well, I could never figure out how Americans bought into the Plant-Page schtick - including especially some of the dumbest lyrics ever penned combined with an annoying vocal quality and sloppy guitar playing. Nothing like a twirp from the backwaters of Northern England trying to sound tough and sexy by wearing skin-tight jeans and screeching into a microphone. And - huh? - wha? a song with lyrics inspired by a canine that was loose in the studio during a recording session? A black dog, that is. I always lamented the fact that John Bonham and John Paul Jones were stuck with those two marginally talented clowns.
