🍺🍺🍺
cheers, it is a beautiful venue and has taken some years to get on it. Hence why it is the secret river!
fantastic video ! very informative will defo give this a go next time im in Eastbourne
I need to go back and have another go, it just a long walk!
Great video mate, so happy for you catching those carp. Looks like a great river
Thanks, It is somewhere I have wanted to fish for a long time!
Great angling! 👏And what a great looking venue!
Thank you, yeah it is beatiful and virtually unfished!
That's a hard water for a days pleasure angling. Have you been to furnace brook fishery? Really nice lake and great surroundings
Hi, yes that is where I went and caught my first ever carp. I should go back as not been back since and that was over 30 years ago nearly! 🤔
I haven't fished Wishing Tree in years. Lots more trees now but still loads of mud. The silt was always really deep in there
Hi Bernie, first time for me in over 20 years. We only fished this bit as I got to the lake rather late and it was the only place for us all. The rest of the lake seems all ok. There is a broken drain in that area which is why it is boggy but has grown into quite a nice lake from what it was years ago. Good to see!
pop ups seem to be the way as well! sorry not Bernie, Berternie! oops!
Amazing place mate... Nature is astonished
Thanks matey much appreciated, today was great fun, hopefully video for next week. Good luck with final exam :-)
Yo no tengo la pegatina esa en mi book
will need serial number from radio unit play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmtproducts.dacia&hl=en_GB
Great video mate.
Glad you enjoyed it
I remember the old lagoon section being fishable - I think that was before the water levels were dropped so low. I am sure the lagoon swims were once used as disabled access swims. It would be interesting to see if there are any fish in there now but I presumed it was too shallow and overgrown. I would love to know when they started dropping the drain levels so low. There were loads of drains in the area that I used to fish that are just overgrown and shallow now
used to be good for bream, I had to raise my rudder as it was grounding out and only just made it through due to the depth of water!
Well done lads
Thanks, sorry bit behind on replys
I was unable to get down there last season, I usually fish a long way upstream of the bridge in the "wilds" so to speak hopefully the fish losses were not too bad up that end of the fishery.
HI There, I have left the club so not fished the reach for over a year now. When I went up stream following the fish loss saw a lot more life and hardly any dead of dying fish. I have always liked it upstream and we dug a swim out which is probably full of brambles now! whilst digging the swim out saw an orange Koi carp, wonder if it is still around?
Hi mate, is there a fishing kayak you could recommend me? I live in Eastbourne and always fancied having a go a bit further out than I can cast from the beach . Great vids Btw.
Hi Ya, I all honesty If i knew now back when I first got the kayak, I would have made a different choice! I would reccoment a pedal Kayak. Simple reasons your hands are free and also your legs are alot more powerful than your arms. That combined fishing rod and needing to paddle becomes a nightmare so if you can opt for a pedal kayak. If I had the cash I would have gone for a GALAXY STURGEON FX as the arms get tired very quickly. Have a word with Brighton canoes in Newhaven, This is where i got my kayak the Enigma Pro 12. Its ok but I should have spent the extar cash for a pedal. One day if the channel goes anywhere, I may then be able to get one. The Hobie kayaks look great but are so very heavy and so very expensive! The roll royce of the Kayak world. Maybe in the summer if you get a Yak let me know we could meet and have a fish!
@@Fish4san Thats great Info thank you. In all honesty , I`m a complete novice when it comes to sea fishing, I will definitely give you a shout when i get a kayak, thanks mate..
Do you have plans to continue course fishing once the season ends soon? Really enjoying the videos and hope you keep making them.
Yeah, going to still do some bits here and there just need to try some different venues!
is there any carp in there?
I have never caught any carp, also not heard of anything big.
Who’s the hunchback of Notre Dame?!
you are matey! 🤣
Charming! You look like Timothy from ‘Sorry!’ Such a good friend! I look more like Scooby doo anyway!
Keep up the great work Andy. Your smashing it
Hi Paul, thanks for the kind words. Yes half of the channel is about the mistakes we make and the days where it does not always go to plan. Like you say I could edit a lot of this out but I think this is what makes the channel different to most! Thanks again
It's quite refreshing to see other people make an arse of it as well now and again 🤣 that's proper fishing. It's not all pin point accurate casts and big double figure fish. In fact that's hardly ever the case with me and I'm sure most of your average fishermen are the same.
Unlucky mate, your videos are really well put together and they also show how much trial and error can be involved in fishing. There are so many factors that can affect it. Weather water colour and flow, weed, casting into trees!! To name but a few. You guys show everything. You could quite easily edit out all the stuff that goes wrong but you show people just how frustrating it can be and most importantly you can have a laugh about it. Keep going and you'll get your rewards.
Really enjoy your vids guys, like myself your always learning and are willing to try different methods. For your foam you could buy cheap tins of sardines in oil and soak your foam in that. Also if you take off the needle when your drawing the oil into the syringe it will fill a lot quicker. You can then replace the needle and inject. Sardine is my go to bait. Cheap as chips and you can also buy it in frozen kilo bags from fishmongers or fresh from morrisons. You need to tie them with bait elastic though as they are soft baits when defrosted come off the hook if you try to cast them any distance
Hi Paul, I must admit I need to put some bait elastic in my bag as I normally use it out on the kayak when using squid. Hmmm I wonder if squid would work in the river? Might be worth a go! 🤔
@Fish4san I've thought about squid a few times as well though never tried it either. I was thinking maybe stuff it with scraps or chunks of fish (sardine or herring) tie it up tight and stab some holes in it with a baiting needle. That's bound to send out lots of attractant. Plus with squid being white it would stand out even in murky water. And it would be the perfect size to try circle hook method.
@@paulstares48I might have to pop to anglers den and grab another box and give it a go this weekend as I need some more squid for the kayak
@@Fish4san I might give a go next time I'm out. Might even try roving using sink and draw method with whole squid. See if I can entice a take.
another great video, nice to see you fishing at Boreham street.
Thanks 👍
Early
Thanks
Well done
Thanks Martin
It was really nice meeting you by the way this is Ollie who was shooting in the field near by

what can i do if the code isn't here or in the front page?
Hi, if you don’t have the handbook you will need the serial number of the radio. Then go on to autoradiocodes.com and enter the serial number. It should then generate the radio code for you. Good luck 🤞
Hi, I have a handbook but there nothing at the last page. Where can I find the serial number ?@@Fish4san
Another great video!!! Top quality
We just need to get one on the bank next time round!
You will continue!!!
cheers Wills, when you next joining us?
Fishing off beachy head in a kayak RNLI must love you!!!!
............I feel sorry for you.
I'm loving the cuckmere videos. It's such a beautiful river.
Thanks, I have only fished it a couple of times but I have seen some great fish! Next season I shall be dedicating more time to it 👍🎣
@@Fish4san excellent. Do you have club membership for the Arlington stretch? My understanding is it's easier to get blood out of a stone than joining SPS.
I have been exploring some other areas (clubs), without much success. The SPS is difficult to join and quite rightly so as they do have some exceptional, beautiful strectches of river to fish. They merely want to preserve this for themselves and the club by ensuring its members are like minded individuals. Also, NO i am not a member, I tried many years ago! @@benben8866
Have you fished Bexhill at all, great place for bass..
Hi, no have not been over that way at all, the closest is cooden. Now we have the winter storms rolling in will be picking calm days to get out, oh and dusting off the dry suit too!
Bexhill is a great place for bass, a summer thing tho..
The safety issue with the twig is the arms that spring out can get easily caught in weed trapping a fish. I don't believe the self hooking aspect works. If you watch the video's of it is action it doesn't usually activate until after the fish is hooked. I think trigerlink or other elasticated section in a rig will work just the same without safety issues.
Hi, I have since bought a magic twig and can now see as you have correctly said the side arms once deployed can collect loads of weed! I also think it is a bit of a gimmick after giving it a go! I shall be doing a review soon. I also think it does not trigger very well and the hermit rig is probably better!
Great video. Cheers.
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh hold on yes u r 😂😂😂
I..um. errrr am not umm sure what err you mean ?🤣
Yay your not saying ummm as much ...numpty😂
I'm so glad I've found this. It's been over 30 years since I fished the cuckmere. I used to fish up near Arlington when Hailsham Angling Club had the rights. Such a beautiful River. I've never fished Shermans Bridge.
Thanks for your comment. Hailsham used to have some nice waters. I used to like Golden Cross when Hailsham joined with Southdown but alas a few narrow-minded people spoilt it for the rest of us! Hope you enjoy the videos. They are not all about hauling loads of fish, It's more about the journey and catching is a bonus!
I love those little drains around Rickney. There are some nice fish in them.
very overlooked and they often have quite a few surprises in them!
Awesome day to go out. Must take my kayak out round the lighthouse sometime looks amazing.
I was really lucky with the weather and now think I should have climbed on to the lighthouse! You only get a few days a year that calm to make the trip round the lighthouse! You never know I might bump into one day out there on the yak!
Great vid. We’ve had some fantastic calm days the past couple of weeks 👍🏻 early morning on a flat sea - something quite peaceful about it. My favourite time. I noticed the addition of pipe insulation on the rod - is that to make it float ? And does that actually work ? I lost my Ugly stik rod and Penn 3500 not long ago 🥴 I use paddle leash to secure to kayak and was reeling in a fish on one rod when I knocked the other overboard ! Great to see a Spifire over the white cliffs too 👍🏻👍🏻🤞🏻
Hi Dan, It just helps keep the rod a bit more buoyant if it does go for a swim and is used to try and counteract the weight of the reel. Saying that though if the fish is big enough it will tow it, especially a conger or smoothound!! 😄
How amazing is this video and how lucky were you with the weather
cheers mate. I had a week's leave and it had to be done! Only managed to do this once before but the conditions were perfect!😁
@@Fish4san we spent alot of that week paddleboarding, thos conditions dont happen that often for that period of time
nice video! would you know if fishing is allowed on the newhaven east arm
Hi Abdullah, not sure it has been years since I fished it but as the west arm is open would presume the east arm is. Used to be good for mullet and bass years ago
Im always pleasantly surprised by the stamp of fish one can winkle out of little streams. No peacock quill float with your split cane rod ?. Unhooking glove; Nice one. Cheers Andy. 😊
So true!
I really enjoy watching your videos. Please keep em coming. Nice one. Tight lines, & Thankyou. 😊 I was told handling fish with dry hands burns the fishes skin, leaving them open to infection, & that they'll usually die within a couple of days. Since i was told that - i fill a med bait bucket with water to wet my hands when unhooking fish whilst course fishing. Gotta leave something for future fishers.
Thanks for your support. I try and wet my hands before touching the fish, the main issue is removing their protective slime which then makes the vulnerable to infection. I would be surprised if they die from being handled 3 days later? I shall have a look…
Well done Fatty, you are looking good and smiling 😊 This time next year you can meet up on the Isle of Wight with kayak and go fishing 🙏
cheers Fella, you look after yourself! Take every day as it comes, It can only get better!🥺
I can honestly say that this channel has helped me & my sanity. I live in Bedfordshire, - a long way from the sea. Watching you catch fish & the sea & scenery is terrific. Makes me feel like im there. Thankyou. 🙂👍
Hi Batch6792, Many thanks for your kind words. I started this channel when I was at a difficult point in my life. My very good friend and fishing buddy James said I should start a channel as my wife had got me a GoPro for Christmas. I don't do social media so this was a challenge for me to do but quite enjoy it other than the hours of video editing! I am so glad you enjoy the channel. It is not very serious and I laugh at my mistakes, or should I say Jamse's! It is my escapism and I think everyone needs something in this crazy world to laugh at! Once again thank you and thanks for your support.👃😀
Great video mate! 👏👏👏 Regarding the camera issue under water, you need to find the centre point of camera and add some weights at the bottom, that way under water it will balance out better. It will take a few goes so test at home with a bucket 😉
Hi Ted, Thanks for your comment.Yeah, I need to spend a bit of time working something out. I am still uber scared of dropping it in the sea as I have lost a camera in the past in the Cuckmere from my kayak when I capsized (Garmin Virb). I shall have to include that clip in a video one day. It was very funny looking back!
My mate gets a return easyjet plane over to Antwerp (Belgium) to get all his dental work done. He says its a nice day out - & he saves thousands on uk prices.
Nice float. Should be able to see that - even at distance. 😊 I agree about Newhaven. It was a cracking place once. Such a shame the kids fair, amusements, & burger stall before the breakwater & the little beach inside the breakwater are all gone or closed. The fort museum is still open though, & The Hope Inn. Glad to hear the locals are fighting to resurect the place to its former glory. Good for them. Good for Newhaven. I'll keep my fingers crossed they open up the breakwater again. 😊
Cheers, hopefully wont lose it!
@@Fish4sanyou didn't look impressed when it was looking like you'd lost the anchor - last week. I reckon that'll be a thing of the past now.
