A wonderful 28km hike starting and finishing at Settle in the Yorkshire Dales, passing by Malham Cove and going round Malham Tarn. The hope was to do this in a day and a bit with a wild camp, but decided to complete it in one day. Nice video Phil. Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi there Pil. Cracking video as always mate. The Forest of Bowland is on derail area to walk in . I was up on Fair Snape Fell last Friday for a wild camp. All,the best mate, Dave 😀🥾🏕️
A lovely area - I’m trying to get to places that are off the beaten path - hope to be out again soon
Whoah... trek X10 mate😊
T'riffic 😊. 🇬🇧🫡🙏👋👍🏼
Nice hike Phil. Wishing you a wonderful week. Take care.
Thanks, you too!
Trust a Scouser to start talking about breaking and entering as soon as he sees some houses!😅 Cracking walk Phil, atb Mark.
Ahh we are just too old school Phil, a good walk and discrete camp. I do feel I need to be more discrete as I don’t want to join the throngs camping in the afternoon in full view. I’m just an old fart🙈😂 I see the latest info from Snowdonia national parks is really discouraging wild camping but it’s aimed at people camping in popular areas. Anyway ATB Phil 🍻
Yep it’s a pity when people are spoiling things, always somewhere to get away from people sometimes have to give up the view though to achieve it - much easier now though as the days draw in
Another great vid mate. Love Yorkshire. That tent looks huge, perfect for all your gear.
It’s last years winter tent - can’t justify yet another one - it’s just a heavy bugger
Hi Phil. I hear you mate, miles from anywhere and anyone in a tent…..not sure about the crappy weather though. Haha Great little camp that mate, all the best, Dave 😀🥾🏕️
Thanks 👍
Phil, enjoying your walk . I went the opposite way from Chipping Camp Den to Bath. Interested in seeing your final two days as I always felt the way you are doing it is far more scenic coming into Chipping than Bath.
Hiya unfortunately the last 2 days did not come out . Damaged memory card
Nice one Phil, I’m wondering if you’re finishing the CWT this year. Kind regards 🍻
Hi Dave, I'm not sure - all the logistics for a few miles - I may do one day. I'm planning a winter walk of The Great Glen Way in Feb and hope to cycle the Scottish 500 later on in the year
@@PhilAldridge49 yes not easy to get back from Cape Wrath. The other adventures are something to look forward to, GGW will make a good winter adventure, the earliest I’ve been to Scotland is the end of March when we set out in a blizzard from Dalwhinnie. That was a wet and cold trip which we aborted after 5 days. ATB
I know just fancy a winter trip - The GLW I think will allow this
A new tent again Phil? How many is this now? 40-50? 🤣🤣🤣.... Feel your pain on the not wanting to get out....... Glad you broke the funk and got out into your happy place
Need to start selling a few 😅
Hi Phil. A great camp. It’s difficult to find a dry pitch in the Forest of Bowland. Haha I had a camp on Hazelhurst Fell the other week and there was literally one place to pitch that was dry, right by the trig point. I did get a cracking sunset though. Where do you play golf mate, I’m a member at Fleetwood. All the best mate 😀🥾⛰🏕️🏌️♂️
Hiya yep was a rough old moor - but got a decent spot - I play at Staining Lodge
@@PhilAldridge49 Nice one. I used to be a member there. Always a cracking course in the summer. Not played it for years.
Yep its playing well this summer - im a member but until next summer @DAoutdoors
Nice video Phil. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a wonderful evening and a great week.

nice👌👌👌👌👌👌
Great quality Broo!
wow cool
I'm forever grateful to have found your channel! 🙏
Nice video Phil , what a great spot for a camp when you cba heading in to the lakes . I always camp up pendle hill for a cheeky one as its right on my doorstep being in Preston but like everybody else Ive always been intrigued by this place on the drive up to the lakes . Think this is gonna be a new cheeky camp place 😂👍p.s them views are mint .
Loads of places on the top 360 views
Langden Castle - I've been up there a few times. Those arched jamb stones in the building seem very out of place for such a remote spot. Apparently it's on the old original track way from the Ribble Valley to Lancaster and some have speculated that Langdon Castle fits the "dark foreboding place" mentioned in Arthurian legend for the location for the Green Chapel where Gawain fought the Green Knight.
Hiya - thanks for letting me know a bit more of the history- been up Bowland a lot now after moving to Blackpool
Hi Absolutely brilliant mate. Loved watching this. Like you, I live in Blackpool and I've really started spending more time in the Forest of Bowland. I really love the peacefulness of the area, as you said you walk for miles and see no one. I had a camp on the summit of Hazelhurst Fell only last Tuesday. Well done on completing the trail, and hope you have a good few weeks at work. All the best mate. Dave
Hi Dave agree it's a great area to explore
Another great vid Phil....... Bloody mozzies 😁😁 Hard to believe those poor souls were made to walk there for trial......
Quite humbling tbh - will never know the route they had to go but it would of been hard
Nice going Phil. Mosquitoes 🦟 can be a pest. Great hike. Take care 👍 😊
Nice one Phil. Love seeing these less well known trails, and especially ones that are close to me. Looking forward to seeing you cross the forest of Bowland. My local hills, I love hiking there. All the best mate
Thanks 👍
Great video Phil. Quite the challenge with nav indeed. Bloody hate cows 😁😁.
Cows all over the place
Nice going Phil. Have a wonderful afternoon 😊
Thanks, you too!
Nice video Phil. Interesting history. Thank you for sharing 😊
Just found your video it’s a tad cold on them moors I go running over them in all weather and I noticed that you were walking around in circles glad you decided to head back to the woods some cracking places in there to camp and you got a good spot were you got in the end plus you wasn’t far of a track what people walk along anyway nice little video you made 👍
Hi cheers yep forst time on that moor so basically basically just wandered around
Well done.
No frills. Great. Thanks for sharing 🔥
Go Ed Aldo mate, Been watching your Journeys , Really enjoy them this looked a decent one besides the weather. Keep the vids coming and keep pushing Brother and Best wishes. NAT ⚜.
Cheers buddy weather was all over the place hope to be out for a 4 day walk end of July
Great achievement Phil, not an easy walk, the sections I’ve done so far of the Cambrian way zig zag quite a lot as it’s trying to take you up as many of the mountains as possible, so reckon your hiker app is probably correct. Have u tried using a footprint with the durston? I’ve just bought one for this kind of weather as the inner is so easy to remove and the footprint should help a lot to keep it dry. I know it’s more weight but worth it if you know conditions going to be bad.
Hiya i have sold the Durston now - just wasn't for me - yep super zig baggy but a good walk
That’s a shame what was it you didn’t like? And what have you gone for?
@@stewartgregson8479 to fiddly to pitch gone for a Sierra Design High Route for multi day hikes - use other's for winter and normal wild camps
Nice going Phil.Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day 😊
Hi Phil. Many congratulations, some achievement that. Very well done. Mother Nature certainly dealt you a crap hand with the weather. There’s no shame in booking in to a hotel. We stayed in a b&b in Keswick on the Cumbria Way. Great to just recharge the body batteries as well as all the tech. Where there is shame though is using all the power in your power bank to listen to the England game. 🤣🤣 All the best mate Dave 😃🥾⛰🏕️🏴
Many thanks
Very interesting Phil I love your hiking adventures, proper trips. I’ve never hiked from Mach but very familiar with Cadir and Dolgellau. Holidayed there lots of times. Cheers Phil. 🍻
Lovely area
Nice going Phil. Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi Phil, well done mate. It’s hard to keep your spirits up when the weather is like that. At least the sun came out for a little while to put a spring back in your step. 😃🥾⛰🏴
3 weeks until I start the trail can’t wait🏕️⛰️🍄🌿💚
Good luck!!
@@PhilAldridge49 thanks mate going to need it!! going to watch your day 3-4 now great vids by the way
@@leehough6479 cheers the last few days will be out soon
@@PhilAldridge49 look forward to it bud
Brilliant effort mate we’ll done I’m currently planning a Le jog myself 🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️🚴♀️
Good look - it's a great ride
Another cracking walk Phil. I feel your pain on the pronouncing place names..
We were in Snowdonia 2-15 June, based in Beddgelert. Climbed Moel Siabod on 12 June, then rode out the weather the next day at the National Slate Museum and in our cottage. Looking forward to how you managed, and I want to return and do this thru hike.
I passed through Beggledert - not sure if I got an A hotel there will remember when I edit video tomorrow
Beddlegert was a lovley place - i stayed at the campsite and got flooded - even held up for 30 mins in the public loo at Beddgelert while it hammered down
Nice one Phil
Nice going Phil 😊
