Hello , Thank you for your message. I’d love to Help you but unfortunately due to suffering with Motor Neurone Disease I had to stop teaching and driving for safety reasons a few years ago. It now has me Paralysed from the neck down and I can't speak.
A lorry nearly crashed straight into me on this roundabout; had to swerve horizontal across 2 lanes🤦🏻♀️thank you for going through it!

There is so many bad drivers in Peterborough I say avoid this roundabout at all costs, some really should not be driving
Thanks for watching the video. I always told my pupils to assume everyone is going to try and kill you. Defensive Driving is always best. You are right, this roundabout is not a fun place to be.
Do they ever ask you to go towards Parnwell? I’m confused at that exit from this way.
Thank you for watching. To my knowledge they don't go that way. But I will double check.
Just asked around. Only driving instructor or large goods vehicle tests go that way.

Hey sir, Could we use lane 4 (inside lane) to take 4th exit and end in inside lane on the exit? Is it compulsory to switch one lane out after every exit to end up in left lane for 4th exit? What if we use 4th lane til the end ? Would it be considered as wrong exit? Or could we do that ? Thanks
In theory yes but I would never do it you will run out of space really fast. Do what is shown in the video for the safest way. In over 30 years of of driving and 16 years of teaching I have never used that method.
7:19 taking 4th exit , if we start from 3rd lane and stayed in the same lane til the exit so would it be wrong? I had my test the other day and drove for 45 mins and failed on eye roundabout. I had started from lane 3 and continued til my 4th exit in same lane to end up in the middle lane exit but my examiner turned my steering wheel, why? Have i done wrong? If we start from 3rd lane should i be in left hand lane right before 4th exit?
I'm very sorry to hear that. What did your instructor have to say about it? In my 16 years of experience I've only ever known the examiners to touch the wheel to prevent a crash. The safest way to do this roundabout is the one shown.

Hello thank you for watching. Yes you can turn right using the right hand lane (lane 4). As I have said to others it is your responsibility to change lane safely. This lane will lead you round to exit into the right hand lane (lane 3) witch soon mergers with the middle (lane 2). There is a very good chance you will run out of space to merge safely. I have seen a number of road traffic incidents through lack of observation this way Or are you referring to leaving the services?
It seems as though one could use the middle lane (after coming off the parkway from Stanground direction) to exit at the fourth exit for the industrial estate - is this correct? It seems so counterintuitive to use that lane, yet it appears to flow round that way. It seems this would cut out the need to move across the lane to exit the roundabout if you were driving that route using the third (right hand) lane, which is often tricky as people drive fast there, but I don’t want to do the wrong thing so if I am incorrect, please do let me know☺️

I'm doing driving lessons, but I decided to buy a motorbike because of the amount of tests unavailable. I have more than 500 hours in Peterborough driving in my motorbike, my biggest problem is still turning right into Rivergate. Now I know, thanks hehe.

Fantastic video! not a learner anymore (5 years ago) but I haven't driven in or around Peterborough for a very long time as I've simply not needed too. This video is a very helpful refresher on this notorious roundabout! Also I watched a few of your other videos around Peterborough and its just fantastic information! When turning right from Paston Parkway to go right around (do a u-turn essentially), which lane would you need? Can you use the 2nd/3rd lane or would you need the 4th?

I go around that roundabout almost every day.Good video but hardly anyone follows the arrows.It is all about MGIF.
Thank you for your comment. You're totally right in what you put. This is why good instructors make such a big deal of all round effective observation. As you have survived it you must be doing that.

Hello thank you for watching my video. I would indicate right only until no one could think you might take lane two on the slip road then cancel the indicator and let your lane position show where you are going. I hope that makes sense?

On this roundabout it very easy to miss exit one to the services.
Very nice. that lower speed on narrow/single track roads is so important, sadly far too few seem to give any consideration, it's not lack of planning/inability to understand the hazard/s, it's a 'I don't give a flying one'. As a cyclist I would have liked to see the rider hold their line instead of moving back in and then coming out to get past parked vehicles especially entering the pinch point were you have priority as this dissuade's drivers from trying to force their way through if you're riding primary position in the lane. Just a really good informative video and excellent driving.

Hi do you know if the ADI routes differ from the normal routes, have my part 2 in January
The part 2 test routes may contain roads and junctions from the standard L test. It is important to pay attention to what is going on around you. All test routes are periodically revised. Best advice. Just drive aim to give the SE a limousine ride and just deal with what you see. Get up to the speed limit when safe to do so and watch your clearances to obstructions and safety gaps. Best of luck to you. Please say hi to the ADI's and DE's at the DTC for me.

Yes, I've been hooted loads of times on that roundabout, usually by boy racers who appear from no where, zooming around it. It's now been branded the most dangerous junction in the UK, with ten casualties in one year.
Not even in the top 10 worst roundabouts in the UK

So you can turn in that filter lane at the beginning if it safe to do so and you are within the filter lane already, even at a red light
Thank you for watching and for your question. Once you'er accross the first line on a green light and then they change yes, you will get a few seconds before the oncoming traffic get a green light. I had one person fail for not turning.
