@@tomjenkinson8958 just a short lob and no effort you're looking at 80 to 100 yards depending on your casting limits mate. I casting 7oz leads with bait on my triplex like no problem at all

Personally for me I was thinking would I be able to cast the shorter rod after using the 16ft triplex and 14.6ft ttr. It felt great in the hand and I was only over head hitting it. I would say have ago of afew rods just casting them to you find what suits you mate. If you know someone who has afew rods ask them to have ago one day.

@@Madmicksoutdooractivities yeah that's the problem mate I don't know anyone with the ss or t1000 although I did look at them very closely for over an hour and I honestly think the RT axe is definitely in the same bracket for the rough stuff just not as polished ,, cheers Mick have a good season on the cod I hope you get plenty out ,, btw I know you like fishing Scotland had a cracking session at Usan (fish town side) few weeks ago when we had the spring tides plenty decent ones out in flat calm seas at night tho couple of hours before low when it's in the mood can be fantastic 🎣

@@Steve-yl6gu yeah it's class. I don't really fish Usan that much as it gets very busy. Remember been up there years ago and I had afew out but there was a bloke I walked off with he had alot. It's around 3 hrs 15 minutes for me from my house, only takes me 2hrs 45 minutes toget to Tayport when I have a clear run and that's no speeding. Do you live up that area like Steve?

@@Madmicksoutdooractivities your spot on about it getting busy that y I go late summer autumn through the week you usually have the place to your self and it produces 80 percent of the time at certain areas it's hard to predict in winter tho better with the mains side in a big old easterly half tide down to low and a couple back up bus as you know you have to be careful full of adrenaline but in with a good shot of hooking something very decent,, and I'm from neer Edinburgh so about 1 hour 30 for us
