    I can feel how hard they have to work and how much heat on a small spot they have to get rid of. I use multiple 1000W and 200W DC DC buck/boost converters running somewhat „power“ transistors with up to 30A passthrough on the power input and up to 10A 100V output.

    The main essential problem is a leakage inductance - because turns ratio is quite big - for example 200kV / 36V = 6111. I have an experience with build a mid-voltage pulse transformers (flyback and simple), but there turns ratio is 10-20. How do the engineers solves this problem?
