Michael Palin, Alan Bennet, Malcolm Mowbray and Mark Chivers provide commentary, with Mark Kermode moderating on this 1985 classic Handmade Production.
In the summer of 1947, Britain prepares to commemorate the wedding of Princess Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip. To get around food-rationing laws, Dr. Charles Swaby (Denholm Elliott), accountant Henry Allardyce (Richard Griffiths) and solicitor Frank Lockwood (John Normington) are fattening a black-market pig for the big day. Egged on by his wife (Maggie Smith), meek Gilbert Chilvers (Michael Palin) steals the swine, but the couple must conceal it from inspector Morris Wormold (Bill Paterson).

As a result the two went on a shopping spree, buying fast cars, a dream home and a lifestyle fit for a multi-millionaire but it was all one big decep...

    The ads are not from this content creator. The ads are from TH-cam. The only way to get rid of the ads is to become a premium member of TH-cam. There is a monthly cost to be a premium member. The real downside of this is that the content creators do not receive any portion of the money I pay for premium. So, it’s your choice, to pay or not to pay.

    • @Pleasureland67
      @Pleasureland67 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, unfortunately I don't, I have collected various Audio tracks from documentaries I have enjoyed based on the delivery of its content, when I was younger Clement Freud was generally ridiculed by the various TV mimicks, but when I watched this documentary and got a better understanding of him as a person, and realising how much I appreciated how he delivered his story. In an age of so much throw away content on TV it's refreshing to find such, well made and perfectly delivered classics.
