The huge mistake I find is that yod is not J. Since we are using sounds to transliterate, the sound of yod or yud, is not the sound of j in English. But it is closer to y as in yoke. That is why Yehovah is not Jehovah. These are two distinctive sounds James and Yames sound different. So the letter yod cannot sound jod. Therefore the transliteration of yod cannot be j, but y, if you want to be true to the languages.
Thank you for your comment! I would like to clarify that, in the video, I do not say that י (Yod) is equivalent to the letter J in English. The "J" visible in the image simply indicates the position of the letter י (Yod) in relation to the Latin alphabet. However, it is true that in Hebrew, the sound of י (Yod) corresponds to both the Latin "I" and "Y," but not to "J." That said, it is true that historically, the sound of י (Yod) was often confused with that of "J" in European languages, as is the case in French and English. This explains why the name Yesus was transliterated as "Jesus" in these languages. In reality, י (Yod) corresponds to the Latin "I" or "Y," and not to "J." That being said, all of this is very well explained in the video. I encourage you to watch it more closely.
