What's more, for us Europeans we don't know the tipping system, where a fixed amount is added to the bill. This does not apply if you buy one of these packages. In addition, the drink prices are very high in our eyes. On European ships they are a lot lower. A beer is around 5 dollars and a wine starts at 6 dollars, and table wine and beer are included with the main meals. You notice this on the bill for the additional costs. We will be travelling with an American shipping company for the first time this year. We want to do the east coast and Canada. Princess is also on the shortlist.

My partner and I travelled on Princess late 2024 and unfortunately the experience doesn't stack up against other cruise lines. The boat, Diamond Princess, was old and very very tired. Lots of things were broken, the decor was really tired, and even though we had the premier package, the best spot on the boat was blocked behind a paywall. $70 a day to use a spa and a shelter area with no bar??? The premier package worked well because we ended up abandoning trying to find a seat at the packed out cruise entertainment areas where old people had pushed the cushions off the chairs and were literally sleeping mid morning near the bar along the main thoroughfare. I was incredibly disappointed with this cruise. There were a lot of angry old people and it did not feel like a happy holiday. Jump onto Royal Caribbean and within half hour you feel like you're on holidays. Happy music playing everywhere. Happy staff and happy clients.

Packages are a way to spend a lot of money upfront, more than I spend during the cruise. The package must be paid for the entire cruise. I don’t spend a lot everyday, so paying as I go works well for me. 🎉

Went to Italy end of June 2024 and visited Pompeii and Herculaneum ... and did a guided tour at both sites! It was the best trip of my entire life! There are no words to express the wonderful experience that I had visiting those sites! Also went to Rome and toured the Palatine Hill and the Colosseum! Amazing! Just an out of this world experience!
