Day 4 - Started from Refugio Paine Grande to Refugio Gray (7 miles). Day 5 - Refugio Gray back down to Refugio Paine Grande (7 miles).

Started from Refugio Frances, dropped our packs off at the Italiano Ranger station. Climbed to Mirador Frances (Glacier viewpoint), back down to the Italiano Ranger station then continued on to Refugio Paine Grande. I believe this one was about 10 miles.

Started from Refugio Central and ended up at Refugio Frances. I believe this was an 11 mile hike and was the prettiest section in the trail system.

W-Trek from East to West. The hike from Refugio Central to the base of the towers and back was 13 miles.

First time here, so 'quite slow' is the name of the game - and it's dry and loose (which is what we Cali folks are used to) given Bellingham's pretty dry summer season this year. I don’t understand why anyone would buy anything from Fanatec.
Sometimes the steering wheel doesn't work for me too and you have to turn it off and on again when it needs to be done? What happens if someone continues to use it in this way? Thank you

I know it's hard being a family man but we are planning on going to Squamish and Whistler next August (2024). Ask for permission now :) It's still a year out - lol. Those who don't plan don't go.

I never had an issue with my DD1 and that Porsche Endurance wheel.
Ive done this method a lot without the hole works great. Just gotta be careful go slow and make sure nothing is going to pop out and wear safety glasses lol. What's the distance from the top of the board to the center of the bolt hole?

I have sold DDPro for SeriesX...i have heard the PorscheGT3 Wheel didn't Support 100%.💩 But it looks sooo nice🤩 I hope in Future it works someday 100%🖖

Yep, a lot of people have that problem as well - you'll have to get it RMA'd.

I have to rethink buying a dd1, I’m not spending that kind of money for it not to work properly. Good luck, keep us posted.
I believe a majority of the DD1s shipped are bug free but some DD1, PODIUM DD1s, and DD2's are affected though which will require the base to be replaced. The only problem is that the only way to verify if your base has this issue is by trying out a Podium Hub. Most steering wheels are unaffected.
Why don't you try downgrading the firmware then updating to the latest firmware
Same issue here. Have you also like a very litte vibration when the base Is a bit warm? 30 degree or so. I feel.like an "Electric current" as a ZzZzz that i feel' with my hands when i touch the wheel. Is It normal? Thanks
I don't notice a vibration when it gets hot. The wheel base has a fan that turns on when it gets hot. Maybe there's something wrong with the fan? (unbalanced blades) causing vibration? Nevertheless, you should get it RMA'd if you have the issue. What's the serial number of your wheel base now? I'm trying to compile it in the FB Fanatec group.
@@georgedaswani9155 no, are not the fan.. Is It possibile the motor of the base is not perfectly aligned? Fanatec replied me that this vibration Is normal with 447 driver... Are you sure if you touch the wheel do not feel' nothing? Is It the same behaviour as per is it turn off??
Same issue with my dd1f1 and new podium hub. Any idea how to fix it?
Submit a support ticket to Fanatec and get it RMA'd. That's what most of us are doing.
I have the same f1 base have you tried downgrading the firmware then updating the firmware ?
@@Waltwizzle It's not a firmware issue - the replacement I received from Fanatec has the exact same firmware and it's working. It's a hardware issue that Fanatec is aware of and they've been replacing the 'bugged' units.
Same issue here with Podium Hub & Universal Hub.
I'm waiting for the RMA number but that may be the only fix for this
Seems like a lot of people are running into the DD1/DD2 detection problems with the Podium Hub. This usually means the wheel base and the podium hub needs to be sent back to Fanatec for repair (even for brand new units). The issue that i have above is an intermittent one but may ultimate be tied to some sort of wheel base / podium hub initialization issue. Nevertheless, the fix may be to send in the base to Fanatec and get it repaired.
hey.. thx for the response... ive been reading the forums and reddit, and it seems liek its a common issue that requires an RMA... looks like turn around times are 2 weeks once an rma # has been issued... ive made my video and sent my email to them... looks liek we are not alone
@@juanshaftpatel7488 I'll try out the 478 driver when I get back and see if it gets any better. Other people are having a different problem altogether where the base ain't detecting the podium hub. I wonder if the repaired units are having the same intermittent detection issues
@@georgedaswani9155 yeha apparently the issue we have needs an RMA.. the issue where the podium hub not being detected is due to upgrading firm ware with the wheel inserted
@@juanshaftpatel7488 Don't think it's a firmware mismatch. My unit has all the correct firmware versions that's included in the 447 driver (base, podium, button module) but still has intermittent detection problem. The BETA 448 driver has a newer firmware for the base and the button module as well but still has the intermittent detection issue. I'm waiting for RMA - return label from Fanatec and will post updates.

i couldnt comment on your fanatec video.... did you ever get your Fanatec issue resolved? my podium is doing thr same thing as yours except with the universal hub.
I enabled commenting on that video. I haven't tried it with the latest 438 driver yet but will do that when I get home from vacation. I sent the video to Fanatec and I've been conversing with their support team. It sounds like they wanted me to send the wheel base in, albeit - haven't sent me an RMA number yet.
Did u do the basic setting for the level control system and headlights, or was it ok

You never mentioned bolting the 2x2 to the sway bracket and it is not shown- out of frame. Important detail.
Having done this job many times, the approach of spread the knuckle from top, bottom, then leave in place followed by compressing strut ever slightly is probably the safest way to perform the '2x4' method. Great work guys!
First guy I’ve seen use the jack trick. Everyone else takes the driveshaft out 🤦♂️
