I used to love taking off in a loaded ANG Fokker F28, or watching a takeoff, from the shorter airstrips in PNG. Full throttle, aircraft shaking, lots of noise & often a turn straight after lift off (Arawa, or the old Rabaul airport). Adds a little excitement to the day.

this airport was oted the worst airport 2011 I first arried in 1987and it still has not got much better

The only airlines u see nowadays is airlines png and air niugini but somoan airlines or airways or whatever is trying to get connections

I ate at Sweet Ideas and their service was fantastic. The attendant was friendly and very responsive and accomodating. One thing I really appreciate about the Philippines is that their service sector really knows how to treat consumers. You will always leave having received good service and a smile. The accuracy in which your orders are taken at restaurants can be a little off at times, but it may be due to the visitors' foreign accent.

My Dad used to work for Air Niugini. Great country PNG grew up there.

Nice..I once flew Air Niugini between Brisbane & Port Moresby and the FAs were great.

I was in PNG in 2008 on business. Before i left I did research and found that it was rated the most dangerous place to live besides Baghdad. but when I went there, it was nothing like that (or at least i didn't see it). PNG is gorgeous and with some sprucing up, can be a lavish resort place.
