Put your staff in your left hand and you can use the dagger in the same time in a case of enemy getting closer. Also, you can dual wield this dagger if you hold it in right hand at any point by pressing Triangle on your controller and stop dual-wielding to use your staff again.

this game does look fun

Just hold left or right when they warp you out, you'll never get hit. I love subnautica, but man all the enemies are too easy to deal with, and really only have the horror/jump scare thing going for them. I usually just send these guys packing with a couple swings of the knife. They're probably the only enemy not worth killing though. Unless you have like.. an hourr to waste.

The rim looks real smooth on the console, also all I can say is you might want to go into stone cutting and replace those very pretty but very flammable wooden walls of yours :p
