    I followed your exact steps but it seems no matter how simple the file I choose the SVG file has too many bodies/points and is causing program to freeze. It throws an error due to too many points/bodies? Anyone else having this issue and how did you resolve it? How to reduce to amount of bodies/points? is this done prior to bringing the image into F360 at the converter level?

    Good tutorial. Made some mistakes but got a finished result in the 2nd print. If you could add cc to your video that would be great. Also the negative number you put were reverse for me and I was not able to import the stl into different component to paint in bambulab so I exported the back and front separately and I painted it in bambulab. Thank again for the great video!

  • @SteveInScotland
    @SteveInScotland 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wait! We raised up the logo in f360, then we flipped it over in the slicer. Thats not flat though, its just printing that raised section on the bed, the rest is hovering one layer up. That doesn't seem right. I'm not saying it won't "melt" together. It may work but its technically incorrect. I'm printing now so if it looks ok, I guess the answer is, don't worry, be happy, lol

    • @SteveInScotland
      @SteveInScotland 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, it was not happy printing in mid-air and I ended up with a failed print. Print it the right way up and it’s fine but useless as a coaster as the image is raised up.

    Nice video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Anyway I'd love to see how you install the LED strip. I'm not sure why you added the small cut out at the back. Its too thin for a cable. I understand, that this cutout is for your strip, but why do you want a cutout for the strip at the back and not for the cable? Thanks!

    tutorial seems to work great apart from a few things unless im doing something wrong? when i extrude the back at -4mm but then extrude the svg at 1mm it sticks out of the back of the model at 1mm i have to them extrude the back again at 1mm to make it flush, does this make sense? ive tried to follow it step by step but this keeps happening

    I put my friend's baby's face and name on one. If you watch over the print, when it starts to fill the text after 0.5mm (in my example below) do a color change, let it complete the layers to fill in the text, then switch back to the first filament and your text will be another color. Use a PEO print bed plate and it can be smooth like glass and if you get one with a hologram in the print bed, it'll be on the coaster.

  • @isthattrue1083
    @isthattrue1083 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I could do this in my sleep. Fusion seems intimidating... it's not. It's you over thinking it. Coasters are simple. Find the logo you want. Convert it to SVG file format. Open fusion, create sketch on bottom plane, make a circle to the size you want the coaster, insert your logo svg, align it the way you want. Finish the sketch. Select inside the circle and leave the logo unselected. Extrude up 0.5mm. Select the area of the extruded body. Create a sketch. Make another circle over the first circle. Finish sketch. Extrude up 4.5mm. Select the top surface. Create a sketch. Make a circle about 20mm so that the edge of the circle aligns with the edge of the part. Select the circle and then select under "Create" menu, "Circular Pattern". New menu pops up. Click "Axis". Select the middle point of part. It should automatically create three circles symmetrically around the part. Finish sketch. Select all three circles. Extrude them up 3mm. Send to print. Congratulations, you have made a drink coaster.

    I was trying to follow the guide, but had to give up. First of all I am a beginner, and I need to import a SVG that has a combined logo and text. It is all surrounded by an approx. 1 mm circle already. Though when importing there are square lines around the imported SVG logo. I could easily mark the lines and remove them, leaving just the circle with the logo and text in. I set it to be 85 mm in dimensions. Now going from there, to actually have a 2 mm thick coaster, where the embedded logo/text is just approx. 2 layers high in black (so with 0.16 mm line height x 2 layers, then 0.32 mm high logo/text) embedded into a white background…. That is where the chain breaks off for me. I have actually done more or less what I wanted in Bambu Studio slicer, where I cleaned up the SVG logo/text, and set the scaling to 85 mm on x and y, and then created a white circle in the same size. Center both, and assemble them. Though the idea was to get an even better and detailed quality coaster, using Fusion 360. Now only watched a few Fusion 360 YT videos, so not at all routined yet, but the coaster video here seemed to be the way to go for this little task. Though currently not as easy as I thought. :) Anyway - goal as mentioned was to import logo and make background white, while text/logo (a bird in the middle, text above, and some lines going through middle part of the logo) should be black in this case…. Any pointers would be much appreciated.
