Great reaction! I do like to provide a different viewpoint on this song. Not that you are wrong, but since every relationship is different, sometimes the people who view Chinchilla's partner as the one at fault here are at risk of falling into an endless cycle. This comes from my own life experience, plus my experiences with clients as a therapist and finally, from my exploration, study, and practice of Buddhist lifestyle (I don't take the label as I am open tp explore and learn all philosophies and religious thought ascling as they do not try to abjectly control me). So, at the end, she says she's sorry. Here's my understanding: When we take to placing our own expectations of behavior and thought as expectations on another, we are putting them in a cage. We expect them to act in a way that fits our own needs, expecting the other person to conform. We put out to them an unspoken threat of retaliation (emotional or behavioral reactions). They are ensnared by your preconceived ideas of who they need to be and even if they match that early in the relationship they are not freely able to change as they develop as a person without threat of trouble. So what counters this? Well, for me, it was connection within me; integration. I don't to use the word 'self' because in Western culture it is usually cognitive in nature. You connect deeply with your own existence...without thoughts. Learning to experience life without a thought stream is freeing. And it creates a very different perspective on our partners. We do not have to be attached to a specific recognizable pattern of verbal or actionable behaviors. It took me 10 years to learn this in my marriage (18 years now) I always saw her as the cold, heartless one. Turns out she acts out love behaviorally. I only recognized verbal. Once I became strong within myself and stopped expecting her to feed my needs, she started reaching out more, in her own expression, not as a task to keep me feeling wanted. Once she was truly free, she chose me. Me? I have all of my human emotions and bumps and missteps, of course, but I am always loved. Always. And I don't require anyone else. I am truly free. And I chose her.

She's definitely my favourite female singer, very underrated & deseves to be a major world star. She has the same emotional quality in her voice as Ren.
