Dynjandi - Gulli Björnsson (UNBOUND) performed by JIJI
มุมมอง 10K3 ปีที่แล้ว
How can you capture the beauty and the intensity of a magnificent Icelandic waterfall? What would it sound like? This is one of the most challenging pieces I've ever performed. The piece is called DYNJANDI and is part of UNBOUND, a commissioning project/album concept/recital program and it is to explore what virtuosity looks/sounds like in the 21st century. I've asked 8 amazing composers from a...

Would it resemble music by Paganini? Chopin? Or Steve Vai? I'm so excited to finally share my latest project with you... Dimmar Öldur Rísa (Dim waves rise) Million thanks to Four/Ten Media and Gulli Bjornsson. Dimmar Öldur Rísa tells the story of capsizing and falling into the ocean, bouncing around in the waves as it gets dark, until the ocean waves consume you. A source of inspiration is this verse from an Icelandic poem, written by Jónas Hallgrímsson (1807-1845) in 1832: Hví viltu, andsvala (excerpt) Hví viltu...

Great job!! Very nice, Jiji.
I saw Gretchen Menn play this live with the Utah symphony. Jiji also does an amazing job bringing this piece to life
Partitura mtra?

I love the acoustic at the beginning so beautiful
One of the best Steve Mackey compositions I have heard. Jiji shows amazing diversity and skill switching between classical and electric and even slide guitar. I am looking forward to hearing more of her performances!
Fantastic!
dope
멋진 협연! 손톱에 신경 많이 썼겠네요.
interesting
Aluminum flowers instead of Autumn flowers nice…yeah she can get it ❤
Awesome concerto and video
Lovely !
This masterpiece by Bach is a fine example of his that is 'perfect', but only as written on paper - it's actually impossible to play 'perfectly'. One can only aspire to realise the conceptual notion of 'perfection' that Bach only recorded as dots and lines - yet nobody can, hence it's enduring appeal throughout the centuries. It wasn't written for people, but as thanks to God for his existence. If you ever endeavour to play Bach (and I can think of no higher aspiration) then know that you're on a journey that can never be completed, but that it's the journey itself that is the point.
Really? Because lukasz kuropaczewski plays it perfectly

Brava! Beautiful technique and expression! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Virtuoso galore! Brava! Love the inspiration of the waterfall in Iceland! Gorgeous.
There area many accomplished guitarists in this world, but only a few of those gifted with the humility as well as the skill and accomplishment to enable them to act as an accompanist and recognise the talents of artists of other instruments. Well done Jiji
Great sounding guitar - Filtertron-style pickups in a strat is very unique.
spotify please
super cool. i wish youtube recommended more stuff like this!
I like these more melodic compositions.
Well played, but strange composition.
We're looking forward to hearing this in Houston at the Menil Collection on November 13 and 14, along with the rest of this duo's remarkable program.
Lovely piece and great playing. I’m looking forward to your concert in Nashville on Sunday
Bravo...waw...oo
Beautiful piece and performance Jiji ❤
You are such a gifted player and inspiring!!
Wow!!
Keep it up. Very nice. I'll try and make your 11 March show.
Guitar playing was great. Did not care for the water noises or the breathing.
HATE 11 & finale!! just not the right instrument for it. if you cant finish this properly the whole thing is fvcked. the finale is supposed to blow your fvcking head off. this version is as tame as a wee church dormouse.
Woah.
Muy bueno
Nice
It's good.
Don't stop.
Don't look up
I really feel that the electric guitar and its infinite possibilities have made the acoustic instrument nearly obsolete, insofar as they both are tools that an artist uses to evoke emotion. This moved me far more than any classical guitar piece could, with no disrespect to the art. This is the sound of the world I was born into.
Love it!!!!!!!
Wouderful performance, Thank you very much!! Bravo!!Amazing!! 🥀⛪🕊️ John Poppy
amazing
Yes!!!!!!!! Love the use of space. More UNBOUND please.
Been ages since I've wanted to try to play this. Bravo!
What a lovely performance. Beautifully played!!
that was superb
好好聽,彈的熟練。
Just wow... 😯
Reading the criticism from other musicians in the comments of REAL musicians makes me want to throw food at those people. Not salad either. I want to pour a giant pot of red bean chili all over your new white shirt. You just talk your shit with NO proof that you can even play. Just enjoy this gorgeous woman play amazing music and fuck off.
