This is a great intro video! Love it. I appreciate SO MUCH that you are so clear that e collar work should be introduced with existing behaviors. 👏 👏👏👏

I bought a Dogtra IQ maybe 15 years ago and it is still working fine and batteries were never changed out .... recharged 3 time a week at least...

what exact collar is that? The package shows black but the video shows orange

The box is for a 280c but the collar on the malinois is a 1900s. Similar collar same high performance pager (vibrate) function, same levels of stim, the 1900 has a longer range. Also the collar part looks to be a replacement with bungee, quick on and off, flexible, in my experience the bungee collar is good for long wear, just more comfortable.

@@emilieswett1329 i've never seen an e collar with a bungee cord. Do you think he made it?

    • @leadyourk9309

It is a 1900s with a custom strap that we make. The box is for a 280c which is a collar we use often. The difference between the two is the capabilities of the stim output and the range as well.

Then I don't see the point of this sort training ceasar says it's to snap brain out of negative action such as aggression a way to quickly snap the brain out of it... if the dogs already doing good, and been trained to behave well than how is an e collar even necessary the dogs listening to you and trained like you said it should be before getting one of these🤔 maybe I misunderstood

I do get how this could help for off-lease training. A good e coler isn't cheap, if I bought one I'd want to be able to use it. They are cheaper ways to off leash train. There must be more positive ways this can be used🤔why not keep it on the dog throughout every day and just quick corrections throughout the day for the most important behavioral issues you're trying to get results from stubborn dog who doesn't like to listen. I have an unruly husky puppy she's been unruly since 6 weeks old. I tried teaching her tons of tricks (she's way to hyper, won't focus won't make eye contact to seek approval) she thinks she runs the show and it's in all of her actions, I've spent every minute I can with her since we got her she's now 5 months old, showing small signs of improvement in little things she nailed at the beginning but she is stubborn to the fullest degree and has gone backwards I'm doing absolutely nothing differently🤔even our 9-year-old autistic son she turns his back on her since day one cuz he doesn't like to engage with her. And it makes complete sense because even when we ask him to pet her she's always all over the place trying to lick and bite at his hands and stuff. she doesn't even stay calm for a minute long enough for him to get his hand out to pet her I've worked on that for months too 😔but he can't even walk in the door and take off his shoes without her all over him and she doesn't accept him turning his back, noe will not listen to me when she gets like this! If I can't control her at 5 months old what's going to happen when she's an adult...I get she loves kids especially out ours but it's NOT ok and I'm out of options. Maybe always amusing her and spoiling her and trying to give her extra attention at all times has only made the problems worse. I thought she would just need time and consistency but nothing seems to be working

@@naomitaylor929 the e-collar is to enhance training, not do the training. Its an extension of the leash. It can be a tool for correction as you mentioned, but that should not be the primary focus or you develop a very collar wise dog in a negative way. From what I am reading, you would benefit from working with a professional trainer that is experienced in these areas. NOT ALL TRAINERS ARE CREATED EQUAL
