The National Estuarine Research Reserve Association (NERRA) is a national nonprofit organization established in 1987 to advance the work of NOAA's National Estuarine Research Reserve System. Reserves and their regional friends groups rely on NERRA to help enhance successful programs, strengthen the network, and enable reserves to better address growing challenges to our nation’s estuaries, coasts, and communities. NERRA communicates the funding needs and priorities of the reserves to Congress and federal agencies and educates the general public about the importance of estuaries and coasts.

Is there any evidence of mangrove in the region prior to the 500 years we were in the Little Ice Age, 1350-1850. Maybe they just died back and now since exiting the LIA they are simply returning. They were also likely around around 900 years ago when we were in the last periodic warming period which by the way occurs roughly every 1,000 years so we should be heading into one about now.

Freshwater flow is the point of her research. Bull sharks are notorious for being able to go from salt to fresh and back again.

Nice try, but she said "in the estuary" at 0:19. She's not going to repeat the same qualifier every time. It's a research reserve. No hunting and fishing would be allowed by humans and humans aren't part of the natural ecology. She is specifically studying human impacts on the ecology with bull sharks being the focal point.
Introduce yourself to one and see what happens.
