I like the lyrics. I guess the arrangement was UK style. I'm American (and from the hood) so it's sounds very different to my ears. I'm loving the bottom line though. Trying to call J back to his faith by saying do your research. I absolutely agree. There are thousands of weighty questions and topics in life. We all have to wrestle with them regardless of what we believe. None of us will understand everything because we're finite. And worse, limited to 10-15% of our mental capacity (which actually is cool because one day we'll be at 100%). Only the infinite can understand the infinite. We have to first accept those limitations but then strive to understand and seek what is within our power to understand. My personal view on "killing babies" is that everything in this natural world works off of the principle of sewing and reaping. Where don't we see this in action? And we clearly see how sin is a seed that carries for generations. If you look at the encyclopedia of wars it's easy to see how godlessness plays out throughout time. Looking around today I can see how the world could have been extremely evil in centuries past. If all of mankind rejected God (as is increasingly happening today) there would have been overwhelming evil and anarchy. I see why God would wipe out man. Let's be sensible, if he wipes out all of the adults who could care for the babies? So don't think that killing evil adults is fine but killing babies is evil (for the Creator of life it wouldnt be killing as we think of it). But more importantly if you truly believe in Heaven then why fear death when you're passing from a shadow of original creation to paradise? It's like when we have a terminally sick family member we love so much that we'd rather them stay here and suffer longer meanwhile knowing that they could be healed, whole and happy beyond measure if they departed this natural world. I never wince at death, especially when as believers we could be tortured for our faith. Death would be an answer to prayer in that situation. And either way we all (believers AND unbelievers) must pass through death. For me it's a simple concept. Death is less than a fraction of second compared to eternity. And you cannot escape that God DOES exist. Fine-tuning, the fact that the universe had a definitive beginning and too many more conclusive proofs confirm this. Deal with that before you start bashing God. Search for understanding even if you jetizen your original "faith".
