My name is Kiran Chirayan and I have been travelling my country India for the last 40 years. Took early retirement from Bank so that I could pursue and share my passion and life. My passion includes traveling, painting, cycling, motorcycling, cooking, gardening, music, philately and numismatics.

Today my Guest from Poland wanted me to take him on a trek and I recommended him one of the historic forts near Mumbai which has lot of history. I was a bit reluctant as I stopped trekking after Covid and also due to knee pain. But when I reached the village called Sakawar and seeing the Fort from a distance I could not resist and decided to try and if not head back.
We started from Mumbai which is 60 km away from the starting point of the trek and it is a village called Sakawar in the Palghar district. Every trek near Mumbai is close to a village and one can get a villager as a guide who can help during the trek. So I hired two young boys so that one can be with my guest and other can bring me back if I am unble to do the trek.
After 8 years this was one of the best treks. Usually I used to trek in the monsoon when the surroundings are green and the weather is cool.

The statue of the Vietnamese king named Tran Hung Dao. He is known in Vietnamese history for commanding the army to defeat two invasions of the Yuan-Mongol army in 1285 and 1287. Vietnam is the only country that has defeated the Yuan-Mongol army three times. The Yuan- Mongol was a powerful army, successfully invading many large territories from Europe to Asia including China. But the Yuan-Mongol army failed and could not subdue the Vietnamese people. Vietnam also won wars with the US (1975), China (1989), France (1945), Japan (1945) and Khmer Rouge-Polpot (1979).

Thank you for watching my video. About the train ticket, we took a package tour through a agent named vietnamtour.in. They have a office in India and Hanoi. But if you see the paper ticket which they handed us at the Lao Cai railway station, it mentions the agent as Hello Asia Travel. I think you can book tickets through 12go too. I had booked ticket through this App from Bangkok to Surat Thani in Thailand.
