Dufour Aerospace’s First Flight in Sweden - September 2024
Sept 4, 2024 - This week, Dufour Aerospace carried out a series of customer demonstrations and tests in Sweden. The flights took place at the Västervik airfield in Sweden, supported by the Västervik Drone Science Park and Savback Helicopters, one of our strategic partners. It was the first deployment of Dufour’s newly created Operations Team. The AeroMini10, Dufour's small-sized test and validation platform, proved its worth in real-world flying.
In a total of 12 automated flights, Dufour’s team demonstrated the capabilities of unmanned tilt-wing aircraft in general and the in-house flight control system in particular. The tests went as planned, and so the team was able to collect a lot of valuable operational experience - outside the comfort zone of our home base in Switzerland.
The AeroMini10 used in this campaign is the smallest member of the Dufour Aerospace tilt-wing family. It is a scaled-down version of the 6-metre-wingspan Aero2. From a systems perspective, it is fully comparable to Dufour’s flagship product, the Aero2. The AeroMini10 allows for carrying out very meaningful flight operations with relatively little effort. This is helpful for proof-of-concept operations or to familiarize potential operators with the system. The platform also has great value for pilot and operator training purposes.
While the system is capable of BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight), the flights of this campaign were carried out within the drone pilots' visual range.

Exciting Update on the Aero2.
มุมมอง 4765 หลายเดือนก่อน
Over the past weeks, our dedicated team has been hard at work assembling the components of the Aero2. First, the team connected all the wires and electrical parts. Now, the batteries are already in place and functioning, which will allow our engineers to test all the mechanical moving parts, such as the star of the show- the tilt-wing!

    Please, 1. More footage without music. Let us hear the difference to a piston engine, 2. Some externals from the ground also without music would be great. There's huge potential for allowing more GA closer to urban areas if the sound emissions are low. Let us hear (not hear) the aircraft!

For example, custom software, avionics, the type of motors, servos; the specifications such as thrust in newtons or lbs force. Is this going to be a full scale passenger craft? If so, how many passengers, what is the expected range. Type of engines, type of fuel.

    Awesome concept. I'd love to know how this compares to the opener blackfly. I figure a single, wider wing would be more efficient for flying. While rotating the wing also seems not to be that hard to do if properly balanced.

    With a Styrofoam filled model you can do anything .it’s making it work with the payload and not run out of battery power .that’s why petroleum will never ever go away if even in hybrid format .The electric fantasy is just that it’s to keep you grounded .and if you’re going to fly you won’t go any further than 20 to 30 minutes away .that way you can’t run from the all powerful dictator ship known as your government .you know the unelected bureaucrats and figurehead politicians ,to tell you what you want do here but never do it .rhinos to keep the masses calm. Agencies run by bureaucrats that even if you had something perfectly safe and working well they will never allow that to the common people .only the ruling elite.

    This is more simple and straight-forward design without being complicated, which is, what is happening with newly emerging hover-craft. It may not be, so called, friendly in city environment due to higher space per lift with its wide wing and propellers extensions.

    Good job. Anyway the L.T.V. XC-142 looks a lot more COOL that your funny white model. Jokes apart aviation history demonstrate that tilt-wing VTOL aircrafts have too many disadvantages if compared to Tilting-Rotors VTOLs. All the best with your project.

    • @manofsan
      @manofsan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For a small aircraft with a more simplistic design, the tilt-wing approach may not be so bad. Less complex engineering, and more flexibility on rotor specs & placement. Bear in mind that this is an electric VTOL (eVTOL), and electric propulsion does offer some advantages via distributed mechanical power.
