I met Evan years ago in Amarillo. 87 and 88 he was the top wrestler. He was a very nice guy. Cheerful aditude.

Evan is one of my favorite fighters of all time. I still remember where I was when the news of his death broke. This documentary makes me like him even more. A true Warrior not just in the ring. RIP Champ

My thought is seeing Evan was so independent , he wouldn’t ask for help with alcoholism , maybe if he got so far out in the desert where Evan had no way to purchase alcohol , he would come back healed ,sad ending , but an amazing life adventure

He wasn't a searcher or seeker. He was a runner. He was running from himself, but everywhere he went, there he was. Typical alcoholic behavior, unfortunately. My heart hurts for him.

Evan’s story reminds me of Chris McCandless’ (Into the Wild) even though their stories have their own variations. Both asked deep philosophical questions, had been through some trauma and pain, and needed to take on challenges in the wilderness. A lot of people look at Chris McCandless’ story and take cheapshots at him without realizing that he too deliberately went into the wilderness without a map and concrete plan. This deliberately increased the stakes of the challenge. Remarkable human beings.

I love boxing not into ufc or wrestling and have never heard of this guy but what a fantastic doco and really heart felt genuine guy! Its one of the best doco's ive seen in a while! Just a genuine guy with human floors like all of us! Thanks and love to his loved ones! God bless you all! I went through horrible drinking and heroin addiction but jesus tought me the truth! That is to help and treat others with respect and that takes your eye off the self pity we all feel! Life is not about self its about helping and treating others with love! The truth will set you free! Thats a fact! 🙏🩵🕊

Enjoyed watching Evan Tanner fight. Sad to see what he was going through and how it effected his friends and loved ones.

It's hard to explain but when you are a kid and you don't receive the love and affection from a mom a dad then you will have a hard way of showing love and affection and your feelings on the person that you love because how can you do something yourself if you never experienced it yourself.
