I grew up in Pontiac my father worked at INTERLAKE factory when I was a baby I went to central elementary then later we moved to Vermillion street 2 blocks from prison Lincoln Elementary School we moved here to Texas when I was 14 they were starting to fill the movie GRANDVIEW USA with JAIME LYNN CURTIS and that teen heart throb his name escapes me ATM met the actress that played Ellie may on the Beverly hillbillies at the New log cabin restaurant when I was 9 y.o. spent summers in the public pool at CHATAQUA PARK....soooooo many memories thank you this video made me feel like I got to visit my childhood town!✌️

I'm from Streator IL and use to go to the Majestic and actually live 2 blocks from it. It's such a shame that it sits empty. The Majestic was also the last movie theater I went to see a movie on the big screen.

The castle sort of building is where the inmates entered, where they had to strip down quat and cough, then they showered and got clothed then shoved in a intake cell, I know cause I was there in 91, I also was cleaning lady, that cleaned that adm building and buffed their floors. I think u guys are rude, it's no laughing matter.

I was actually incarcerated there myself did 6 months waiting to be cleared to go to Lincoln correctional you guys are awesome for going there but nothing like being inside the feeling is so heavy and this place is very haunted I would love to come see it now after 12 years of being out

It wasn't Boy Scouts who broke off the top of the Wine Table. A high school group was going through on a tour in about 1970, and one of the boys decided to do pull-ups on the formation. Much to his shock, it caused a chunk of the formation to break off. The formation was cemented back together and a metal brace was added. Today it looks the same as it did originally, except for the metal brace.

This isn't the foundry, it's the old Nabisco paper mill. Those arches under that dock are where the water came in from the race & they used it to make cardboard for boxes that were used for Nabisco foods products. The fore was in the warehouses that were where the middle east conflicts wall & Illinois valley cellular are now. My grandpa worked there from 1927 until 1977. I used to fish in that race. Been there many times & now I work right next door at the mattress factory. The foundry was over on Commercial St. directly to the east of Subway & to the west of local 393 laboreers hall. It has burned down & one of my friends own that property now. Not meaning any disrespect, but you should do more research on you content, all you gotta do is ask around, or go to city hall. All this information is easy to find. My family has literally lived in the shadow of this building for 5 generations. Cool video though. Outside of being more rusty & run down, it's exactly as I remember it.
