Hi there, Gel Kayano and Gt 2000 are similar feelings when on foot, it should be left up to the purchaser to make the decision.

Thanks for the video. This has been my go-to shoe (purchased from you guys!), and I've stuck with it for years now. Asics has progresively been reducing the tread on this shoe and the 25 now has almost zero tread. I've had trouble with this in the 24, e.g., coming down a steep hill on a trail with that slip-slidey small gravel, and my 25s have even less depth to the tread. Would there be a similar neutral shoe to the gel nimbus that still has some depth on its tread to help with the grip in this kind of situation? (As a p.s. I like the mesh upper, BUT where I am I sometimes run on the beach and walking down through the soft sand to the harder sand, the shoes fill up with sand through the mesh...oh well.)
Hi Alison, Absolutely. Another popular Asics shoe is the Trabuco 11 (we have another video on this) which is a trail shoe. This means the tread is a lot better but it is softer, so it won't wear as well with lots of road/concrete use. They also do the 2000 11 TR which is a hybrid shoe (can be used for road and trail) however, this does have some arch support. Feel free to give us a ring if you would like to discuss further!
