Very nice turntable, I did similar mods to my Goldring Lenco GL75 which is fitted with a Syrinx PU3 arm and a good MC cartridge. I couldn’t be happier. I also want a Gerrard 401 in my collection someday. Nice job, enjoy the music

I built a Sunn 200 folded horn clone using biscuit joinery. It was a custom job I took to give myself the challenge and to give this cat a good deal: an empty dual 15" folded horn for $300 out of home depot birch plywood. It came out very beautiful and was very sensible and light. I fancied up some B.I.C. Venturi Formula 6's I have and now dabbling in Live Sound stuff. I subscribed.

That was SIIICK! I also totally agree with horn loaded PA speakers as HiFi!! Add subs if you wanna go crazy! I use mine as home theater!

Is such a horn only for big rooms?

Hi Just saw this. I have a similar pair of Altec clones using 817A bass horn and Markus Klug 1505 horns. Bass horns have GPA 515's in parallel, and Radian 950 be compression drivers. 1st order series xo with L pad for mid attenuation. Plan to put the autoformer in there . currently driving them with Thomas Mayer 6CB5A mono blocks. cheers

Funny enough your two speakers look a bit like my whole Hifi system. Wiim mini, an optical cable and two Joseph Crowe 1815 (also 15" 2-way) actively driven with Hypex Fusion FA123. That might not fit into your product line of tube amp + high eff. speakers, but it's minimalistic, no clutter in the living room and with the DSP you can do things that otherwise don't work with tubes (time-align the drivers, woofer goes down below 30 Hz in room, adjustable tonality and room modes can be compensated in the Wiim Mini EQ).

I’m curious did you get a chance to listen to them in an open baffles from and your impression?

Nice to see people embracing horns for the lower frequencies, which is tough to do right and have decent time alignment and blending with the higher frequency driver(s). I’ll look for your follow up to see what you have brought to fruition.

With big Klipsch's, the Midrange compression driver, and crossover are easily accessible. ( La Scalas,Belles, Klipsch Horns.) It's fun to play around!, since i have about 6 pairs of vintage and professional drivers,and about 4 different types of horns to play with, Truth;;;; It's all about mixing and matching! I have JBL Cast Frame Pro Woofers to try as well. EV Pro woofers are damn good as well! Klipsch started using cheaper stamped frame woofers back in the late 70's, instead of the Electrovoice cast woofers. Paul Klipsch was very frugal! It was primarily the symbiotic partnership between Klipsch and Electrovoice that Built both companies. Early heritage Designs used Atlas compression drivers. I have some. Have fun!

I am a long time musician, own a large PA system, woodworker, speaker reconer, DIY audio member and own a few books on speaker design. I’d like to build multicellular horns for my PA system. Hey Justin. Greetings from Spain. I've been devouring your content for the las couple of days and I just wanted to say thanks for sharing so much knowledge for free with the world! I'm a noob in this hi-fi thing, but I've been itching to try my luck in a DIY project. I happen to have a pair of Zu DW at home and I heard you description of them is some other video. I think that's the final input that I needed to try to make a couple of Cornscalas.

I have a 3rd order crossover for my gpa 604s in 620 cabs. I couldn't find a front panel bracing configuration to improve the sound, but it feels wrong to have it just be a giant peice of plywood flopping around. Excited to see what you come up with!
