PROACTIVE A/C Capacitor Swap? 10 minutes now to prevent failure at a BAD TIME?
On this video I talk through a quick A/C capacitor change out for our downstairs unit... Our upstairs unit went out on a hot summer day at a bad time a few weeks ago and we were blessed enough to find the right capacitor available at the local hardware store, but many times these capacitors are only stocked with professional distributors or take time to get from Amazon. So I thought, why not change out the other unit while I've got the tools out?

Flowmaster FLOWFX Direct-fit exhaust install tips + getting rid of annoying MDS/Eco Drone - Ram 1500
มุมมอง 3Kปีที่แล้ว
Although NOT an installation video, I wanted to share a few tips and learnings from a recent install of the Flowmaster FLOWFX Direct-fit muffler for the 5th Gen Ram 1500 (2019-2023) 5.7l Hemi... 1. It's a good idea to prime and paint this muffler... 2. If your exhaust tips have shifted after install, adjusting them is pretty easy 3. If you have an annoying drone when cruising in the city and MD...

Ford Expedition Horn Replacement - 2018 - 2020 Platinum (and possibly others trims?)
มุมมอง 8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Horn replacement shortcut video for 2018 Ford Expedition Platinum. The horn is comprised of two horns outputting different tones, a high and low tone. The low tone went out, so this video is on how I replaced the old horn assembly with a new OEM horn assembly without removing the grill, bumper, or active shutters. I'm not sure if it will work for other trim levels, so comment below if it helps ...

BOOMY BASS? Disconnect the Sub... Harman Kardon 19 Speaker System - 2019-2022 RAM 1500/2500/3500
มุมมอง 18K2 ปีที่แล้ว
If you're system has too much bass coming from the rear seat subwoofer on the HK system, try disconnecting the subwoofer. It worked great for me. Hopefully RAM or HK will release an update to this system for users who have too much bass coming through. It seems to be affecting some owners but not others. This is where I got the idea: 5thgenrams.com/community/threads/harman-kardon-boomy-bass.21260/
Seatbelt STUCK! Kids gunk on the belt... Ford Expedition 2018-2021
มุมมอง 3.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video we take a look at a stuck 2nd row seatbelt retractor in a 2018-2021 Ford Expedition...
Such a terrific video! Thank you for sharing this! Awesome success. Merry Christnas to you and your family.
Glad it helped! Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!
Great idea! Question, Did you use 3/4 or 1/2 plywood sheets?
I think most of them are 5/8", a few 1/2" and 3/4" were in the mix I bought from the guy on Facebook marketplace...
In my 2023 Ram HK system, I just packed the sub box w polyfil. Not perfect but much improved. Didn't even have to remove box...just removed subwoofer screws n subwoofer to fill.
Where did you buy the horns? I'm having issues finding them.
I bought this horn off a discount Ford OEM parts website, can't remember which one though... I would enter your vin into a few of the discount Ford parts sites and see who has the best price. Sometimes I get the part number off those websites and then find the part on eBay way cheaper too...
This is an interesting 'solution' for the boomy base. I have a 2019 RAM Longhorn and have same complaint with the HK system. The sub is awful for some music, but pretty good on other tunes. I guess it just depends on the frequencies to be handled by the HK sub/system. My initial thought is sound deadening in the sub area.... and if no joy, I will somehow add separate sub and dedicated amp. If anyone has already done this, please let me know where to find the 'how to'. Thanks!
thank you for this
Take sub out and pack the box with damping foam or insulation then put speaker back in
That is Awesome! Thank u for making this video!
I wish my 20 limited hqd the alpine system in it. It has the HK system upgrade in it wnd it sounds like wss compared to my 15 laramie ecodiesel with the alpine system
I had the flow fx then switched to the outlaw because the flow fx cracked. Anyone watching this go with the outlaw.. it sounds way better but not too loud..trust me on this
I love bass
I have a 2019 Ram with HK and like you experience very boomy bass around certain frequencies. It's just not smooth. I may try this.
Great job!!
Thank you for this, I’m pretty handy but this video was really helpful to give proof it can be done and cut down on some disassembly time. Appreciate you providing this helpful resource. I also found it to be easier to remove the 2 13mm bolts from the top of the Radiator and gently push it back to clear the horns.
Im confused... your not happy with the level of bass for ypu unplugged the sub?
Yea, the sub level was obnoxiously higher than the rest of the sound system. It overpowered every song. So I had to decrease the whole system's bass level to enjoy any music, which then made every other speaker sound very "tinny" and high pitched. When I disconnected the sub, I could increase the full systems bass level and get a much more robust sound from the whole system. It sounds great to me for my truck specifically. Everyone seems to have different experiences with this HK system, so yours may be great with the sub...
Have you had any tearing in the vinyl?
The vinyl lasted two dance parties... Tried to use the same screw holes and it worked fine. Was a little looser the second party but worked great. It never tore though, help up nicely for about 5-6 hours of dancing total. The whole vinyl sheet was $100 at Lowes
I'm so confused... he wanted more bass so he disconnected the sub?? How does that give more bass?
6x9's in all 4 doors, which are very nice for bass. Sub is super boomy, so you need to turn down the bass a lot, which kills all the mid bass. Unplugging the sub allows you to turn the bass back up on the EQ, a d bet better mids and mid bass. If there was a factory sub volume control in these systems, it would sound so much better.
@@Aviator7901yes, well said.
Agreed! A factory sub level adjustment would have been great.
the problem is not the amount of bass on those, is how sloppy their EQ sounds.. i have the same issue on my MK8 GTI
Was thinking of making a jump rope platform, but have just a frame with a sheet of plywood covering it , to leave it very flexible. Thanks for the ideas 😊
So keep the truck in 8cylinders instead of 4? All mufflers swaps will drone.
Where did you purchase your vinyl roll-top, and how many square feet did you end up making?
144 square feet I think? $100 from Lowes... 12' x 12'
Great video man thanks for taking the time to make it to help others 👌🏻
I followed this method and it mostly worked on my 2019. The new horn was larger and had to be disassembled (2 nuts) to fit into the space, then retightened in place. Not as bad as I thought. Thank you!
Hey got a question for you. That green wire, is that for the audio itself, or something different. Like is that where I could use my high/low converter for my aftermarket subwoofer?
That's alot of money for people to come for a couple of hrs to eat drink dance and leave your house a mess. Should of went to home depot and got a roll of 36 in. x 200 ft. Self-Adhesive Protection Film. It's clear. I got it and worked great.
i also learned about this nifty deal to turn off the Active Noise Cancelling which ended up killing my speakers on the drivers side. PAC ANC-CH01 ANC-CH01 - its a bypass harness that turns off the system and it has reduced drone! I too run a FlowMaster, not too aggressive and it sounds great. Then again i leave mine in Tow Haul mode all the time. Got tired of doing the gear limiter. Was told there's a harness you can unplug but it will throw a code.
Great vid!!
19 speaker I count 11 in my truck ??
th-cam.com/video/-JCMpk1Iv2Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JTjSpYk7b45at17x
Common misconception. There aren't actually 19 separate component speakers. Four of them are coaxial speakers. If my memory serves me correctly, the door speakers are 3 way coaxial speakers, so hence the 19 (count each door speaker as 3)
@@insertname8888Thanks, I've always wondered about that count.
This is good. I recommend folks purchase capacitors built in the USA. One such brand is MARS.. Much better quality than foreign capacitors.
This is exactly what I do I proactively replace both the outside compressor starting capacitor and the capacitor on the indoor blower motor. I operate on the basis they are suspect at the 10 year mark.
This video is gold for us in the Sun belt. Heal and easy way to avoid expensive AC compressor or condenser failure!
Highly recommend hemifever tuning. Had it on mine. Moes performance sells his tuning.
Just bought a 20 last month with the HK. The sub is definitely subby but I'd rather have it than not. Ram could've given us a way to adjust the sub level tho. Not sure if they've added that to the newer trucks. If you're an audiophile like me you want the sub to complete your sound. The guys upgrading to JL must have an awesome sounding stereo for sure with a lot more flexibility hopefully.
Totally agree, would be great to have a dedicated sub level adjustment...
Did this today just to hear how it sounds..... Can not believe how bad it sounds without the sub, absolute garbage.. Also did not need to remove anything to unplug the speaker. Just fold down seat and reach behind the cover panel and boom disconnected...
So you unplugged the sub and it’s absolute garbage without sub plugged in?? Just the absolute different results than OP found..oh well!
@@smokeyyunick2675different strokes for different folks probably
That sub sucks, you’re correct… better off in plugging it. Maybe upgrade the door speakers but I agree sounds better
thanks for this... I have the same issue.
Thanks! You are awesome!
Glad it helped!
th-cam.com/video/kQHxvyaYALo/w-d-xo.html
I subbed, does that make me a dad?
How much in total did you spend
About $300
Thanks man. My son and I just did this exactly following your video. Was tricky getting the new horn back through the bottom but eventually got it. Saved me $500 local Ford dealership quoted for labor. Took us 1 hour start to finish
Glad it helped
Why not pull the pins off the writing harness at the amp?
Two bolts (13mm) out of the top of the radiator/fan assembly and it will move back far enough to get the horn in and out. I prefer this over the latch because it you don't have to worry about the latch adjustment
Can you send a pic of where?
Do it this way. Undo the plastic clips and plastic cover just like the video says. But then just remove the bolts at the top of the radiator, one on the driver's side and one on the passenger side, both bolts face into the engine compartment. Then undo the bolt holding the horn on, stick your hands down between the radiator and front support and pull the horn out to disconnect the power. Much easier than trying to fish it up from the bottom.
No one even mentioned the kid! It's freaking awesome that he's helping like he is... Most kids are so freaking glued to the TV or Phones now days.
Sooo creative! Well done! Was hoping to see the dad dance moves
I just bought a 22 ram limited red edition with a Harman Kardon sound system. I'm also disappointed in the bass. I'm installing a JL Audio upgraded system.
Hey bud I got a 21 ram with the same audio, are you doing the upgrade yourself or taking it to a shop? Would love to hear how to do it myself if that’s the route you’re taking
Just did mine same model year. Disconnect hood latch, 10mm disconnect horn and wiring. Slips right in and out the area of the hood latch.
A man can never have too much base.
"a lot of people complaining" = wife made this dude get rid of it lol.
EXACTLY my thought😅
What if i told u u could lower the bass from your head unit 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ok so you told us you ‘can’ but please tell us ‘how’! 🙏
Mines all the way down on the radio and still rattles bro... We're all very aware of being able to turn it down
