Hello my Optician prescribed me two pairs of rgp’s. The brand I’m using are Optimum Comfort and Optimum Extreme. She said that I just need a lens polishing annually that is why she gaved me two pairs.Just needed to use 1 pair while the other serves as a spare or while the other is on the lab(being polished). She also said that if can maintain the lenses and with no changes on my prescriptions maybe that 2 pairs will be my first and last.Im just a little confused bec u said that a pair can only lasts max of 2 years due to wear and tear and pore blockage.Enlighten me Doc thank you.

Can scleral lenses permanently cure keratoconus
Which type of lens is best for someone who only needs +2.25 near vision but doesn’t like to wear glasses and is really picky about their vision of fine print at work? Can RGP be better solution vs soft when looking for the best possible vision? Also would you suggest a bifocal type contact for really dialing in the fine print?
Go Damon!! Thank you for making the world a better place and educating the next generation of contact lenses practitioners. Good work!

Hi Doctor I went to optometrist yesterday for contact exam but he said due to need custom contact lenses, he couldn't give my prescription and that I would need get the contacts from them for me to get a prescription. Doctor isn't the optometrist mandated to give me my prescription after all I paid 150$. Is you can please advise me. I found the contacts online for much cheaper yet his manager said I couldn't order these online. I am a -8.00 in glasses with very high astigmatism. The hard contacts are cheaper option for me then soft contacts.
Do this hard lens exactly fit in cornea or is it okay that it is slightly above cornea ? Also is blurry vision normal in initial application?
Hi Anny, yes the hard lens balances comfortably on the surface of the cornea. Blurred vision is normal initially and then settles soon after insertion. Depending on the shape of your cornea this will depend on how the lens centres on your eye. I hope this helps.
Hello everyone, I’m here to share my great testimony on how I got cured of my type 2 Diabetes disease with the natural herbal medication I ordered from Dr Igudia on his TH-cam channel
My eye grade is -1.00 am i qualified to undergo ortho k?
nno
Over the years I have tried many "soft" lenses, but none ever gave me clear vision. My current doctor and I discussed getting an rgp lens for my one eye to see if that will give me the vision I want. That is what I wore originally just one contact and it worked beautifully, but of course that was when it wasn't a one size fits all like it is now with soft lenses. Your eyes were always measured to make sure that the contact would fit your eye not a hundred other people too. I can't wait to get this new lens hopefully it will solve the issue of good crisp vision.
Hi Betty, how did you go with your rap lens? Did you notice good crisp vision? Kind regards, Ezekiel Eyes Team
I have -5 on spherical power on both the eyes (-1 astigmatism). Will Ortho Keratology work for me?

Can Rgp lenses stop the progression of Keratoconus
Hi Thilak, RGP's will not halt the progression of keratoconus. RGP's will enhance the quality of a patient's life by vastly improving visual acuity. Eye rubbing will cause the progression off keratoconus. I hope this helps. Cheers Damon
@@ezekieleyes4550 Thank You for clarification sir.
Can someone with 20/20 vision use these to make their vision even better? I know that's not what they're for but is it possible?
This scleral lenses make my eyes extremely red.
if my lenses have the same diopter on them, is it important which one is the left and which one is the right lens? i think i've switched them up, but i'm not sure, and i can't find the "white dot/mark" which is supposed to be on the edge od the right lens
Why does it sound like there is a huge crowd just outside? Very distracting and annoying guys, however good the advice is.
It costs $15,000 in 10 years.
Oof!
e members may be surprised that I will speak not on Jeffrey Kennett but on a constituent of mine, Mr Maurice Brumer. Maurice is a qualified second generation optometrist who has had continuous sole practice in Frankston for over 25 years. He is actively campaigning on behalf of children who, through no fault of their own, are condemned to a life of reading difficulties and early departure from the education system. Maurice has been punished for raising concerns about current standards of optometrical practice and the need to better incorporate findings of research into current modes of practice. In a paper entitled `Optometry: light of a perverted science', he initiated a discussion on the issue of spectacles being a harmful drug when not prescribed properly. He canvassed a number of matters relating to prolonged and intensive near-seeing, which he believes is not good for our eyes and our health. He firmly stated that the public has a right to know how glasses may adversely affect good health. Maurice made the point that he did not think this would happen while the optometry profession put the public interest in second place to its own self-interests. For his efforts, Maurice Brumer was expelled from the Victorian division of the Australian Optometrical Association, a first in history. He dared challenge the cabal that rules optometry in Victoria when he spoke out at a 1992 annual meeting of the Victoria AOA and the national AOA. An extensive body of theoretical and clinical evidence already exists to show the harmful effects of current optometrical practices. The analogy could be made to tobacco companies, where no amount of research and evidence will convince them of the health related problems of smoking and to the scandal it would be if they could successfully suppress such evidence. In the belief that the burden of proof lies with the profession to show that its current standards of practices are in the best interests of its patients, Maurice presented a paper before 400 optometrists. The only response since was for the Australian Optometrical Association to make him the first member ever expelled from the association. The Australian Optometrical Association rigidly enforces the code that the first obligation of the optometrist is to his professional colleagues. Maurice insists it is to his patients.
Otie Brown Raphaelson spoke, through his children's eyes. Brumer, spoke, and was drummed out of the Victorian Optometry Society. Galileo spoke, and escaped with his life. Being scientifically honest and truthful, does not pay! Who wants to become a martyr for your personal welfare? No OD wants to sacrifice his life, so you can gain skill and knowledge to keep your distant vision clear - for life? No Optometrist has the courage to make statements about the behavior of all natural eyes - when objectively tested. OD committees, make certain, that no thoughtful analysis - will ever be published.
I wonder what side effects this has
Sleeping in contact for 10 years? No one knows.
There is theory that astigmatism is actually not genetic but result of looking down when reading and eyelid pressure. And it happens to children who read a lot and both eyes. Not genetic. But can such lens permanently cure astigmatism same way with more "aggressive" pressure?
Lenses should no be this expensive have mercy for patient that cannot afford those lenses but they need them since their life is a nightmare with bad eyesight it should be affordable for all ppl

Sir your thoughts on ortho k after icl procedure? Would the ortho k lens be pressing too hard against the cornea and causing my cornea to touch the icl lens and result in endothelial cell loss?
Hi Sam Many thanks for your question. The molding effects of orthok lenses is very minimal and effects the anterior portion of the conrea. I do not know of any endothelial loss from orthok lenses and implantable contact lenses Of course we are all individuals and close inspection of your eyes by your eyecare practitioner and continual monitoring is crucial for all patients. I hope this helps. Cheers Damon
Hey. I'm in my 1st week of using rgp lenses and my vision is blurry. Will it get better when I get used to them or something is wrong?? Thank you.
Mil MM RGPs will take a few weeks to settle in. As you increase the wearing time the comfort will improve and the visual acuity will become more stable and clearer. At the delivery consultation was the vision okay? Assuming the vision was okay when you collected the RGP's the vision should be improving. Let me know. Thanks, Ezekiel Eyes Team
@@ezekieleyes4550 Alright, I'll take note of changes over the next weeks. I appreciate your response, thank you so much.

Hi, do these lenses correct for ast8gmatic myopia?
Hi Sam, yes, these lenses correct for astigmatic myopia. These lenses can also be used to correct the shape of the eye while you sleep. Tap this link to learn more about Orthokeratology: th-cam.com/video/N-vOEAQhDEU/w-d-xo.html
My prescription is getting moderately high (-7.00) and I have astigmatism. I feel like I can't see as clear with soft contact lenses anymore (either that or my optometrist isn't getting it right despite multiple attempts). Would you RGP lenses help me see more clearly and be a better option for me in my case?
Hello. I'm a 35 year's old Keratoconus patient. I've have Keratoconus in both eyes, one worse than the other. Since I needed to see better to do my tasks, I went to fit GP contact lenses and Scleral lenses both, but the doctors couldn't fit the right lenses for me. In fact I see the results with GP lenses and Sclerals were worse then my glasses (the result was more blurry and with multiple vision with some shades around objects). Why this happens? May I have any chance with GPs or Sclerals at all?
Hi Xum, We'd love to help you improve your eyesight. Please email info@ezekieleyes.com and we can suggest a local expert. Kind regards, Ezekiel Eyes Team
I've been wearing glasses for 30 years. Why is this the first time I've heard about this? None of my doctors have ever said anything about it!
Hi Han, thanks for reaching out. With new technology and 3D mapping of the eyes, Orthok has become significantly more popular. Hope this gives you another option to wearing glasses. Kind regards, Ezekiel Eyes Team
Which is better. Ortho-k or Lasik?
Hi Mr Simsimi, Lasik is a one-off solution. If your eyes change, the Lasik may need to be re-done again. If you are myopic, Orthok can help slow down changes. Both options allow you more freedom during the day without glasses. Hope this helps, Ezekiel Eyes Team
Is it good for a person who has -2.75 (both eyes) power with astigmatism on one eye?
Hi Krishna, OrthoK might be an option. However, we recommend having an appointment with your Optometrist/Ophthalmologist. They can get a detailed map of the shape of the cornea (known as topography). Hope this helps, Ezekiel Eyes Team
Is RGP lenses suitable for low corneal consistency for whom not suitable for laser surgery ?
Hi Mawahib, Yes, RGP lenses are often used for people who are not suitable for laser surgery. Hard contact lenses may give crisper vision than soft lenses. We recommend seeing your optometrist for a check. Thank you
I wore RGP since teenage and it has been 10+ years. It’s great. Never had any problem. I sleep with them too. They are way more comfortable and healthier than soft contacts.
Thank you, Claire. Great to hear that they were more comfortable (and healthy) for you
Does it ever happen to you that the contact sometimes feels like it got a piece of dust or something on it and starts scratching your eye and then stops once you adjust it a bit? I don't know if that happens to everyone or if my eye gets too dry sometimes
Mateja Krišto yes. That’s the main problem, when dust get in, it’s worse than soft. But it’s easily adjusted.
I’m negative 7 some.. in both eyes. Very strong prescription would of help me any?
Hi Lupe, thank you for your comment. We recommend having an eye examination. You can get a map of the front of the eye (i.e. cornea). This helps your optometrist to see if you may be eligible for OrthoK. Best, Ezekiel Eyes Team
hello Sir how many hours a day can you use these lenses? same as soft lenses from early morning till night, or not ? can the eye still breath behind this big lens? any negatives or only positive news ? thank you
Hi GT86 Thank you for your enquiry. All contact lenses wearing times vary depending on the person and their personal situation/environment/health issues. I have some patients wear their contact lenses all day and some only 8 hours. This is for soft, corneal rigid and scleral lenses. The lens material in the scleral lenses is a very healthy material that does breathe. There are pros and cons with all contact lenses and this is a conversation that needs to take place with the patient and understanding the individually of that patient. I hope this helps. Kind regards, The Ezekiel Eyes Team.
Ezekiel Eyes thank you for reply I learned that this tick big lens still breathe (although difficult to believe when compared to soft daily lenses which are so thin .. ?) Regards
@@cayman9815 I wear my sclerals for 16 hours at times. No issues.
Doctor. if we routinely use this rgp lens for many years can restore the shape of the cone corneas like patients with keratoconus? Thanks doctor. GBU
Hi Andri, Hard (RGP) lenses can shape the front of the eyes. For example, they are used in Orthokeratology: th-cam.com/video/N-vOEAQhDEU/w-d-xo.html However, the cornea is less rigid with keratoconus. This means that re-shaping with rgp lenses is unlikely to be effective. Kind regards, Ezekiel Eyes Team
sometimes i am afraid if this rgp lens can break when inside my eyes? whether it is possible
Hi Andri, RGP's should not break in your eye. We test all our RGP's from the laboratory before passing them on to our patients.Kind regards, Ezekiel Eyes Team
