PEOPLE DON'T DO THIS.!! BITE THE BULLET AND JUST GET IT TOWED. DOING THIS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGES TO MANY OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. ALSO YPUR STERRING WHEEL MAY BE UNLOCKED AND YOU CAN DRIVE YOUR OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS CAN SHIT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. ALSO YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO TURN YOUR CAR OFF. YOU CAN LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING AND CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. MY FRIEND DID THIS AND SOMETHING WHEN WRONG AND HIS WHOLE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNT TO THE GROUND. NEVER EVER BUY- PASS ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS LIKE THIS THEY'RE PUT IN SEQUENCE FOR A SAFETY REASON. I SHOULD KNOW....I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. MINE IS 2011 E350 CABRIOLET. CAR HAS FULL POWER, NEW ALTERNATOR, NEW BATTERY, KEY FOBS BOTH WORK, UNLOCKS THE CAR, OPENS THE TRUNK, STERRING WHEEL IS NOT LOCKED, MY KEY WILL TURN FREELY TO START THE CAR BUT THE DASH STAYS DARK....ONLY "REMOVE YOUR KEY " IS ALL IS LIT UP ON THE DASH. I PUT TO MUCH $$$ INTO MY BENZ..." WRAP, 20" OFFSET $4K RIMS AND TIRES, $5K AUDIO SYSTEM. I GOT INSURANCE LET THEM COME GET MY CAR. THATS WHAT THE FUCK I PAY IT FOR. I WOULDN'T DO THIS UNLESS IT WAS AN ABSOLUTELY 100% EMERGENCY. OTHERWISE I WILL BE PATIENT AND GET HIM FIXED THE WRITE WAY.

Don't do this.!!!! Your car can lose power while driving.!! Your car can lose steering directions also and you can have a crash.

Hi buddy, Our diagnostic is showing error code U016800 & C220500 so both of them are steering wheel column, but tried your trick to get it to run manualy, but didn't work with that. Do you know what could go wrong at this stage ? Its a 250 CGI and right hand drive Cheers

The brown fuse is #27, for the CDI it is the ignition lock control fuse.

The AC light won't come on, why won't the car start? Mercy C200 if the AC light is on, the car will also start

Hi I have this same issue but my car is a manual and when I do this procedure nothing happens? Could it because it a manual and you need the clutch pressed down to start the car? If I press in the clutch and do this will it work? Regards Steve

Das ist eine Hilferuf ich bin verzweifelt ich habe das gleiche Problem aber bei ml w164 Baujahr 2010 beim Schlüssel drehen startet nicht alle sicherungsgeprüft alle Release teilweise gegenseitig getauscht und ausprobiert das Auto startet trotzdem nicht alles anders funktioniert außer starten allerdings beim Relais im Motor die für Stadt zuständig ist das ist die R1 überbrückt startet das Auto mit Schlüssel kann aber gleichzeitig nicht ausmachen bis ich sie überbrücken entfernt habe meine Meinung nach irgendwo habe ich eine Sicherung der abgesichert vor dem Relais die ich noch nicht gefunden habe Werkstatt keine Termine frei ich steh kurz vor dem Urlaub ich weiß nicht was ich machen soll jedes Mal wenn ich das Auto starte muss ich überbrücken und beim ausmachen mit der Motorhaube aufmachen und den Kabel zu entfernen sonst läuft alles irgendwo ist eine vorsicherung die ich nicht gefunden habe. Später um Mithilfe wenn jemand die gleiche Erfahrung gemacht hat dass er mir helfen kann Reli geprüft mit vier PIN Kontakt 30 vorhanden 87 Masse vorhanden 86 schwach 85 keine Masse irgendwo fehlt mir eine Steuerung fehlermeldung ML W164 Komponente F58kH (Relais, Stromkreis 15) istdefekt 9194 Stuereinheit 'N93 wurde keine CAN-Nachricht empfangen ich bedanke mich im voraus wenn ihr mich privat kontaktieren will meine telefonnummer steht auch in youtube drin

What was the purpose of removing relay cover ? It looks like you only removed a fuse to get it to start

Thank you. Hoping this works on my old C220 diesel. Just occasionally, and mostly when cold, I turn the key and though everything lights up ok, the starter doesn't spin. If I'm patient and keep trying it after a few minutes it'll start and it's generally OK for the rest of the day. Getting more frequent though. Thanks again.
