WRX has a 5 speed with a 2L motor. The STI has a 6 speed and a 2.5L motor, among other things. The first STI (at least in the states) was the 2004. I don’t remember what year it was, but they started out as a WRX being a trim level of the Impreza. Eventually, they made the WRX its own model, with its own different trim levels. I’ve got a 2004 Impreza WRX wagon. Either way, cool video.
@@OOOHBILLY Thanks for the info I liked the car because it came with cool looking front bucket seats. Hopefully going to get the interior out of it today
Thanks for this, great idea and video. You mentioned wires on the slabs... What do we need to do there?
@@junaidkhatib7925 www.discovery2.co.uk/diff_lock.html Have a read through that link it gives a good explanation of the wiring to disconnect in it. I have yet to do this on mine. There is a lot to read online about the traction control and the Central Diff lock conflicting each other
Hi, did you remove all the pipes and the unit on the side of the chassis? Also did you replace the fluid bottle so its a single power steering bottle rather then the dual bottle ? Mine has just split a pipe and dumped all its oil so i wanted to delete it to eliminate any further pipes or the pump and belt failing just got to do it sooner now theres a fault. Thanks in advance
@@LeeBriggenshaw I removed all the pipes and the ACE unit on the chassis. The pipes on the O/S of the engine are a pig to get out. I’ve kept the original power steering/ Ace dual bottle just blanked it off for ACE. Replaced all anti roll bars and link arms with standard ones
Perfect, thank you 👍🏻
@ Just remember I’m running the wrong width belt so make sure you get the 7PK
OK mate thank you 👍🏻
Off the top of my head I think it’s a 10mm Allen key but I’m not 100% sure
What size hex is that pressure relief bolt?
I currently have the wrong PK belt on there if my memory is correct a 6PK belt is currently on there but requires a 7PK
Hi you need to put a washer behind your pulley as you can see the aux belt riding up on one side. Hope this helps
Thanks Nigel I never got a response either a good seal manufacturer or hydraulic repair specialist could help with replacement seals
Great video! Just wondering why bother putting the engine cover back on? Doesn't seem to do anything and stops a quick visual inspection of pipes and seals should they start leaking.
@@nickmactools thank you I just like to see everything where it should be that’s the only reason I think it could possibly help with the thermal efficiency
Great channel subbed where are you based
Thanks mate much appreciated South of Dublin
I emailed Coram to see if they did a replacement seal set or the one that holds the plastic cup with no response either. If anyone knows of a supplier please let me know. Thank you Nigel
The contact info for the stores I use for parts and products I used for chassis protection can be found in the description 👍🏻
Forgot to say guys the Discovery now has 196000 miles on it
There was a message warning not to remove lid. I’m not sure to be honest I would love to know how it’s bled ready to go. I can see no issue if you have removed the lid re bleeding it. Maybe back bleeding might work better
If that lid comes off when fitting the new one does that mean its knackered. I’m guessing if you top it up it won’t fix it as it’ll need bleeding again
