Not everyone is you or your brother, though. In fact, the vast majority are not. The vast majority have no interest in assimilation and integration, many are criminals, and the vast majority are a net burden on the social system. It's not just about welcoming people either, it's about just the sheer number of people. It doesn't encourage integration when there are so many at one time that they can just form isolated communities. To take an extreme example, imagine absolutely every single person in India wanted to seek asylum in the UK. The UK simply does not have the infrastructure to take care of over a billion people. Not even close. So, it sounds nice to say "welcome them all", but that's not a rational way to manage the situation.

They prefer a court run by Sharia law, the opposite of how free societies operate.
