I am Suzanne, a professional watercolour artist who creates vibrant paintings and urban sketches. I inspire people to sketch and paint; mainly to enjoy the therapeutic process that leaves you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the challenges of day to day routines!
Painting is a way I relax and unwind. I love the fact that the flow of pigment on paper is something that cannot be controlled. Over the years , I have been able to relate this particular quality of watercolours to my own life. Just like watercolours, our life is not something that we can always control. Most of the time, we have to let go of little things and just go with the flow so that we can enjoy the world we live in. The realisation of life in comparison to watercolours makes my experience with the medium very relaxing and therapeutic.

Here's a quick study using watercolour and ink. I used a fountain pen with sepia ink, that gives a really cool wash when introduced with water. I then topped it up with some watercolour sepia pigment to add more tonal values. This is just another way to understand tonal values before I make this into a watercolour painting.

Really like it. The sketch is Nice. Would it work with à régular ink pen? I mean no mixing and spreading in the water ?
Hi, If you are using regular ink in a fountain pen, you may want to use it after painting in watercolour and letting it completely dry. This is because regular fountain pen inks are non waterproof. You can also use other types of pen. It is really a personal choice. But what is important is to have waterproof ink if you'd like to start with the sketch first. And fun fact,I just started to watch some watercolor vidéos on TH-cam last 2 weekend and there are really few vidéos I really liked but one of them was of cone flowers, and I just réalised now also that it is your cone flower video.
