where can I find the gear
Your idea worked for me , but it was a little more work than u showed
David, I have a 2015 Ford Expedition with adjustable pedals but the "low" point is very high. Can that be adjusted? I'm 6'3" with long legs and it wears me out in stop and go traffic, plus I often barely catch the brake with only my toes, so this is a safety concern. My Ford dealer tells me they can not fix it, but I'm not sure I believe that. Other Expeditions are not this way.
Awesome video for an awesome trip!
Miata beats Porche... It takes some crazy good driving to make that happen!
Looks like some good racing on a fun track!
you can just get the gear alone is AL2Z-2455-A
Does that part apply to the Ford F150?
Looks nothing like the gear in the pedal adjustment
It says the gear is for a 99-02 Expedition, so it probably won't work on the newer models.
not anymore, thats discontinued!
This is called planned obsolescence and all manf. do it GRRR! How else would they make money on parts.
did yours make like an air leaking noise from this? out brake pedal area is hissing and I was thinking it might me something to do with it
Hissing brake pedal is a bad brake booster.
Thank you so much for this video. I watched it about 5 times before starting the project and again during the change out. You made it seem much easier than it was for me to do it.
Thanks for the video! Very helpful when I get the replacement pedal assembly for my '03 Expy. It's a shame there is no replacement for that cheap plastic gear. Cheers!
