I need the SLC and a Blitz added at some point… so bizarre not to include them
@@superamusinggg i still don't get the difference between a blitz and the mack launched that's in the game
I agree spray grounds would be awesome! I would also love to see a parade option with customizable floats, choreography with music, new characters etc... Most major theme parks have some sort of parade whether for holiday's or daily events
@eclipsestar4111 personally that's a pass for me. not a lit of parks have that, itd probably be a nightmare to integrate into the existing path system and cause a lot of issues to folks who arent experts at ut, cause a lot of work for devs because of all the animations and variations, while adding very little to gameplay
I know the new first person mode will probably be better, but you can walk around the park from a guest perspective in pc1 if you rename a guest "tegidcam"
Some kind of transport vehicle for your staff would also be useful, so that they can get from one attraction to another more quickly
Little bit of a stretch, but I hope we get some sort of concert dlc where we can create stages and events for the guests to come and watch. I really want to make my own amusement park music festival!
@@poppyperfect9167 well, that doesn't seem likely to me, but there is a fin game called festival tycoon that sort of lets you do that
Hey man great video! I agree with most of the points (both positive and negative). Cool to see you you used my forum pictures :D My most negative point is that there are indeed quite a few planco 1 rides missing. Some of them were quite popular so I can see them make a return pretty soon.
@@vampironl thank you so much! they were super useful, i thank you for making them and keeping them up to date! it's been so useful even before i was making a video about it!
Planet Coaster 1 already had a First Person Mode. It is hidden behind a "Cheat-Code": "Type “TEGIDCAM” in the search bar and press enter. Once you hit enter, you become a guest. You'll be transported to a first-person viewpoint near the entrance of your park. Using the movement buttons (Generally WASD on the Keyboard), you can move around and look in different directions using your mouse."
Carnival games are a big thing in Theme Parks? I have hardly saw any here in german Parks. Some Arcade Games but nothing more. But it is maybe the same with paying for every single ride. Here you pay to enter the park and thats it. No additional ride fees. Interesting how different concepts around the world are for the same Thing.
well, the pay-poer-ride thing is more common in carnivals and fairs than in big theme parks, even around the world you won't find many parks where you pay-per-ride (with beachside resort parks usually being the exception), the reason they're common in park management games is that they just make more sense from a gameplay perspective as a steady source of income that doesn't require your guests to constantly be leaving and entering the park. It's a gameplay-over-realism thing. Carnival rides are very common in america, in seaside resort parks and also where I live, but yeah I guess that's more of a cultural thing.
Thank you for the information. And i can understand the gameplay oder realism thing with pay per Ride, but it Always bothered me.
@@OlafOpossum i think they might be changing it with PC2's new daily cycle where the park presumably opens and closes every few hours
Just under a week to go! I really hope they do fix the water slide physics though as they are a little off putting atm! Saying that still looks like an awesome game though and of course I pre ordered!
10:20 Frontier should just make that an Upgrade DLC like other games have it after the game has released. It would be foolish for the customer experience to make the pre-order stuff inaccessible for eternity, if you didn't pre-order. Publishers/Devs should really take in account how this would impact customer experience.
The bobsled ride being wooden in PlanCo really bothered me. I never thought that it was logical to use wood on such a ride. It seems immersion breaking and ruins the experience.
uhm, actually... that's a real ride. it's called the flying turns, it's an old coaster that used to exist in many parks worldwide, nowadays there's only one in operation at knoebels.
@@Petpatrol2I've only seen one once and it was a metal slide. Thanks for the info though
So you mentioned how animals can climb anything in PlanZoo, why not implement that mechanic for PlanCo 2 to build playgrounds. Could be restricted to certain items or so but it doesn't seem like they would have to re-invent the wheel for playgrounds.
that's what i'm saying, but obviously it'll still have to be reworked quite a bit. not impossible though, i think.
Physics for real life physics based rides are neede, I so agree with that. I mean the actual coasters have physics based acceleration and deceleration so why do log rides not have that. Sliding through a water slide would be awfully painful, if you felt like on rails as seen in your trailer preview YIKES. It be lame, if they didnt fix that.
I used to watch Channel 5 Gaming daily and I loved what the community came up with. Outstanding creativity. Cool to see that Frontier is aknowledging this with the Scaling Tools.
I might even buy this game. I stopped playing PlanCo after 20 hours cause I couldn't cope with the pathing system. I am very relieved to see a completely new path building mechanic. Really bummed that they didnt postpone PlanZoo and added that there as well. It's the only reason I am not buying that game.
There's no way the first full DLC will be the preorder ride pack. I imagine that will be a 4 dollar download put up at the same time as the first full 10 dollar DLC
@@FilthyGringo maybe, i really think vintage ride pack will be the first though
"This game looks similar to the original!!" So did GOW: Ragnarok,
@@MightyMattTM never played it, and it's not my genre, i felt like rct2 was more directly relevant
Loved the video, all your points were great and you mentioned things I either didn't think about or didn't notice! Also loved that you mentioned hotels being removed, I flipped out when they said that. My first plan was to build a hotel/resort the second the game drops but now it's harder to do.
@@adaxxusairsoft thank you so much! i'm really happy to read comments like that! i hope i made you notice some good things as well!
@@Petpatrol2 Yeah the video was very well made, I clicked on your profile and was stunned that you only have 1k subs, quality reminded me of some of the larger planco youtubers with 20k+! Hope to see more of your content in the future!
@adaxxusairsoft thank you thank you! believe it or not most of those are dead subs, too, a big channel gave me a shoutout once, i hot a whole bunch of subs from kids who subbed cus the channel told them to, then they never watched anything, LOL. Most of my latest vids before planco didn't even break 100 views, i'm really glad this one is doing well, and thanks for the compliments!!!
@@Petpatrol2 No problem, giving credit where credits due!
Frontier has experience with Carnival Games in their game Thrillville. I loved it but there's an expectation that the player would be able to play those games as well adding more mechanics.
@Zaxomma nah i don't think theyd apply the same logic from thrillville to planco
9:20 You can! This was shown in a recent steam exclusive stream!
Im trully concered abt the waterslides physics and colors, they look so unrealistic
@mikon524 colors? what's wrong qith the colors?
@@Petpatrol2 they seem like theres no shadow, they seem so bright
@mikon524 i don't know if i agree with ya there, especially in planco 2, where the shadows are much more pronounced. plus, bright colors are generally speaking just part of the amusement park vibe!
Honestly this game is a bit underwhelming to me. The graphics are barely improved at all, and the water ride physics are pretty terrible. The only thing that I'm excited for is the new coaster types
The most annoying thing about the slides is, they have all the mechanics and data to make it more physics based, but simply didn't
i'm thinking it might've been for a reason like more physics calculations = more lag. idk. but i feel liek they still could've come up with something better than what they did.
@Petpatrol2 actually, with the g-force measuring algorythm you could calculate the offset to the side of the slide and define this as the path for the models sliding down.
That would make it like a rollercoaster (performance wise)
@j.ott_coasters i believe it already pretty much does that, like the bobsled coaster, the issue is its restricted in how far its allowed to swing so it doesn't feel right
@@Petpatrol2 but that'd just be like remove the damn restrictions and you're fine, I don't see the problem here
8:40 This actually is in Planet Coaster 1, it is kinda an Easter egg, if you name one of your guests a specific name (I don’t remember what that was but you can look it up) you will get a low view from the path and you can even zoom in (change FOV)
yeah but in planco2 it's an actual built in feature and you can control the camera, not just attach it to an existing guest.
@@Petpatrol2no, I didn’t mean attach to a guest.. I was talking about a “easter egg” when you rename a guest and your camera changes and you can actually control it
@@Petpatrol2Try to rename a quest “tegidcam”
@@Petpatrol2try to rename a quest “tegidcam”
@JanKapolka507 ah, didnt realize you could control it, my bad
I love planet coaster
Copperhead strike wasn't even an intamin blitz. it was a mack launched coaster which was already in planet coaster 1
@@Gijsinator1 yup, many other commenters mentioned this. don't know what to tell you, i can't really tell the two apart!
@Petpatrol2 there is just one way. Intamin blitzes use cylinders to connect the supports with the track, and mack uses triangles. Thats the only big difference
@@Gijsinator1 and yet people are frekaing out about only having one of those in the game...? that seems... a bit silly.
The munstars and back to the future dlc want available and im sad because i had th ghostbusters one and the back to future would’ve been sick
for path it was because we wanted central areas to ve a Plaza but was unable to do so.
Really good video, I really enjoyed it! I just want them to fix the waterslide physics and the stations!
1 PERSON VIEW IS NOTHING NEW. RENAME A GUEST TEGIDCAM AND YOU CAN WALK IN PLANET COASTER 1
Hotels, restaurants, carnival games, arcades are at the top of my list, but now also water structures and exit pools can be added to my list.. Hopefully we can also make custom stores in the future and choose what kind of merchandise or foods are included in each store..
Anyone else wanna see more portable fair style rides in the game?
The absence of separate unload and load stations really ruins themed rides
Some people might not agree with me, but I just don’t want tie in dlc. It just kinda devalues the world to me. And in a way dates the dlc too (case dependent, but I hope the idea stands).
Hopefully they add more scenarios with each dlc
^This. I am relaly hoping for this. I'm so much more likely to buy DLCs that come with scenarios.
First person wasnt confirmed just yesterday. Its been known for long time already :)
To be fair I wrote "As of the time of writing this". But still - I don't think it was known before the steam stream. That's the first time we've seen it in planco 2.
2:25 ish I mean.. the change in lighting is huge. And the foliage also looks so, so much better.
It is and it isn't. I will admit that while in the steam stream everything looked jaw droppingly gorgeous,a nd notably better than planco 1, but at the same time - that's the game on the highest settings. When the game isn't on the highest settings it still looks very similar to planet coaster 1.
Thank you very much for this video, I admit I'm very excited about the release of PC2. I already know that I'm going to spend some good hours in it! I do admit, however, that I'm a little surprised by some of the directions, for example the absence of restaurants or modular souvenir shops, which are themselves present in planet-zoo. While parodoxly I find their presence more relevant in planet coaster ^^’ But I'm sure Frontier will add them later. What bothers me most personally is the absence of the basic PC1 themes. Not out of nostalgia, or simple whim, but because they're the most recurrent themes in theme parks in general, and in terms of immersion, being able to create parks that look like the ones I've known is kind of my first love in the game (maybe it's a bit of a whim then ^^). But the pleasure of recreating parks by inspiration was part of the original experience for me (Western, Fantasy, SF, Pirate, were not chosen by chance as the basic theme, beyond being iconic, they are the most popular). And I must admit I find it disconcerting to think that Disney will obviously be so much easier to theme in the first opus! It's just a bit frustrating but maybe I'm a bit spoilt I don't know ^^’ In any case, I hope everyone finds what they're looking for in this future game, which I have no doubt will be very interesting to follow !
thanks for your comment! I think that wwhile a bit less convenient - every single one of the old themes should still be recreatable to some degree with the existing themes. aquatic and resort theme cna be put together to create scifi as we've seen in deep dive 3, wooden walls and railings are probably still in the game, so i'd iamgine western style buildings are still very much possible, as are desert colored rocks and maybe even cacti, and i feel like between mythology, viking and aquatic, a fantasy theme would probably be easy peasy. Pirates might be a bit of a stretch but with vikings being relatively similar - probably not by much.
I really have to agree with you on the #6 complaint. Along with the fact that this is 100% not a DLC, that's way underestimating the size of this game and what it's doing to expand on Planet Coaster's mechanics, I also think that people are too picky about the graphics. We have to remember that even though this game is 8 years newer than the first, it's still a complex simulation game (even moreso than Planet Coaster 1 with mechanics such as the weather, ride customization with animating parts, etc.), so having far superior graphics could mean a significant hit to the game's general performance. It's surprising to me that ultra realistic top-of-the-line graphics are still a priority to people after the fiasco that was, for example, Cities Skylines 2. That game tried for a massive graphical leap and, as a result, ended up being extremely laggy on even some of the best hardware. Great video by the way, it's nice to see someone considering the good and the bad instead of just leaning to one side!
Thank you so much! I fully agree, and appreciate the feedback!!!
I wish there was a way to instantly see when your coaster was pulling way too many G and not wait till the test had finished running. Or something where it doesn’t just finish or smooth the ride but suggests a “safe” version. I might have played it too casually as to know how to avoid it having way too many G, but it really killed the fun when however often I tried, I just couldn’t get certain coasters to work. Particularly when I wanted to incorporate specific loops or 90° drops, I’d end up with a sad, boring coaster because no matter the breaks no matter suddenly I had 10 lateral G while not being able to actually finish the next loop at the same time. So it would always be back to prefab or the same coasters that I knew are easy to build.
Anyone has any updates on the modding capability?
I don't thinkt here's official word yet but if planet coaster 1 is anything to go by it probably won't be possible at first, with half-measures like the thememaker's toolkit beign added in later.
@Petpatrol2 Okay thanks, since nowaydays the mods/rides that other people design in PC1 are so amazing. Would love for that to be similar in this game. But i read on reddit that they won't support workshop in order to promote cross platform gaming(!?!?).
@@jlz2106 not exactly, they won't support STEAM workshop, because htey'll be using their own workshop, frontier workshop, which will allow for the same things to be available over both PC and consoles. we'll sitll ahve workshop support, it jsut won't be steam, that's all.
@@Petpatrol2 oooh okay, well that could still work. Thanks!
I'm so hyped for small things like the actual first person camera. Always wanted to walk around my park and enjoy it from a guest perspective. i also hope fences are spine based option like paths instead of the arduous task of piece by piece. would also be cool to be able to clone objects along the edge of the path by maybe highlighting a path section and adding lights, trash cans, and benches, with inputs like number of clones and spacing between each clone.
I believe from what we've seen fences are still the same as they've always been, nothing new there. Would be nice though.
Their new building shorts showed that scenery will now block walking area. This is HUGE
as someone on the planet coaster reddit mentioned - there's a cut in the video when that happens. it's more likely that they added the scenery, then off camera used thepath erase tool around the scenery to remove the path there.
I think you hit every nail on the head with your wishes and concerns. Especially the water physics, and exit only pools! If you're going to do a waterpark, do it right like they did with coasters!
Thank you so much!
They need some content for future packs
I don't think there's any shortage of that.
Yes please continue to do Planet Coaster 2 content. I like the way you present the information over how many others on TH-cam do it.
Thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear it! What specifically did you like about how I presented it, so I know to stick to it in the future?
Single rail is confirmed for planet coaster 2? I thought I saw it
So far only the basilisk (the big, two-across single rail coaster) is confirmed.
Well presented and conceived. I did enjoy your presentation and it gave me some things to consider
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate the feedback :D
Killing it with these videos!! (and the views show :) ) Hoping to see more PC2 when it releases!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! It's pretty exciting, ngl, to go from a video that got 43 views to a vid that got 21K is... very exciting! I hope I can come up with enough content in the future that people enjoy and that they won't be disappointed when I inevitably get off topic with some of my other vids!
I would love a first person psvr2 mode where you can walk through your park and go in the rides.
