A good tip I have is to just turn public chat off while you're recording. It will go a long way towards making your recordings look cleaner, and it will be a load off your chest when editing as you don't have to double check the raw footage for any super offensive language that our TH-cam overlords may not like lol
Glad you ditched the AI voice man. Your voice is %10000 better than any AI can put out, and it makes content feel genuine. I hope you enjoy the series, and I appreciate the irony of BrokeScape starting up as an attempt to make money off your gaming passion lol

If you play with RuneLite, you can set it to only mark Dropables (should be your own drops). I use that for my Ironman, as I don't want to see other players' items It's in Ground Items -> Ownership Filter

You nailed it my guy. RuneScape was the closest many of us got to actually living a second life, and the world was (and still is) immersive enough for the leasons we learned there to carry over to real life. Thank you for this video

Well made video essay! During college I stopped playing and didn't even really know about the reboot. In late 2019 I heard about the app and decided to just open it up and see. Before I could even think about the fact I'd be starting over the holiday rs music hit me with the strongest wave of nostalgia I'll probably ever feel in my life. Sat down right there on the floor and have played regularly ever since. Really the game is one of a kind and somehow we have got developers that are treating it well. We are blessed to have this game in our lives!

I use to watch my cousin play this for HOURS, I agree it felt like a safe place. Although I never actually got to play it, I just never made the time for it, maybe I shale give some time to this game

The grind is real 💪
Something I'd like to recommend to you to try implementing sooner than later so not to disrupt future monetization is trying not to swear in the first 10 minutes of the video and especially not in the first 2 minutes as it can demonitize a video. That doesn't mean dont swear, just bleep them out with runescape sounds for example until after 10mins in. If you didn't know you can apply for monetization at 1k subs and 4,000 hours of watch time if I remember correctly and being able to have your videos before monetization meeting criteria will help once that is active.
Also, videos must be at least 8 minutes to be monetized :)

Just some comments to help you improve! The game is zoomed really far out a lot of the time and it's often really hard to see meaning often times we can't see what's going on. The idea for the series is awesome, it's a fun idea, but the pace is abysmally slow. I'd have expected either jumpcuts from saying the ideas to you starting the idea to finishing the idea, this still feels like I'm on the first 60 seconds of episode one and it's taken forever to get there. That HD plugin is strange and often times it's too dark to see with the HD plugin even when it's not zoomed out too far. I personally wouldn't record every second of gameplay, not only will it be a huge file to store and manage but it would be boring for us if you uploaded that all. We wouldn't know where the good parts are and the boring parts and we all know we're not watching every second of footage! Good luck with your series man, I'd love to see this series with these changes!
Also you don't have ground items plugin on so we can't read what items are, so when you say "this" or "that" when you're referencing stuff we have to guess what it is based on context

And I am addicted to it haha, seeing the numbers go up, even slightly, gives the same hit I get when leveling in game :D I was very close to not starting, you just need to give that one push!! If you have any questions about the whole process feel free to ask, I'm more than happy to help! Once I am more established I do plan on making some tutorial videos on getting set up for this kind of thing!
@ I have a program that I used to make videos in college, I just don’t know how to translate that knowledge into video editing for TH-cam. I might just give it a shot and try though. I don’t know how to ask questions about it though because I don’t know what to ask about
It's difficult to start without a plan. But a plan could be as simple as "let's play RuneScape". Do something you enjoy, my biggest bit of advice! Record some footage and you'll find ideas in editing may come up more than you think :)

Anything is possible but it's hard to imagine this concept taking off as a series. It's more of a one episode idea like Flipping Old School would do. At the end of the day if you're not buying on the exchange, there isn't much but long boring grinds in F2P to make gp. As an aside, the HD plugin in OS is so damn ugly! I can see why it's so rarely used in videos.

I used to have an issue with numbers like say 9, 11, 13 just to list a few random ones. What I found helped me not be bothered by them anymore was thinking okay, is this number divisible by other numbers? Like 9 is divisible by 3...15 is divisible by 3 and 5. Okay if it's not divisible is it a prime number? 11 is a prime number so it's cool. It's probably pointless saying this comment, but who knows maybe it'll help!

side note, increase the volume of the video. I had to turn everything I could up on my computer and disable my runescape volume just to hear the video at a good volume.
Huh, interesting. It all sounded almost too loud for me when editing and exporting. Will definitley check that out and maybe try on other devices to make sure. Thanks for letting me know!
@@BrokeScape If it's too loud, but not clipping and starts distorting the sound it's fine. As long as all of the things added in are balanced thats what matters. If the video is too loud the viewer can always turn the volume down on their device, at least that's how I look at it when I made some of my videos.
