It would be nice to have the money to buy all the horses and limbers that would be on the board for each gun. 😊
Great thoughts and comments. Thank you. Where did you get your movement trays? Thank you.
I bought them from a spanish firm MKZ bases
Hi! my lancers steal one enemy back attacks when make charge first round
Sorry, what do you mean?
It is my home rule for lancers :).when lancers charge, they reduce enemy back attacks on one.so cost lancers may be increased on couple points :)
@@user-tj4to2kd8z Now I've understand. Jervis Johnson said during playtest that extra ability cost 1 more point. I did the same for the French Dragoon paying Carbine for them
O.k.I will proceed like this!
One more question! What you think about charge? To make more dramma on battlefield ,l do not use fix distance (12 and 18 inches). instead for infantry 2d6,for cavalry 3d6
More pls
I'm working on new tutorials, be more specific, what is your interest?
More of this please!
A few interesting and good tips. Personally, I usually try to use historical setups, even if that seems very limiting. But I should try detachments. 🤔
Well, I try to play historical as much as I can with my models (I haven't enough of them to field two division in 28mm. Detachments in my view of the game are small units made from the voltigers and deployed in front of the brigade, or Riflemen units similarly deployed by the Brtish, so I don't see them ass unhistorical. I tested both the options: Use light infantry from the same brigade in cooperation with their Line batalions or deployed in a large Brigade made all of light infantry. Playing a lot both the options and I felt that the first solution works better for the French wile the second suits better the British... Still testing, every game is a "per se" game...
@@TabletopHistory-ex7qn That's true. I also see detachments on the French side as historically appropriate. Especially at Austria you are strongly tied to historical lineups. Like their commanders at the time. 😉
Superb and impressive showcase!

Thank you very much, sorry for the delay, I've missed the message.
Now that I've finally worked through the 2nd edition "V & F" and the first test game behind me, I hope to find a few interesting things here. Lots of nicely painted figures. 👍 By the way, I wouldn't repaint the figures, especially the Scots Grey. Hardly any army is painted 100 percent correctly. 😉
In the end, if you have seen I changed their heands and transformend in regular heavy dragoon... Thank you.
@@TabletopHistory-ex7qn It's a shame, I think it's better to paint something new and maybe you'll get to 1815 soon. Thanks for the answer.
@@totalburnout5424 Well, I started with the 100 days, mostly because the first part of my collection was inherited from a fried who had already assembled them in such way. But I decided to move to the Peninsula due to the possibility to have more variation in the casual games. At that time (and still at the moment) my pile of shame was so huge that the idea of new models and more painting job scared me 😀😀😀
@@TabletopHistory-ex7qn I understand. 😀 The 100 days are iconic, but really don't offer enough options. Also started with the French for Quatre Bras. Then my teammate jumped off. Later built Austria as a second army.
Very interesting. I didn't know the system yet. I would have assumed that the tactics depended more on the terrain. My favorite for solo play at the moment is Grant's "Programmed Wargame Scenarios". William Silvester's "Solo Wargaming Guide" is also good, but more suitable for campaigns. Experimented a bit with RPG solo engines - for example Mythic Emulator - but these would have to be rewritten to make them work. Someday... Nice video! 👍
Thank you. If you need the cards file feel free to contact me on FB. You will find my contact on Valor & Fortitude page. Scroll for may post and will see the contact.

Does V and F have army lists for other nations? Austrians, Russians, Spanish etc
Yes sure that it has, and not only for napoleonic, chet them out on the Perry Miniatures website. look for V&F rules and armysheet. They are all free to download.
I wanna a pretty witch and an her charm against the bad luck!!!!😭😭
I'm sorry my friend, the God of dice are clearly aginst you, despite your effort. you play well. Mancò la fortuna, non l'ardore!
What a game! Looked great. Very back and forth, but some brutal activation failures
Back and forth, not the bestiality that I've muttered, but I miss the words at the right moment... 🤣🤣. But yes the battle for the small hill was a real slaughter. My friend's dice were pitiful, but in the end it was a very great game. I cannot say fun, because I think that with a so bad rolls, in the end he didn't have so much fun and even I would have preferred a more balanced game. It was what it was, in the end a quite good reenactment of Salamanca...
Sorry about the loss of your companion. :( I am thinking of using V & F so I appreciate your vids.
Try it, it's a great game, simple and fast, simple, but not simplicistic.
I am sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a companion is so tough. Thank you for putting this together and bringing some Light into another Gamer's day and how you adapt things to solo gaming. I am also mostly a solo gamer. Take care of yourself in your grieving sir.

@@TabletopHistory-ex7qn Fully understand that feeling, roughly 3 years ago i also had to say goodbye to my buddy that was with me for almost 21 years, what helped me a bit is going to a shelter(after some time had passed) and give 2 sad fluffers a wonderful life. Even though i still, horribly miss him and he obviously has a special place in my heart, this massively helped me to get over it.
Surely I will do, need time to recover, especially my wife.

Such a great pleasure to watch these gorgeous armies, and this period (this is also the period of my next video, I really like the Roman army of this era)...A nice report and a great looking game!👍👍
Thank you, it was a great game indeed...
What image did you use for your dice
It's the "N" of Napoleon and a stylized Union Jack. both found on internet. The french set of dice was made by a Spanish firm "Mokko" which made customized dice, you have to upload your image and they will carved it into the dice set, the second set were made in the past in a British firm which a forgot the name, I made them for Flames of War more than 10 years ago...
Dope thumbnail bro just subscribed to your youtube channel
Thanks
Can I ask where you got the solo opponent's options cards from? A great report and enjoyable watch. Many thanks
It's adjutant introvable. But I had to work out some adaptation to use it with V&F. I may send you the home rules and the PDF of the "defense card" but you need to contact me on Facebook in order to get the files. Adjutant introvable is findable on line for few euros... about 5...
Great report. I like how the game plays.
Thank you. Yes it's a great game, and it works pretty well for solo too
Good advice for designing a brigade. Two other considerations that you might want to take into account. First, a large brigade means that more units won't be able to perform an action if they don't activate. For example, if you have 12 units in a force, they could be divided into two brigades of 6 units each or 3 brigades of 4 units each. If you fail an activation test with two brigades, then half of your units can't perform an action, but only one-third won't be able to perform an action if you use 3 brigades. Second, brigades should contain an odd number of units because of the penalty to fortitude tests once half of a brigade's units are destroyed. For example, the penalty would be applied after two units are destroyed in a four unit brigade, but three units would have to be routed in a five unit brigade.
Thank you for your comments. Yes you are right, especially if you think to a casual games. In this case your considerations are especially true. If you play withy hystorical scenario though, you have to cope with what they have. On the other hands, deploying small brigade make the Fortitude test more risky, because if you have 5 active units at the moment of the test, it is with +1 to the roll. Sometimes a defeat could be managed, sometimes not... So in the end, most of the time it's a matter of balancing between hystorical precision and playability; this is one of the aspect of the game that I love.
Grazie del video!
grazie a te
According to the latest Designer's Comments, there must be a space at least 1/4 inch per figure on a base between bases. With four figures on a base, with two in the front rank, that means that there must be at least a 1/2" gap between bases for open order. The video makes it look like there is a maximum of maybe 1/4" between bases. Thus the battalion would be even farther spaced apart than they are in the video.
I have to admit, I don't measured the distance, but suppose that this will change little on a lagrer table till player do not use this gaps as advantage avore the opponent.
Hi you mentioned early in the video that you were reluctant to use your swiss in the peninsula as they were not there. I would not profess to be any expert in Napoleonic wargaming but I believe the swiss were presnt in the peninsula conflict. I have three swiss regiments in 15mm , 2nd 3rd and 4th. In addition my book "wargame scenarios peninsula war" has a generic french army in portugal 1808 inlcudes a swiss regiment they are referred to as "elite arrogant" so I think scope to increase melee or tenacity. Your videos are great and a super learning aid.
Thanks, I didn't fond reference to swiss in the Peninsula, but ehy, in this case, very good...
Great Batrep, thank you!
Thank you. Yes, in the end was a great game, even if it's a solo...

Yes, but it was a matter of dice... my friend failed almost any Valor and Fortitude test he was called to take. I Lost only the two light cavalry... Anyway, it was a great game...

Nice video! Any thoughts on detachments vs. full battalions of light? I watched with closed caption, so I might have missed any comments during this video.
Because I'm planning a video dedicated to Detachment, you have to wait a little...
Alessandro, I may have misheard, but I thought friendly units could move through each other (interpretation)? Para. 6.3 "Figures can move across friendly units".
If they are of the same brigade, but if you deploy light infantries in a single brigade they cannot retreat across the following brigade of line infantry.
bello "triggerare"... 😁

leggendo sempre regolamenti e altri testi in inglese succede spesso anche a me di utilizzare termini di quel genere 😉
