Eddie Bauer Stowaway 20L Packable Daypack Backpack
Here's my review of the Eddie Bauer Stowaway 20L Packable Daypack Backpack, a great option if you need a packable bag to use as a daypack once you arrive at your destination while traveling, or to transfer items from a larger carry on to use while you're on the plane. Hope you find it helpful!

Cotopaxi Allpa 28L Travel Backpack - What's in My Bag
มุมมอง 10K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a great bag for short trips and for people who want to travel light and compact. Please see my video to see what I packed in the bag! I have posted a separate video showing a comparison between the Cotopaxi Allpa 28L and the COR Surf 28L bags: th-cam.com/video/pInWyVr3224/w-d-xo.html
Bag Review & Comparison - Cotopaxi Allpa 28L vs. COR Surf 28L Travel Backpack
มุมมอง 19K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my review and comparison of the Allpa Del Dia 28L Travel Backpack and the COR Surf 28L Travel Backpack. If you're thinking of getting either of these bags, hope this video helps you decide! I have also posted a separate video of What's in My Bag for the Allpa 28L bag so feel free to check that out: th-cam.com/video/iXBki9Bd_gw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the review!
Great review! Thank you 👌
Nice :)
I decided to get the Cor Surf Island Hopper bundle pack it comes with the backpack 28L, one shoe / laundry bag, 2 compression bags, one toiletry bag. All of it for $125.00 that's within my price range. I also like the 3 color choice options because you don't stand out so much as the colorful Cotopaxi one. I'm getting the black pne I like the sleek lines it has.
Love my allpa. Good to see a review and comparison. I actually went with the allpa for the colourfulness. The one gripe I have is that my "el dia" bag that was listed as "green" only has a very small green panel and is mainly blaze pink and purple. But heck, what gives, it's easy to find, anywhere, anytime and it is well made.
Thanks for your great review!😊
Great review! I am debating between these 2 bags and have the same opinion -- Cor Surf has a few "extra" nice features (2 hidden pockets on the back and the water bottle sleeve) but Cotopaxi just seems like a much better bag overall. If only Cotopaxi also had those features, it would be perfect!
One thing you forgot to mention is cotopaxi is twice heavier than cor surf!
This is an awesome review i been looking at the cotopaxi 42l backpack i been wanting a large travel backpack to go along with my large duffle bag when I travel. I like the multicolored cotopaxi cause of the bright unique colors. This was a very helpful video thank you i know which one I’m purchasing im excited to travel with it
good job, thanx 🙂
1- very helpful overall but you need to speak up a bit! 2- wow, you don't exactly pack light lol (17 lbs?)! but this shows just how much you can fit into that 28-liter pack! Quite helpful overall, thanks for what you do! 🙂
Thank you so much! This is the only video I found on the web comparing those two bags!
Just purchased the COR 28L which has switched to YKK zips as of April 2024
The material closer to the Cotopaxi now?
is that the only change?
Good review thanks, im going for the Cor Sruf because all the pros you had mentioned plus their new version has YKK water/splash resistant zipper now plus a hip belt for this model
Didn't realize they had updated the bag! Seems like a much more comparable purchase now.
I love your packing cubes - where did you find them?
great review - very helpful
I literally never comment on videos and I really appreciate this comparison! Since it's been a year since you made this video, can you update and let us know how they both held up? Thank you so much.
I ended up returning the Cor Surf and keeping the Cotopaxi. I actually got it in 28L and 35L. Love the 28L for proper travel as a personal item but I use the 35L for road trips and I love the extra space. Very happy with both bags. I do still think the Cor Surf has some better features (the mesh side pocket, the luggage strap, the hidden pockets) but I still feel the Cotopaxi is better quality. If I need more in the future (for other family members) I would probably try the Cor Surf especially since they added a hip belt and better zippers.
Thanks so much for the follow up. Interesting that the Cotpaxi is more durable. I would hope so for the price tag difference. I bought the 40L Cor Surf specifically for the upgraded zipper and belt strap. Also, I wanted the bigger size so I can travel with just the backpack for 3-5 day travel. I was afraid of how bulky the 40 would be full so I shoved it full of towels and tried it on. It was big, but not crazy cumbersome or obnoxious looking. I have other ‘regular’ backpacks I use as a personal carry-on when I take real suitcases. So the smaller sizes weren’t much interest to me. Again, thanks so much for the review. It was very informative and helpful!
Thanks for telling me how tall you were. Most models that are on line are 5'7" and I need to see how it looks on someone my size. I'm going to Europe for 2 weeks in August and my plan is to take a small rolling suitcase and this backpack as luggage.
Packing is light definitely easier for small people! Good video. It helps to list items you find useful for travel pinned in your comments.
Hi, Dolly, I just subscribed and liked!
WONDERFUL! You said this would fit under seat in front of me?!!! Yay! I love this bag, and I would like to travel to England (2 weeks but no dress events) using only a carry-on and this! Actually, in this I want to put my "man purse" and a decent-sized toiletry bag, plus hopefully sox and underwear, whatever else I can shove in it! Thanks!
I saw more of your face than the bag
Thank you for this review! I almost bought the Cor for the features and price, but I've learned over my travels that build quality and warranty matter more so I went with the Allpa.
I wish we could hear you. Also wish you showed how to pack it back up too.
I have the Cotopaxi 35L and adore it. I'll be buying the 28L soon. I struggled with possibly buying the COR... But I'm in a place where I can afford to support Cotopaxi's business ethos. I totally understand that not everyone is, but it's something to take into consideration. Regarding the Del Dia line colouring... I LOVE how different it is from the standard black carry ons and makes it so easy to keep track of when stowed etc. The security zipper feature is surprisingly easy to use and simultaneously effective. 😂 According to my husband that was trying to access some paperwork from my bag while I slept - "how the heck do you get into your bag" he asked the next morning after giving up. 😂
You should totally buy it right now They have a deal where you spend 150 and you get a free back pack
Thanks for the review. Very helpful.
I had a waterproof bag from Oakley and after some years started to peeling/flaking off in the interior. That's the reason I am looking for another one. I'm really inclined to buy the COR one. So, it is not good to hear about the durability issues. Have anyone experienced any problems?
Nice comparison. I opted for the Cotopaxi 28l for a European trip in September. I love the quality and the look…very distinctive. Can’t wait!
I find the laptop chargers (I take 2) take up a lot of space. Where to you put them? The pocket for hiding the straps is handy when carrying the bag onto a plane by the side handle and keeping straps organised for overhead lockers. Does yours have a side handle?
Great review, please post an update after you use it.
Thank you for sharing! This was so helpful and I love the hidden pockets on the Cor Surf bag.
I agree the hidden pockets are great!
Interesting, I was curious about this but it's a little hard to hear you over the crinkling.
I’m also petite so I appreciate you mentioning that. Very nice job at packing.
Great job reviewing the bags, great presentation in your voice.
This is the exact review I was looking for. Thank you very much!
This was a really thorough and well presented review! Thank you for helping me make up my mind. Going to order the Cotopaxi
Great video! Thanks!
They used to have compression straps in the original 28l alpa, but switched to a gusseted compartment after customer feedback. I have the 2nd iteration of the alpa 28l and the 35 l as well. Don’t know that I am missing the compression straps, but they might be useful. Great review though!
great overview
Maybe I missed it but where do you keep a water bottle?
There's no designated spot. You can clip it to the outside of the bag or slip it inside the bag. The Cor Surf bag does have a mesh side pocket for a water bottle.
Thanks!
I just got my Rust Cotopaxi Allpa 28l and mine definitely has the straps inside of it to tighten the clothes etc. I'm so in love with it and can't wait to use it on my first trip coming up.
Perfect packing job, so organized and beautiful!
I have been waiting for someone to compare these two packs. I have been on the fence regarding the Cor Surf yet noticed it is very similar to the Cotopaxi. Thank you so much for making this video!
What was your final decision?
@@batohola7581 I’m still trying to decide. Part of the issue are the materials. They look like rubber.
@@Donut_Tube I think I will get the Cotopaxi!
Omg this looks perfect for my minimalist 5 day trip. I just want to use a backpack for my flight and this looks amazing.
GOTTA SAY COR SURF SUPER DURABLE!!!!!!!!
Terrific review!!!!!!🌟
Thank you for the review, the Cor Surf is much lighter, has a water bottle holder, and security pockets and the strap would stabilize the load better. also, it is almost half the price of the Allpa. I returned the Allpa and used the cor surf and it did great.
Is it still going strong?
my COR is about a year old, about six trips, from weekends to Europe. I have some minor holes courtesy of a curious cat, but I don’t have the sense it will be a big problem. I have gear patches on it. I chose COR for less weight, and as “sustainable” as scrap fabric is, I still think Cotopaxi looks like kid’s kit. (One way to be sustainable is fewer color options)
@@truepeacenik Awesome!! I actually opted for the COR 28l in black and I am really happy with it so far! And there are sooooo many 1 star reviews on the Coating of the Cotopaxi Alpa peeling and cracking and getting ugly. And I couldn't risk Del Dia being super ugly (and loud obvi). I figured if it's going to be inevitable, I'd much rather have it happen on a $94 bag than a $200 bag that is more of "lifetime investment" backpack. Thanks for your reply!!
I love the blue color of your Cotopaxi! My del dia is coral-red. Was just happy to have any color as it was hard to find when I ordered it. The color (which I love as fashion but had not considered for luggage) has grown on me and is fun. Thanks for reviewing details! All the things I love about my Cotopaxi. 😊
