'SKYLLA' is the solo project of composer and bassist Ruth Goller (Melt Yourself Down, Rokia Traore, Sam Amidon, Vula Viel) - featuring herself on bass guitar and vocals, as well as featuring outstanding UK vocalists Lauren Kinsella (Snowpoet) and Alice Grant (Matthew Herbert).
The music takes inspirations from Bulgarian folk song, to Free Jazz, to 'Joyce' to the Italian Alps from where she hails - with bewitching compositions, featuring bass guitar harmonics in different tuning systems sparkling underneath other-worldly polyphonic songs.
‘SKYLLA' takes after the mythical three-headed sea monster of the same name, their music is both mysterious and arresting - in it’s own intimate and unique way.

I like this and am intrigued by the subject; it's frustrating that I cannot make out the lyrics, however, as I feel they would add another layer to appreciating the piece.
Thanks for a wonderful show at Cheltenham Jazz Festival. Healing 😉❤️

Bellísima!!!
Excellent creative work Ruth! Also, good to see that you use the plectrum on the bass at times.
"Theories" brought me here. U too?
No, tell me more. I hear Ruth on radio shows like Match & Fuse on Worldwide fm and Questing w/ Zakia on NTS.
She is amazing
brilliant!
Sublime
Incredible!
I is One (M10) is the last one of the series of compositions.I have been playing around with micro-tuning and enjoying the tension it adds. The slow pace adds to this tension. It's eerie, more like a journey than a tune. I wanted to write something i have not heard before. There is some horror in it, fears you can't face, sadness so sad it becomes comforting, but beauty all the way through. this tune is a lone wolf.
Beautiful, Ruth.
Amazing Ruth.. I needed this.
Beautiful!
