2001 Toyota Sequoia Carpet replacement
มุมมอง 1.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The original carpet was destroyed from years of kids and pets and towards the end, some mice. It's beyond cleaning. For $25 I got a much nicer carpet out of a wrecked Sequoia that was getting parted out. Come and check out the mouse house as well!

Swing Speed Analyzer
มุมมอง 542 ปีที่แล้ว
If you're a golfer, you know that as you get older, you start losing swing speed and distance. If you have a newer smart phone, you don't need to spend any money to measure your swing speed. I'm going to try to turn back the aging clock a little bit and see if I can increase my swing speed instead of acquiescing to the fact that I am getting older and accepting that losing swing speed is just a...

I am working on a carb on a Robin Subara EX13 125cc engine. The Mikuni factory carb was a mess and some parts couldn't be reused. Factory replacements are expensive....if you can find one. I bought a $20 Ebay carb and there are some things you should know about them.

Moving forward again. I get the fender repainted and it looks mahvelous! Yes, I spelled that correctly. :) I know I have mentioned this before, but for painting these pieces in the driveway, they came out incredible. Check out the shine on the fender.

I had a set back. The paint on my one fender spider cracked through one section of the fender. I am disappointed but undaunted in my effort to get this done. You painters out there, what do you think happened?

This is starting to get exciting! At least to me! If that doesn't come through in the video, I have done a poor job of editing. :) Parts are getting painted and installed. The vision is coming together.

Thanks. Did you find any burnt wires on the base element?
great video. i just did the same thing on my g8 with pedder struts but i also replaced my tie rods. hearing an occasional knocking in my front wheel area so i need to take it to have someone check it out. all bolts feel and handle secure so i’m not sure what’s going on
Probably a good idea. The front suspension was so wore out on mine, there was no question. Just a thought, tie rod ends are relatively cheap. Why not just replace any? 🤷🏻♂ Take it to get aligned. They will tell you then if anything else is wore out.
@ you’re spot on. my front and rear end suspension has been iffy for a while and i’m doing front first. also swapped my sway bar links out for the whiteline ones. month ago found out OEM lower control arm was bent and curved so took care of that too. alignment shop in next few days. also took the drive to summit racing to grab parts lol
@@ruffin2000 Nice. You will really notice a difference once you get everything replaced. Great driving car.
A bad pvc. Valve. Or your camshaft is bad.
Pro tip= go to harbor freight and buy you a 5$ cone wire wheel that goes in a drill and you can have all that old foam off in 20 min.
I like it! Thanks for the tip!
Jim, after trying several oil filter removers I watched you r video. I purchased the one you recommended. It worked like a charm ! Thank you for the lesson.
Glad to hear it worked out for you!
O2 sensor?
I acquired a 14 hr jondeer breakin oil. Freeze grey 40wt? Oil. I removed original filter went to my jdstealer. Closed down. Auto store no jd filter. Went home and replaced old filter. It bottomed out by snug hand tight. Found out my toyo filter fit without side guard. I tried to remove old reused filter,Uhoh. Sheesh. Crushed it with 3 claw. Whew! Never remove till the new one is sitting at hand.
Wow - Just buy a good set of Cups and be done - I have that wrench that you are showing and I never use it - the cups are like having the exact correct socket for the end of the filter... you can torque it all day long and the filter will not get crushed, etc... just use the same filter and you can always use the same exact cup - problem solved.
I had cups. They are the most worthless oil filter tools on the market. I threw them in the garbage.
@@GroundhogzGarage Actually the first set I got I would agree with you on, but the better set I got has the extended surface area with a 17mm Hex too, so they would great on those rounded filters where you can get a full seat of your extension, etc. - They are great esp if you have no room to work, and are recessed, etc - it's good to have a few types I guess
@@mediacreationsusa I had to use a 2 foot pipe as an extension on a breaker bar to get the filter loose. There is not a cup ever made that would have stood up to that.
@@GroundhogzGarage Yeah, the second set I got would - I have had stuff stuck like that from other people's trucks. - Think of the cups as the box end of a wrench where it completely surrounds the whole surface area - the other filter wrenches are more like an open end wrench where they only make 4 points of contact (at most) - I guess we can agree to disagree - I own that exact wrench you are selling - the one they were "out of" is a good wrench actually (I have that one too) but still not as good as having the perfect fitting cup.
There is no problem to be solved. The filter got crushed because of a couple other techniques that didn’t work, including a cup. I didn’t need to buy two sets of cups to find ones that worked. The tool I bought, just once, has worked flawlessly, even on a crushed filter. But I’m glad cups work for you. Like most TH-cam videos, mine was to share my experience with you and what worked for me.
Love the videos! Here in Houston about to remove my engine in my 04 escalade to find where anti freeze is leaking from near the fire wall im thinking its a freeze plug on back of block. Question is would i need an air impact wrench to remove any bolt from under the truck or anywhere else. Did you have any bad rusting bolts you had to deal with removing the tranny and motor together how you did..? Or on the exhaust?
If you are a life long southerner, it would be hard for you to comprehend what we have to deal with here in the great north. Both of the trucks I had were SOUTHERN trucks and I did not have to get the heat wrench out once. In my Ohio experience, that is extraordinary. I used an impact gun because it makes the job infinitely quicker, but it wasn’t necessary, in my case. If my trucks were Ohio trucks, an impact gun and a torch would have been necessary, no…mandatory. Without knowing the history of your truck I can’t say definitively, but if it is a southern truck, you should be okay.
@@GroundhogzGarage Thanks! Yeah my mom is from Lakeview, Michigan I go every summer passing through Ohio at times on the way back leaving Detroit, great drive! and do hear alot about the salt roads.. doesn't sound so swell for vehicles under carriage.. This was her '04 Escalade ESV and she had it in Florida hopefully that's where it lived most of its life.. ill keep a torch and impact nearby just in case!. If i have anymore questions ill try to be the least bit bothersome lol! This video Motivated/Inspired me like you felt!.. Thanks again!
@@GroundhogzGarage Oh so its easier to remove the engine with the transmission together or unmount tranny if only engine needing service?
That tool that worked, you didn't explain how it grips the filter. I can't see how.
Hand tightening and oiling the gasket for 52 years as tight as I can by hand, and never have had a problem with leaking or removing them. Never used a tool to tighten the oil filter. I have strong hands.
just did this and it still doesn't work 😅 wondering if I ruined the back rest one installing it I was pretty gentle with it the passenger side worked perfectly fine now it doesn't work at all as well check the fuse unplugged everything under the seat rep plugged everything under the seat guess I'm going to order two more sets and plug them in under the seat and see if it fixes it before I take it all apart again
@@justintimeforbrownies5246 since i made that video I have realized that I should have replaced them all at the same time. The only one I didn’t replace, failed and now my passenger seat doesn’t work.
@ haha I will be doing exactly that ! Replacing both
Hand tighten only! And that doesn't mean as tight as you can make it by hand. Just moderately tight is good enough.
How come you didn't do the sun visors and the sunroof inner fabric. It's not going match
@@ralphvarela1261 It’s a 20 something year old truck with 240k on it. I questioned my sanity doing the headliner. 😆
This is definitely 1 of the better videos for changing out the ignition case houseing or whatever it's called...
when you use Lubeshops they tighten the new filters with tools, all screw on filters should be hand tightened only and never use any tools to tighten them up, the heating and cooling process shrinks steel which makes the filter and locating flange far too tight when tools are used, it says in the manuals and on the new filter to only hand tighten, they are not joking, the expansion and shrinkage process can actually friction weld them together,
I just installed one of those carburetor. In my Robin Subaru ex17. Yes you need those 3 baskets. Just pay attention when you take off the old carburator. You'll see the position of each gasket. JUST PAY ATTENTION. take fotos maybe easy for you to remember.
You’re right. You do need three gaskets. I still had all three of the old gaskets, they were just torn. They were not the three gaskets I got in the kit. I bought some gasket material and cut the gasket I needed. This wasn’t my first rodeo.
You didn't need to take that lower bracket off. The bolt at the bottom of the shock is you needed to do.
You didn’t watch the whole video, did you. The lower bracket was rusted on.
thats crazy great great job im having the same problem on a 2003 chevy tahoe thats crazy its on there so tight but great job have a great blessed day as always
Temp sensor
This is why I do my own oil changes.
Yep, exactly!
Just bought a 3 Trailblazer if I had this issue I will I have no help thank you
I have a 1999 Lexus RX300 - I left the oil filter on too long - got it to cut loose after 3 hours - stabbed it through twice…this is the worst oil filter placement design I have ever seen! Next time I will change the oil and filter after 4,000 miles or 3 to 4 months.

Works for me follow the man's directions excellent advice definitely work
Throttle body
Mine had burnt exhaust valve #2cylinder. Massive amount of work to pull the cylinder head
Pulling a cylinder head is typically a lot of work. That’s an out of the ordinary problem.
I believe mine has the same issue. Did you have any smoke?
If a coil or plug is bad, the MIL light will illuminate and a code will be stored. Trailblazers, Envoys etc with 4.2 liter L6 allows rain to leak past hood gasket and pool in spark plug wells. The water will melt plug electrodes or short out coils. Delphi coils are a must. Cheaper are available but you get what you pay for.
motor mount , vvt selonoid , camshaft position sensor , crankshaft position sensor , and im sure the knock sensors are going crazy , you can pull one coil wire at a time , if it stops when one is pulled that's you bad coil or plug , if not the coils and plugs are good ...
I had the same problem on my 2004 Changed my #6 coil and that was it
Did the same thing today, the miss is mostly gone but the motor is still rocking like this slightly
Cam position sensor
What epoxy did you use
F U E L I N J E C T O R S might also be one cuz I also put in new ngk plugs and my truck started idling like a cartoon jalopy after new plugs and ngk coils
If it wasn’t running like that before you put the plugs and coils on, you introduced a new problem. Make sure all your plugs are gapped and seated. Make sure you have the coils seated on the plug correctly. Did you put some dielectric grease on the boots of the coils? Do you have the harness connected to the coils correctly?

MAP sensor from dirty throttle body replace map and clean throttle body bet it fixed or fixes it .. Did you ever figure it out?
Bad coil
Did you heat up the oil before you attempted to remove the filter and did you put oil on the rubber ring when installing And only hand tight
I have no idea of knowing how long that oil filter was on the car. It had been sitting in a garage form10 years before I bought it.
Too much talking
Oh well. That’s the beautify of the internet. You can move on to the next video, or better yet, make your own video.
Trying to gather motivation to pull the 6.0 out of my Escalade so I can finally get that shipping crate out of my yard
If its a southern truck, its easier. You don’t have to fight every nut and bolt like you do up north

Had a 97 that I sold because of bad knees. Getting my knees replaced this year and hope to get another one next Year. Great bike!!!!
2003 Escalde engine 6.0, will fit which style/year truck?
Stock 99-07 gms, but those engines can be put in almost anything with the right mounts and wiring.
That was a son of a bi#*h to get off!
Can do without the first 3 minutes of your life/ cars life story. I will let you know if I have the patience to use your video for my project.
Maybe you should be watching “How to use a computer “ videos. You can fast forward through the boring parts.
I hate to be the one to inform you of this but, Your truck has been listening to Van Halen.
I have to ask, does (or did) your trailblazer make like this very faint sort of knock? Kind of sounded like it's towards the back or middle section of the engine? Trying to chase down a noise.
No. No knocking noise. Could be a broken engine or transmission mount.
If I ever have one that I can't get off with my hands, I just go with a cap socket with a socket wrench. It gives the leverage without damaging the can. Yah sometimes it sucks getting the filter off the socket, but I've never had to resort to extreme methods to remove a filter.
Switch mine but doesn’t stay on, turns on then die right away
So you skip adding the oil?
Of course not. Took about 4- 5 quarts.
