I'm listening to your numerous reactions about how current NBA star players are duplicating. Maybe so but are running back to play defense after those shots. Are they playing a full 82 game season constantly making those difficult shots. I would like to know how many games have you watched of J. Or have you watched more highlights.

Yes there are players now who can jump high, but no players before or after Michael Jordan had the level of hang time that he had. (3) Jordan had no weaknesses to his game, which you can clearly see in this video. He was a superstar player who not only had spectacular highlights, could score from anywhere, get rebounds, assists, dominant on defense, could block shots, get steals, hussle and dive for loose balls, etc, etc. (4) He criticized the defense in the video, but what defense gets played in today's game?

Dude. I rooted against Jordan in the last 2 championships. I said it - double team him. They tried, it didn’t work. If Jordan shot the ball, it went in, every-time. In his day he was known for fade away believe it or not. He shot from all ranges and almost never missed. And of course he could sky jam on people, but his sharp shooting was what he was best at. He was the greatest of all time. Never since has a player dominated his sport, in any sport, the way Jordan dominated basketball

So a couple of things. It’s extremely common for people who haven’t been exposed to the previous generations of the NBA, NFL, NHL etc suffer from what is called “recency bias.” I’m almost certain I suffered from the same issue because while I think Wilt, Bill Russell, and Dr J are amazing players- I don’t hold them in the same regard as Bird, Magic, and Thomas - It’s not just that they were more skilled IMHO, there were more less teams in the pre 80’s and there were less rounds of the playoffs. Which is pretty close to your argument. My question to you is this- is the current game really that much better? With load management, fouls from merely breathing on someone, lack of defense, and the egregious flopping. Is the game today actually better than the 90’s and early 200X? Just because you don’t know every name of the players on the all NBA teams from that era doesn’t mean they were bad players. Go back and actually look at those games- especially in the playoffs. Sure, science and medicine have gotten better, travel has gotten easier, players take better care of their bodies etc - but I’d argue the top 25% of players from the 90’s could EASILY play now and even stay in the top 25%. Look, can you make an argument for LBJ to be the GOAT? Sure. Especially if LONGEVITY is the most important metric. But IMHO it’s per game stats that matter. And in that category there are MANY per game stats LBJ has no hope of ever catching MJ in. Dig deeper young buck- you’ll see the truth
